We didn't have to wait too long for a table, we got there around 9:30 on a Sunday. Our food was really good and I liked that they left you a pitcher of water on the table. I had a pecan pancake, which was delicious. The only thing I didn't like was that our waitress dropped off our ticket, "no rush", right after I had taken just my 3rd or 4th bite. Since I am a former waitress, that is just a point of annoyance for me. Otherwise, it was a good and I'm sure we'll be back.

My wife and I love this place. We've always had to wait when we get here, ranging from 10 minutes to an hour. They started a new text system to text you when your table is ready. We walked around the corner to half price books and browsed while we waited. The hostess told us 20 minutes and our table was ready in ten. Our server, Ryan, was quick and efficient. He wasn't too talkative, but did a great job. Very professional. My wife and I split the Floridian French Toast and the Bacado omelet. That omelet is amazing. One of the best I've ever had. We always order it with egg whites to cut some of the calories. The French toast was good, not excellent, about what we could make at home, but without the hassle and a small enough portion for just the two of us. It came topped with strawberries, kiwi and banana. Lots of fresh fruit on it. We will be ordering this again and splitting it between the two of us.

Everything we had for breakfast was Delicious! Try the Carrot Cake Pancake, you won't be disappointed! We also got: Cranberry Nut Oatmeal, Bacon Avocado and Tomato Hash (over medium) and Fresh OJ. It was all Amazing!

I've eaten here a lot, and the food is good. I never had a bad experience until this past weekend, and it was very frustrating. I called ahead for a group of family members for breakfast on Monday. When we arrived, we were told they had no reservation under our name. It was suggested that I had called the other 119th St. location by mistake. Running out of time, we quickly left the Olathe location, and I called the same number to ask if our reservation could be moved about 15 minutes later. We were told that was fine. When we arrived at the 119th St Overland Park location, we were told they had no reservation under our name. I was completely baffled. They asked which number I called, and when I brought it up on my phone, we all realized it WAS the Olathe location--I had not made a mistake after all! So I don't recommend doing a call-ahead, because apparently it's pointless. Thankfully the people at the 119th St Overland Park location were very nice, and very apologetic (even though it wasn't their fault), but I'm not happy with the staff at the Olathe location. Why they recognized my reservation over the phone but not in person, I have no idea.

My favorite breakfast spot. ... so disappointed! The front end of this restaurant is so messed up it needs revamped our they need to close. The hosting is pitiful. The issue is ongoing and over the past three months I have just gotten to the point I shake my head. There is no order in seating. Long waits with an empty restaurant. Trying to pay requires an appointment. Often a member of wait staff rushes up to clear the lines. Where the Hell is he host? Never where they are supposed to be. My last visit I walked in, stood and waited 5 minutes. Three larger groups came in after. They were all seated first. Front door can make or break you. First Watch I chose not to spend money with you. You have received a one year ban. It's the only way I can impact you. My twice a week visits and family visits won't even be missed. I will know though and that's what counts. Clean up the mess!

Long waiting times got you down? They have a virtual line that will help you cut through the riffraff that the normal Joe Schmo has to deal with, but don't worry Mr. Schmo, there is free coffee offered while you wait. The menu is lacking the one item to go for every time. Everything is good, but nothing is great. The portions are appropriately sized, but not over whelming at all. For the prize it is average. You now what that say? Schmo money, Schmo problems. Sorry, that doesn't make sense but I just had to use it. It is a good option for brunch, but not ideal. Plus, there is not a bar to sit at, and for me that is mandatory for any legitimate Brunch spot. Just as LeVar Burton said on Reading Rainbow, "You don't have to take my word for it." Go try it!

You can't go wrong with this place. Have ate here a dozen times and the service and food is always top notch. Our server Terri took great care of us. She made sure our glasses were always full and we had everything we needed to compliment our meal. I had the Beefeater Sandwich: Roast beef, tomato, Cheddar and Monterey Jack on grilled Parmesan-crusted sourdough. Horseradish sauce on the side. Great Place!

We had an excellent time today. Went here for breakfast (around 10:30am) and had mixed feelings because getting into the parking lot is (in itself) an achievement. After waiting the promised-as-delivered, 20 minute time, we were seated and were greeted with a welcome carafe of hot coffee and pitcher of fresh water. What struck me about the seating is that the tables are a comfortable distance away from adjoining tables. These days restaurateurs are keen on placing as many tables in the closest proximity possible. Not so here. You'll have plenty or private space and elbow room! The food was fresh and creatively presented. With an emphasis on health eating. Many dishes this visit (optional) contained Kale and Quinoa, I had a wonderful omelet titled the 'Acapulco Express'. It has chorizo, green chilies, cheeses and avocado, served with sides of potatoes and muffin (or salad greens) and delicious house-made salsa. Great tasting and filling! My wife had 'The Works' omelet which was as the title says. The Omelets were thin--like crepes--but clearly egg, delicious, and very well made. All told, the food is a very good value. It's honest and substantial. They serve lunch also but I can't comment on that. However salads are a substitution option on every item for those who prefer greens instead of starch. A very good "family" oriented place (kids very welcome) and WELL worth the delay in being seated. The staff cleaning this table turnover machine do a very good job of cleaning and sanitizing each table before the next party is seated. We'll be back!

