If you've moved here from out of town and you're looking for that Mexican restaurant that has that familiar menu, this is the place. The food is exactly what you expect and the bottomless chips and salsa always hits the spot.

Not bad at all for authentic Mexican food in manhattan, which is so hard to come by.

OMG this place is pretty bad. Chips and salsa were OK, but it was downhill from there. Soft taco was totally uninspired and overstuffed with unauthentic Tex-Mex ground beef. The "chile relleno" was a mound of refried beans and melted white cheese oozing with oil. It took effort to detect little bits of green chile here and there. By far the worst chile relleno I've ever had.

This place was pretty good. The best Mexican I have had in town so far. I have tried 3 others and they were OK.

Good food. One entree is big enough to get two meals out if it.

I would suggest either this place or El Tapatio if you want real Mexican food here in manhattan. I think this place has the better salsa and bigger chimichanga than Tapatio but they are both pretty good. Definitely ask for red chile salsa when you come in if you like spicy stuff. Whenever I come here I get the chimichanga or fajitas. Both can be split in two meals and the price is always right.

Chips and salsa were good. But my food had no flavor to it. I may give it another chance and see if it's any better.

As a native Californian, this is by far the most authentic Mexican food restaurant in Manhattan. The bottomless chips and salsa are quite good. Fajitas are possibly the best deal on the menu. You receive a TON of food and the meat comes out sizzling hot (as fajitas always should be). Service is friendly and relatively attentive. They accommodate large groups and they do not mind splitting checks. Favorite dish was the Fajita Chimichanga. Very hearty and filling plus it is huge! Definitely good for 1-2 more meals after the fact.

I love La Fiesta. It's my go-to restaurant in Manhattan when nobody can figure out what they want to eat. It's relatively authentic Mexican food, it's very clean, the margaritas are great, and it's crazy fast. It's very hard to suggest Mexican food to people because what a person considers good Mexican food varies largely upon where they first started eating it. If you mostly grew up eating Mexican food in the midwest, then you'll probably love La Fiesta.

Authentic Mexican Traditional, not fancy, economic. Traditional Mexican food, not tex-Mex. You could complain about the excess of carbs, or repetitive ingredients, but you get what you are promised

The food is really not very good. I think the main reason it's so popular is the margaritas, and the fact that they often will check ID's that clearly say the person isn't 21 and will serve anyway. The tortillas have a rubbery texture to them, and the meat is of fairly low quality. I did enjoy the sopapillas...can't mess those up. The atmosphere is good though, as it's almost always busy and the colorful decor is really fun. The staff are usually friendly enough, but don't expect anything but the minimum amount of friendliness.

Loved it! Great service. Food was very good and no long wait although they were quite busy on a Friday night. The plate had loads of eye-appeal and veggies were freshly cut. Wow. La Fiesta also has a colorful, fun atmosphere. It's a bit hidden but the structure of the shopping center. I say that because there's an enclosed sidewalk across the front of the whole center which obscures the storefronts, but protects customers from the elements. Check out La Fiesta!

Several reviewers said this place was as good as places they had eaten at in southern California. They must have eaten at bad Mexican restaurants there, too. Lunch special #1. Chile relleno, chicken taco and beans. There was no whole chile there, thus no batter coating. The beans were more like soup and the whole thing was covered in cheese and microwaved. The result was globs of greasy, cheese separated nastiness. The taco was soggy, but at least it tasted like chicken. The place was packed around noon for lunch, so apparently people like this stuff. Certainly NOT good Mexican food.

My mom and I went for dinner one night. I had the chicken fajitas. They came out sizzling and tasted amazing. My mom had the chicken, mushroom and spinach quesadillas. She said she loved it. I had a margarita and believe me they do NOT skimp on the alcohol. The server didnt speak great english but he was trying and he was very polite. Will go again!!

The margaritas are awesome and they make the best quesadillas.

Par for the course as Mexican restaurants go. I was impressed with the vegetable medley for the fajitas but the meat was only so-so.

We were in town to visit our daughter who is attending KState and headed here for a late lunch. It was OK. Some things good, some - not so much. The decor is nice and bright - like a party ;)! The service was great throughout the meal. We had 6 thirsty people drinking water and eating chips and salsa and we didn't have to look around and wonder when we were getting refills. The chicken dinners and fajitas were great. My daughter had chicken tacos and her friend had a quesadilla which was huge. They said they chicken meat was flavorful. I had the lunch portion fajitas. They didn't come out on a "sizzle" plate, but they were good. I had the mixed chicken and steak. Decent amount of meat, the vegetables were good and well seasoned. The rice was decent also. Then, the ground beef. My husband ordered nachos. They were literally only meat cheese and chips. The ground beef did not have any seasoning or flavor. He took some of my veggies and then smothered them with salsa to get some flavor. My son had the ground beef tacos. Same thing, no flavor. Will we come back? Probably. Our daughter is going to be here for 4 years (at least) and we love tex-mex/Mexican food. But we will stay away from the ground beef. Chicken or steak for us, please.

