Great family service where the food is fresh made to order and arrives at the table very quickly. I ordered the Trucker Omlette which puts other breakfast joints omelettes to shame. Navigating the road construction is well worth this heaven on a plate.

First time having breakfast here, gotta say it was pretty tasty. My reason for 4 instead of 5 is value. Prices a little steep for breakfast but otherwise enjoyed it. I had the Truck Stop omelette loaded with hash browns, sausage and cheese inside 4 eggs. Usually go here for a burger but I'll be back for breakfast.

This ain't my Broadway Town Topic. The service was good. The burger was not quite the same. I think the flat top grill lacks the seasoned aspect of the Broadway location. But getting handed a sticky cup of soda, sitting at a sticky table on a sticky floor just kind of ruined it for me here.

Nasty beef taste in the burger, it is just cheap. You get what you pay for and i paid $10 for a burger which was not worth it, fries same as mcdonalds just unsalted. Won t come back for sure.

A good diner burger. Not exceptional. Very greasy. Size was appropriate for price. The rings were above average. Not the frozen variety. The patty melt looked good and will try next time. They had handmade shakes and malts. They looked Amazing!!!

After living in Mission for a couple years I finally got to try Town Topic over the weekend. We both ordered the two egg breakfast combo with coffee...everything was brought over to our table quickly and exactly as ordered. It's not the most welcoming environment, which is why I'm holding back on the 5th star. But it definitely does the trick on a Saturday morning when you want a fresh-cooked, greasy breakfast.

this is the greasy dive you love! breakfast is tasty and burgers are good in that old dive bar kinda way baby! not a soccer mom joint

Bad service. Dirty looks from people eating associated with employees. Didn't have 1/2the menu downtown has. No tots? Really. The soda machine was out if 1/2 what was offered. The atmosphere is edgy. Probably should shut down. Sorry, I'm just the customer and it was more awkward than it needed to be. When you have a table full of really fat and scraggly looking people giving you dirty looks, you kinda don't want to cone back either. All I did was try to order food.

It is what it is. And that is an honest, pedestrian greasy spoon. I'm from a small town...I know from vaguely grungy diners; they are staples of my childhood. Vaguely grungy diners are fine by me, if the food tastes good. I'm of course, talking ACTUAL vaguely grungy diners, not places trying to approximate the diner experience in a sanitized, kitschy way. Town Topic is pretty much the real deal. And the food I had tasted good. I've only had Town Topic's breakfast sandwich...which is not a fancy, bagel-or-english-muffin-or-challah-swathed affair, obviously. Just two slices of toast (white or wheat), an egg, meat of your choice, and cheese if you like. None too different than I'd make at home, but I don't have to make it. And cheap. The coffee was surprisingly good, and fresh, sometimes diner coffee can be swill. Real half and half, not nondairy creamer. I can't speak to their burgers, only breakfast, but I'd go back for it. It's little, fills quickly, you order at the counter, nothing about it is fancy, works for me when I'm in that mood.

Good diner. Pork Tenderloin was good as were the portions. Fries could have had more taste for sure. I have heard this restaurant isn't a good representation for the other two locations, but the food was good enough to return. Certainly pales in comparison to other similar places around town such as the Snack Shack, but does offer more variety (including all day breakfast) and is good for the price.

This place is nothing like the locations in downtown KCMO. They are all greasy spoons, but this place is a complete dump. The food sucks, the plates and coffee mugs are all chipped and stained, and the restaurant is excessively dirty. I will never go back here.

I have driven by this location for quite some time and then recently went a couple weeks back. I love breakfast places and sometime I just need a throwback to the old school diner. It's what I grew up around and they definitely deliver the old school. The food comes out hot, the food tastes the same every time and that's about it. The coffee is nothing special, but call me strange for just liking simple black throwback coffee. The service is nothing special, but I'm not expecting it. It's quiet, it's local, and hey since I went a couple weeks back I've been back at least 4 times. So, if you want a place with no tricks and a place that simply serves it up old school then come here. It's greasy, it's good and I'll keep coming back.

After driving past here countless times, I finally decided to give them a whirl today. I've never had a burger from Town Topic, downtown or at this location. For some reason, it always just sounded like late night food from my understanding. Well, I should have listened because that's exactly what this is, late night food. It reminded me a Steak and Shake with a ton more grease. The fries have nearly no flavor, but they do give you a huge portion. Sorry, but I won't be back. Now to wipe my hands off again from all the grease.

Before going to the shooting range (a man's weekend of bbq and shooting guns), my friend and I decided to get a snack...i.e. a double cheeseburger. The double cheeseburger was a little bigger than what you would expect at McDonalds and definitely better...but then again, that's not saying much. The burger patties were very thin but I did like how the cheese was melted in between them and within the cheese was sauteed onions. However, the thing was dripping with grease which made me wish that I hadn't gotten the tomato and lettuce. The cheeseburger was still good, just not something that I'd go out of my way for. Service was pretty good. The place looks like a run down diner. They had some pretty good breakfast deals. I might be tempted to give a better rating after trying the breakfast. Right now, this place is just ok.

Greasy and not in a good way I really wanted to like this Town Topic as much as the one on Broadway. But I just couldn't... $2 double burger. It started at .99 then adding cheese + lettuce and tomato made it about $2. The lettuce instantly wilted to brownish green yuck. It had to be removed immediately. They used some type of leaf lettuce that was a very bad choice. Don't pay for it. The bun was soaked through with grease to where it was becoming opaque. Of course the sautéd onions were great like. Onion rings were good. I did really enjoy them, but they are not made from scratch. The fries were sitting around for a while, if they were fresh they have a good chance to be likable. Otherwise these were cold and soggy. The best thing was the milkshakes. They were super thick, so thick that I couldn't get it through my straw for the first few minutes. Awesome! They were made by hand and even had the little icey chunks in it. 5 stars for the milk shake. Overall I think we received a not up to par bunch of cooks that day. Maybe next time..

I like to go here about once per month. Good double cheeseburgers and great onion rings. Fries and hamburgers are okay. The workers at the KCMO location seem less creepy, but sometimes you want a greasy lunch with a milkshake, this is the place to go...
(3)J B.
My favorite place for a "greasy spoon" burger and fries or onion rings. Not your style if you're looking for a thick angus bar burger. I just miss all the good specials they used to have. Can't eat here as often as I used to

It's a greasy diner with a jukebox and a diner menu! I had a sugary oleaginous plate of french toast. With a light taste of cinnamon and sugar it was pleasing. My partner in eating had biscuits and gravy. It too was adept at diner food. The service was good, and I can say I might return if my aortas don't clog.

While looking for a good hole in the wall burger joint I stumbled upon town topic. If you enjoy a cheap greasy burger with grilled onions, which any red blooded American can appreciate, and some addicting fries town topic is calling your name.

I have heard about this place for years and thought mabye it is time to try it so I went in. I had to go outside and down a set of stairs just to wash my hands and it was dark and I was waiting for someone to attack me. The food was not that great and the place looks like it should be torn down. I would not go back.
(1)Jeff J.
Went here with my mom--thanks mom! What a delight--old fashioned seating, jukebox and a truckers omelette that was insanely good! The waitress was very kind. One strange thing is that to use the bathroom, you have to go outside and down some stairs. This place is well worth a visit!

Is a small place, With great hamburgers for the hang over. All week they have a 99cent double hamburger special. And you are allowed to smoke in the restraunt. For those of you who smoke.

Speaking of stomach aches....I really can't stomach this place, but my husband seems to enjoy the super greasy burgers and fries. Eeeeewww.....