This is Great food, folks! I was looking for something other than the ihops of the world. And First Watch is an amazing find! It's traditional breakfast with a modern twist. Freshest ingredients, wholesome menu - you can get options as rich or as lean as you want! Lots of healthy options that include egg whites, oats, fruits, etc. We went with our four-year-olds and this place is great for kids! Portions are quite big, for instance our kids can easily split a pancake kids meal. Chocolate chip pancakes with that yummy chocolate melted throughout... Of my! I got egg Benedict with ham and tomato and it was super delish! Go check it out!

I've never been all that thrilled with First Watch. It is not that First Watch was bad; rather, it wasn't anything spectacular. That's what I always thought. Recently, I have begun to change my thoughts a bit. I live right by this First Watch, and went in on a Saturday morning, around 9:15am, to have breakfast with a couple friends. The wait was, surprisingly, only 15 minutes, and sure enough we were at the table around 9:30am. Our server was incredibly friendly and quite attentive. She brought us a pitcher of water, which is much preferred to individual glasses that may frequently go dry. It seems this is the norm, which I like and wish more places did. Food came out very quickly, despite the fact that the place was packed. I kept it simple - two massive blueberry pancakes, and a side of bacon. This all added up, with tax, to $8.56...and I was stuffed for a good chunk of the day. The pancakes were delicious with plenty of blueberries. The bacon was plentiful (4 or 5 strips), and was not very crispy, which I appreciate. I feel like crispy bacon has no flavor, so the fact that this bacon was on the softer side meant all of the flavor came through. My friends both had omelets which were sizeable and filled with many ingredients. Both commented on how tasty they were, but I do not specifically remember what was in them. The biggest negative is the waiting area. In the summer or when it's warmer, no problem, because it can spill out on the big sidewalk area. During the winter, however, it gets incredibly cramped inside the front door.

This used to be one of my favorites for breakfast. The change to the menu, specifically the removal of the Turkey Dill Crepeegg was a blow to my breakfast choices. Seems that service is good but food has dropped off. I had a bacon& onion hash, only so so, hate pulling onion skins out of the dish or my mouth. Cooks seem a little rushed and quality has dropped off. Not sure it will be a place to visit to soon after the disappointments of today.

Their Fall Quinoa power bowl is incredible! Quinoa, chicken, dried cranberries, butternut squash and goat cheese... Yum. Awesome fresh flavors and fun breakfast/brunch atmosphere

Visited First Watch for some late breakfast last Saturday morning. It was busy, but we only waiting about 10 minutes for a table for two. I ordered the Bubba's Benny (biscuits covered by over easy eggs, sausage, and gravy) with a side of seasoned potatoes. And because I was starving and wanted more food, I also got 1 chocolate chip pancake. Positives: -Great food, and was very filling. The pancakes are huge. As hungry as I was, my girlfriend had to help me finish everything I ordered. -Nice variety of breakfast options. Many different items than your standard Ihop/Dennys/Perkins menu. -Service was good, though nothing too special. Negatives: -Location is less than ideal...a strip mall with not a ton of parking out front. This place always seems to be busy, and I can see why...I'll definitely be back!

Before my son was born, we went here every Sunday - no kidding. We'd get our names on the list (because we're not early risers, so there was always a line when we got there) and stop by the bookstore right around the corner for a little while. Usually the staff is very accommodating if we accidentally get sucked into the bookstore and miss our name being called. The food is always delicious and so quickly prepared. They are always packed on Sunday mornings and we still were served our food amazingly quickly. Definite props to the kitchen staff. The servers are always attentive and a few of them even remember us now that we only go occasionally.

What great food options! LOVE the quinoa bowl. Light, tasty and very filling. I will return here when in the city again.

