Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Perfectly competent Chinese kitchen. Not a typical mom and pop operation - a bit bigger with younger Chinese guys roaming around and doing the accounting on unused tables during the lunch service, some Chinese-only specials advertised and some Caucasian front-of-house staff. Also not your typical menu - some variations and creative things. Cooking was perfectly fine, without being exceptional in any way. Big, clean dining room. Sparse.

Best. Asian. Food. Ever. Clean, well lit, large space. Booze! Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. I am 650 miles away from Mongolian Beef. 'sigh'

WHY OH WHY?!?!?! Since my initial review I've frequented this establishment about twice month with growing disappointment. I'll bullet my points so you don't have to read paragraphs: -Food quantity per serving has shrank considerably -Food QUALITY has changed, to include several recipes (many of the sauces have changed to black bean sauces with a hit of spicy oil or sesame oil) -Service - Most of the servers there are still adequate to say the least, but one young asian gal, other than her general lack of knowledge regarding the menu, her rudeness is top of the charts. Argumentative, unwilling to find out answers to questions she doesn't know, or just downright rude (checking text as we're trying to order) this girl does it all As such, after today's abysmal lunch, I'll never frequent the place again. I can honestly say that I'm super sad, because as you can tell from my original review, this place was the diamond in the rough. Now, it's more trash chinese food in a college town where no one cares about quality. They get one star because they've fallen so far from what they were.

Love this place! Order from there almost everyday. Convenient online order system. Great customer service. Called me today that my order price is a little bit more than it shows on my order due to added some side white rice and condiments for my online order. Online order is actually processed at the restaurant and charged. This is something that I didn't know before. Will go eat and do Karaoke there with my friends tonight.

I won't deny that the food is decent. I have never written a terrible review of a restaurant bc I have always given the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was a bad day, but last night's service warrants this review. Do NOT go here if you have any sort of group and want to eat/drink/be merry. When I made reservations, I placed a food order so that the kitchen would not be overwhelmed with our group. We decided to order more food. Our actual server was on the other side of his room standing with his arms crossed desperately trying to avoid eye contact. The manager yelled at me when I asked to confirm that the additional food actually was placed (our drinks were butchered and none of the servers seemed to know what was going on). Turns out that our server assigned to our table was only pretending to not know English very well. Our additional food order was placed 40 minutes after arriving. We still didn't have the food that was ordered when I made the reservation. We had 4 different servers weaving in and out from our table. When the topic of our group's additional order for more food not actually reaching the kitchen came up, he spoke perfect English. Cue manager screaming at me some more in front of family that flew in from NJ, AZ, VA, and CA. Only 1/2 the group got plates which were tiny appetizer plates and could barely hold a scoop of rice. We never got utensils (we ended up grabbing them ourselves). Someone else's food was brought to us. Never got our waters refilled. Had to ask 3 separate times for serving spoons. Never again. Customer service here is a joke stemming from their terrible owners.

Massive portions. They deliver the lunch specials. Never very busy but so far not a single bad dish.

Do not support this business. They are awful. I was sick and got soup delivered to my house which is only a few blocks away. After 45 min I called and they said it takes 45 min to an hour to deliver the food. After 1 hour and 15 minutes I called and they said that it was on it's way out the door. Finally, after 2 hours they delivered my food and it was cold and gross. I called and demanded a refund back and the girl who answered the phone said that it was taken care of and would be taken off my bill. Two days later when it was still on my bank statement I called and talked to the manager who had no idea about it and then said she would refund my money back. They still have not refunded the money to me and it has been three weeks. I have just given up and refuse to support this business. They treat their customers crappy and do not care about anything but money. The food sucks, the service sucks, the management sucks.

By far the most Authentic Chinese food in town. Tasty Sichuan food, and they have great hotpot.

A couple disclaimers here: I'm a few months late on this review, and I can't comment on their food because we never got to try it personally; I'll give them one and a half though because our friends have said it's great. We were really, really excited to try it, so after sleeping in super late while visiting friends we decided to have some delivered so we didn't have to get around yet. Lazy, but we were pretty hungover, why else would you go to Manhattan? We placed 3 orders right at 11am when they opened, and they told us it would be about 30 minutes. We were only a little over a mile away, so they must not have been prepped to open like they should have been. About 45 minutes later our food arrived. Except not really. One order arrived. A few minutes later when they didn't come back with the other 2 orders we called and were informed that they lost our other orders. How long would it take to replace our lost orders? An hour and a half. Seriously? We got ready instead and went to HyVee. Not to mention the order that wasn't received that had been paid with a credit card was still charged. Apparently they didn't lose that part of the order. My friend was able to work it out with the credit card company though. Definitely don't care to deal with this place again since they clearly don't care about customer service.