LONG THICK BLACK HAIR IN MY FOOD. They got my order of $10.50 (which is a ridiculous price to begin with) carne tacos wrong. I paid that much for ONLY meat, no toppings. My Chile Relleno was SO SALTY and had meat in it that I would compare to dog food. It was not even something I would call chile Relleno , a few shreds of chile mixed with SALT, DOG FOOD, and old cheese. The I get to the end of a sad pathetic burrito (which consisted of dry chicken and some slim pieces of green pepper) I found it.... A LONG THICK BLACK HAIR. I AM SO EXTREMELY DISGUSTED I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I cannot believe people would consider this authentic Mexican food. Disgusting.

My favorite mexican place in Manhattan. The service is always so great. I love their burritos with red sauce, there is always enough leftover for lunch the next day. The margaritas are really good, I would recommend the strawberry. I think on Mondays they are half price.

La Fiesta is one of my favorite places to eat in Manhattan. The decor is bright and festive, the wait staff is typically attentive and the food is prepared quickly. I try to eat a new menu item each time I go and am rarely disappointed. Your dollar goes far at La Fiesta. Definitely check out their white queso and lime margarita - on the rocks.

If you want strictly Mexican this is the best Mexican restaurant in Manhattan. They have a traditional menu, nothing out of the ordinary. It is average for other areas but for our area there is not much competition so I scored it higher. Good and fast service. Reasonable prices. Good place for margaritas and birthdays. Private room for larger parties. Recommend for good Mexican in Manhattan.

Margaritas were good. If you just want a couple of drinks with some chips and salsa than give it a try. Food?? not so much. Had the Chili Verde and tamales on my first trip. Not good at all. The carnitas in my chili Verde were WAY overcooked and most likely old. The tamales, while full of a generous portion of meat, had no flavor. My second..and last trip I tried the fajitas (which isn't really Mexican food by the way). Again, large portions of flavorless food. I really tried to like this place as I hear everybody talk about it but frankly there is better in town

The margaritas are great and anywhere from 12 to 64oz!!! The staff is also great and friendly... Burrito Jalisco is my favorite.

I was looking forward to a good Mexican fare and was left wanting. The chicken flautas were overcooked and dry and the order was not made as requested. The waiter had a language barrier, didn't know the menu or both. I am in town on business and what should have been reasonably priced meal was $20 because the waiter insisted that what I wanted had to be ordered a la carte. Flautas, rice and beans. Don't think I'll be back. Staff couldn't even be bothered to look up as I left to say thank you or good night. Quite unsatisfied.

I'm glad that La Fiesta is in the small town of Manhattan. It offers decent to great Mexican food at good, competitive prices compared to other Mexican restaurants. The margaritas are also delicious.

I wouldn't call it "authentic." They don't have tongue tacos or anything like that. But the food is tasty and I've always had good fast service here, even on busy nights. Going there for birthdays is fun. The waiters put a sombrero on your head and sing to you, then one of them acts like he's going to spoon-feed you your fried ice cream and smears it on your face, instead. Hilarity ensues.

There was no wait and the food was excellent! Best Mexican I've had in a while. The server was pleasant and attentive and the restaurant was very clean. We thought we left our daughter's mittens there and the staff moved our table and booth seats to look for them. :)

Delicious authentic Mexican food and tasty margaritas! Perfectly seasoned beef entrees and always more than you can eat! The service is fast and efficient. Our Grandsons love to eat there!

As far as I am concerned this is the best Mexican restaurant in manhattan and surrounding area. Chips and salsa and queso is the the best. Beef and Chicken fajitas are amazing!

Good chips and salsa to start, we got some cheese dip too and it was good. I ordered the combo # 13 which is a burrito, an enchilada and a chile relleno. The plate was super hot since they put the plate under a salamander or broiler to melt the cheese and the food was piping hot, which I like. The flavor was good overall, but I was interested in the fact that they make their chile rellenos different than any other Mexican restaurant I've got them from. The norm is a poblano stuffed with cheese, battered and fried, then served with a sauce and cheese over it. (Their menu calls those just a poblano child, I think) Their version of a chile relleno is a poblano with meat and cheese just cooked, then it was topped with more cheese. It was a bit heavy.

Flautas I've tried in other Mexican restaurants are usually light and crispy, and the chicken is moist and flavorful. In comparison, the shell for the chicken flautas at La Fiesta were a bit over fried, while the chicken was slightly on the dry side and tasted bland. The restaurant gives each customer a small dish of salsa, but it tasted like store bought salsa (eg. Pace Salsa)

COnsidering this is MAnhattan Kansas, La Fiesta is really pretty good. The chips and salsa are endless and I like that the salsa has cilantro in it. Their guacamole is also outstanding. . The portions are generous and I never leave here hungry. I favor their chicken enchiladas or quesadillas, altho. the fajitas are tasty, also with leftovers for the next day to take home. The best Mexican in Manhattan for sure.

There is nothing bad that I can say about this place. It is by all means the best Mexican food in Manhattan. Excellent prices, very fast service, and the staff are friendly. The atmosphere is colorful and welcoming. If I did have to complain about one thing it is that the chairs can be somewhat uncomfortable. If you are in Manhattan and you like Mexican food, you have to try this place out.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