Been here a few times and each time I say I'm not going back. It's not that it's terrible, but it's not good either. Took my daughter this morning. Waited almost 30 minutes for a seat. No water offered to us though the waitress left two empty water glasses on the table. She also left 1/2 pot of coffee instead of a full pot. I ordered the seasonal special--pumpkin pancake, eggs and chicken apple sausage. I didn't taste any pumpkin or spices in the pancake at all, and it was gritty. I ordered the eggs over medium but got one over hard and one over easy. The sausage was different in that 'I'm trying to be polite' kind of way. My daughter thought her breakfast was "amazing" though she said her bacon was a little too dry for her taste. She had two eggs over hard, bacon and toast. And she's 9. So there you go.

Get stuck coming here for morning meetings and I'm never super excited about it. What really gets me is I can't stand their coffee. It's too acidic for my liking. I've contemplated bringing my own because if I'm gonna be stuck there in a meeting for an hour+, I want a good cup o'joe. Food wise they do have a large menu with pancakes, crepes, omelets, waffles, and even a decent "healthy section". I usually stick to their oatmeal with fresh fruit or their Tri Athlete Omelet as I'm not a huge fan of sweet and heavy breakfast items. But my co workers love the pancakes and waffles. Yes they have a lunch menu too, but I'm not familiar with it and have never had lunch here. I agree with some others that the service has a lot of room for improvement. Yes this place is very busy, but there's plenty of servers and somehow you still have to flag them down to take your order and refill your drinks. They seem to be friendly if they know you, but otherwise their lack of attention almost seems rude. I know some people rave about this place, but it just doesn't do it for me and it's not my first choice for morning meetings.

I have been to several First Watches since being introduced to them by my roomie. My favorite has been the one on hwy 69 and college. It also, seems to be everyone else's fav too because it's always packed!!! So I've passed this FW several times and finally decided to stopped in. We walked in and immediately got a seat. Wow, I'm amazed. I was in the mood for my usual belgium waffle (usually why I go to FW) Ordered and food is super fast to the table. Really!?!?! Ok, I am in love. My tri-fecta was per-fecta. Roomie got the works and wasn't that pleased with the omelet. I think she ordered the wrong thing, (she wanted avocados). She said she had to many "brunt crusties" from the pan of her FW potatoes. I don't usually like the FW potatoes but I actually liked these. So I told her to hush, they were good. It gets one less star from perfect because the server just didn't sit right with me. I'm use to the hwy 69 FW with pleasant conversations. Which is probably why that one is super busy and this one isn't. However the host/cashier was friendly. The free Wi-fi was great! Made for a nice yummy filled tummy morning.

Best breakfast in the area! Great specials every week and always friendly and accommodating employees.

We stayed in Olathe this past weekend and found First Watch on Yelp. We liked it. Service was attentive. Coffee was strong. Food was pretty good. We tried the Chickichanga and Sonoran Fritatta. I have to say the chickichanga was by far the best. At first I was turned off by the name, sounds weird. But I was so wrong. It is so delicious and flavorful, the santa fe sauce is killer. It is an amazing blend of avocado, spicy chicken and green chilies, the chorizo is undetectable. But it doesn't matter the rest is so good. The Sonoran Fritatta is an open-face omelette, which doesn't make it a fritatta. Even though the description says its made with whipped eggs, it wasn't light and fluffy. The chorizo was a bit bland and so was the fritatta itself. It was ok, just not as good as the chickichanga. If we lived in the area I would definitely go back and try something else. The place is clean, first came out quick, you can tell they know what they're doing.

Great breakfast joint. Went here at 9am on Sunday and it was BUSY. Good sign for a place like this. Wait staff was very helpful and the food was hot. Pancakes are the size of plates! One is definitely enough. Will certainly return!!

I'll start off with a disclaimer: I'm not a breakfast type of person. I don't wake up hungry and if I eat too soon after waking, it makes me queasy. I like to stick with liquid sustenance in the a.m. BUT. I am a biscuits and gravy aficionado and will venture out for a delicious plate of them for an occasional brunch. There are several joints in Kansas City that I will happily drag my ass to on a weekend morning to stuff my gullet and First Watch is not usually at the top of the list. I had a business meeting this morning, though, and my brunch buddy picked First Watch. Sigh. Besides the fact that I had to motor down to SOJOCO from downtown, I couldn't even look forward to a tasty brunch at Chubby's or Bluebird. Boo! The good: We only had to wait about 10 minutes which is much better than the 45-1hr wait you typically get at the College Blvd. location. Service was friendly and prompt. Food came out timely, hot and fresh. I like that you get an entire pitcher of water on your table so you don't have to rely on your waiter to fill up your glass. My fruit & yogurt crepe was ok...nothing spectacular. There's just nothing on this menu that excites me. The bad: I'm now sitting here in a dark cloud of regret like a hungover sorority girl after a drunken night at the fraternity house doing jaegerbombs and keg stands.