We have gone to Tasty China House since week 1 of their opening. After experiencing some of the WORST Chinese food at every establishment in Manhattan, KS....we gave it a shot as our last bastion of hope and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere, good portions and good food. Well that was all back in March '12 and here it is June '12 and we just ate there for the last time. Today's food was all disappointing......everything that we liked, all the flavors, are gone. Every dish that was good, tastes completely different. There is no consistency on portion size or dish taste from one dining experience to the next. Not to mention that some of the wait staff can be argumentative with the customer. The first straw was our visit in May that resulted in a Bulgogi (admittedly Korean) dish that was made with black bean sauce......easily recognizable as such, when there are black beans throughout the sauce. Well when mentioned to the waitress, instead of checking on the issue or even conceding that the dish contained black beans....she argued that nothing was different, yet the 4 times we had had the dish before, it contained no beans and tasted COMPLETELY different. Just ordered kung pao beef made spicier than imaginable, and what came back was a mild beef dish that tasted nothing like any kung pao or even their kung pao of past orders. To sum it up, we were elated to finally have a place to sate our occasional Chinese food craving, unfortunately this restaurant did what so many tend to do.....woo you in the beginning and then slack when they think they've got you hooked. Well not me, I will not be going back, nor will I be sad about it and I will be sure to let all those that I raved about it to, know this as well.

Just got my food delivered 10 minutes ago, and my wife found a hair in it. I don't see how hard it is to wear a hair net while working. Its one of the easiest things to avoid considering the impact it makes on a person when they find a hair in their food. Won't be ordering it again.

The best in Manhattan Kansas! This is not a buffet, so the food was served not and very fresh, full of flavor! Yes, this is where we will go when wanting Chinese food!

Bottom Line Up Front: General Tso's chicken is on point. Clean and spacious restaurant. I am Chinese (kind of) and I approve... We were walking around in Aggieville Saturday night and decided to grab some chinese food before heading back to the house. The only dish I ever get from a chinese joint is general tso's chicken. The food was made in a timely manner, we waited at the bar area. As for the bar, they had one beer on tap, Boulevard. They had a decent wine and sake selection and cheap prices for beer but you can tell no one really comes here to drink alcohol. Back to the food. Upon opening the box, we realized that they packed a hefty portion of rice, half of the box to be exact. Alot more than I've ever seen, a bit of an overkill but not a real issue. The chicken had a good amount of sauce and nice red/orange color to it, not too dark like some places. We were pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was! Have to rank it in the top 3 I've ever tried. I also ordered the crab rangoons. It tasted fresh and had a decent crunch to it but it did not come with sweet and sour sauce. Do not know if they just forgot to pack it or what but crab rangoons HAVE to come with some sort of dipping sauce. They also did not pack flatware or napkins. Even with the minor issues, they are easy fixes, just got to check the contents before leaving. The quality of the food will keep me coming back again.

I went to TCH yesterday for dinner, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I only eat fish now and they surprisingly had a lot of options for me including many wonderful fish dishes. The restaurant overall is very nice. The staff is very friendly, the food isn't very pricey, and the portions are certainly big. Furthermore, I would recommend TCH to anyone in Manhattan who is looking to dine in or get take-out from. The only problem I had was with the fried rice, my dish came with "friend rice" and it was solely just brown rice. Now eggs or carrots or peas which was quite disappointing UPDATE Recently went back to TCH and it was a mess. Our waiter got all 3 of our orders wrong and he only comped our appetizers. It took 45 minutes to get my and a friends meal out and my boyfriend was already done eating by that time. Would consider going somewhere else.

My second time eating at TCH and it's now my go-to Chinese restaurant! First off, this place actually uses real lo-mein noodles, unlike the other restaurants in town. The food was fresh, prepared well and most of all, tasty!

I love the boiled beef and double cooked pork!! Easily my favorite Chinese food restaurant in Manhattan, Kansas. Very clean and good service. I'll be sure to come back again.

Great food and quality! This is a go-to Chinese restaurant especially those craving days or even a quick bite to eat. It is authentic and the owner is really nice. She puts effort in ensuring everyone is happy and leaves satisfied. As I experienced with Chinese restaurants all over the U.S. it's either really good or really bad. This is a restaurant worth trying. It is the best compared to the ones around town.

Not good this time. I have had delivery from here a couple times, and usually it is pretty decent. However this time it wasn't. I ordered Generel Tso chicken, but the stuff I got tasted much more like orange chicken and had a very thin unflavorful sauce. Also I ordered extra spicy, but there was almost no spicy taste at all. Honestly it was a poor excuse for this dish. I also got fried rice with it... TONS and TONS of rice. That may sound like a good thing but the rice tasted rather old and had little flavor. There was just so much of it that it was almost falling out the sides of the container, for the amount of meat there was about 6 times as much rice and that is not an exaggeration. So my entry consisted of a decent amount of bland, strange tasting chicken that wasn't spicy in the least with about a pound or two of bland old fried rice. Not impressed. I also ordered some wonton soup, which wasn't too bad. It was however exceptionally salty, so much so that I couldn't finish it. I also got some taro root bubble tea, and for all intents and purposes it was fine. So don't get your hope up with this place, it's decent but my meal cost $19 excluding the tip, and really i don't think I got my money's worth. $24 with a tip should have gotten me better food.

Unfortunately we ordered food to be delivered when it was raining and the address got mixed up multiple times so it took 4 hours to receive our food (not exaggerating) and it gave me food poisoning. I wish I was making this up, because the food tasted amazing but I guess something just didn't sit right with me