This place is the epitome of "Meh, I've experienced better." Maybe Bluebird and Bristol spoiled my view of what a real brunch should be like. Maybe I'm just mad because last time I went the waitress told me I couldn't have a pancake instead of an English muffin, even when I volunteered to pay an upcharge. Regardless, I'm just not that impressed with First Watch. The food = not bad. The service = not bad. The coffee = not bad. But nothing really stands out to me - except the fact that every time I go here, I come home with (spoiler alert!) diarrhea, and I'm always hungry an hour later. If that's not two-star worthy, I don't know what is.
(2)Courtney L.
This was so much better than I expected! I thought it would be one of those greasy spoon, breakfast joints. This place was packed and yet very clean and orderly. It's really bright and cheery inside. We were greeted promptly. The menu is huge! I really like their selection of healthier options and they have so many different ways to customize your food. I will go back there again for sure!
(4)Rebecca W.
First Watch is a great place to go for an early day meeting, family meal, or a girl's meet. Food is great and service is too, although it can get a little slow on really busy days. Omelets are fantastic, and huge. They have 'real' breakfast items or you can get healthier versions (like egg whites). Prices on the ala cart menu could be a little lower, but over all fair compared to the amount of food you get.
(4)Reed N.
If you stick to breakfast items, omelets and the flavorful chickichanga you will be OK. Venture too far from those items and you may get a 2-star experience.
(3)Wesley K.
nice quiant place!
(4)Aaron G.
I kinda like this place most days. If I don't get breakfast here, then it is usually at an ihop somewhere. One of the things that I don't like is the way they bring out the coffee. It's in this thermos looking container and it always feels like they only fill it up half way. Just between 2-3 people at one cup a piece and the thing is bone dry. I have a problem with places that are stingy with stuff like that. What I do like is the tri-athlete breakfast. Good, healthy meal that really get's the metabolism going. The egg whites have no flavor, but you can doctor them up with the salsa that they give you. It's a little pricey, but I don't mind going every once in a while. This particular First Watch is on the side of strip mall so there is adequate parking and although it is generally busy, you never really have to wait for a seat. You can usually eat and go here pretty easily.
(4)Kev L.
Gastronomically unfair pancakes. Decent drip coffee. Not too bad omelets. today was my first experience with the First Watch near my place. After looking up their website, I had no idea it was a pretty decent national chain. Regardless, I was satisfied with the service. Their pancakes let me tell you are definitely on the large size so unless you are a bottomless pit, stick to one or two at the most. I was not too impressed with the omelet however. It was slightly dry and firm in texture and not as flavorful as I expected, but it was still a good eat. I will be back again to try their other stuff.
(4)BEN K.
Not a bad breakfast, had a Sausage Skillet. Food was ok, service was excellent. Priced reasonable. Reasonable food, great sevice.
(3)Josh S.
We've been frequenting First Watch for years and we love it. Prices are great (not a lot more than fast food, but so much better!) and food is fresh. Try the Belgian waffle or the more ambitious Chickichanga.
(5)Russ K.
Ok, nothing special a typical breakfast, price reasonable, little to no flavor, any spices would help, bland.
(3)Diana L.
Love this place. Lots of healthy choices. Hard to make a choice. Our server was outstanding. The girl at the cash register was delightful. Really enjoyed the whole experience.
(4)Bryan M.
Good stuff. Great service at this location. Had breakfast. I've had lunch at Chesterfield, MO location - so, I'm not new to the brand. Omelette was a solid option - via venetto. Seems to be good size. Easy access from parking to table.

On Monday (May 4th about 11am) we stopped in for another great brunch at first watch. Jessica stopped by to check on us often and was quick to fulfill our requests (we had asked for a few complicated extras to go along with or meal). The Bubbas Benny was delicious. Good portion size and cooked very well. Acapulco omelet was great too. We asked to speak with the manager, Brian, and thanked him for the great service. We also made a small suggestion regarding how they could improve the customer experience even more. He was responsive and seemed happy to talk with us. First watch is a great restaurant with delicious food and a fun, casual, and laid back environment. Prices are fair for the quality food we order. We always enjoy visiting. Thanks first watch!
(4)Alexandra S.
good greasy breakfast, after a long time no night of drinking and socializing. The service was slow and the place was packed. But it was an overall good experience.
(4)Michael B.
My wife and I love this place! We check in on the app NoWait and never have to wait more than a few minutes. We come in almost every Saturday morning and the wait staff knows exactly what we each order to drink and bring it out without us saying a word. They continue to be very attentive and the food is amazing. Served quick, hot and rarely any errors. If something isn't right they fix it without delay.
