It's good BBQ! Everyone has their preference, and Dave's will definitely meet your needs. More STL style, but with plenty of sauce to cover all the bases. Check them out if you're in the neighborhood!

Meh. I've experienced better. They cater to the unhealthy side of BBQ pretty well. Plenty of stuff to fill your butt and give you food coma, but nothing really offered to balance the meal and have it remain healthy. Wanted something like, roasted veggie options for sides, things that didn't have added sugar, a decent salad side or substitute option. It's one thing to glorify BBQ, it's another thing to glorify the gluttonous side of it. It doesn't have to be gluttonous. Balance it out guys.

I had the brisket sandwich with baked beans, and it was OK. I thought that the brisket was too fatty, and I had to put a lot of sweet and zesty barbecue sauce on it to make up for the lack of flavor from the meat. The bartender was very helpful with telling me about the barbecue sauces, since this was my first time eating here. It kinda tasted like Colter's BBQ in Texas, which is pretty bad, but its the closest thing I can get to BBQ, without going to Kansas City, or back home to Texas. This place gets 3 out of 5 from me, just because the staff was good, but the food is mediocre.

I've only visited this place twice and both times I was not disappointed. The times I was there the service was good. Server was attentive, and the food was delicous. I was with family and ordered a big platter that had, bbq, ribs, chicken, enough for 7 people and had some leftovers. the drinks are good too but just a little pricey (thats my small complant) For the amount of food I think the price is good. If I visit Manhattan and feel like BBQ, this is where I will go..

For the price I paid for "really good famous bbq" I was really disappointed. I came in for a xmas party so I will give them benefit of the doubt they were busy. However, bbq should be made a day sooner so the wait to get your food shouldn't be long because all the kitchen should have to do is heat it up and send it. I had the 2 meat combo with pulled pork and brisket. Both were very small in portion and extremely dry in taste so much i saturated it in bbq sauce to eat it. I will go somewhere else in the future.

The food here is very good, and the prices are great. Despite being a chain, I consider this one of my favorite barbecue places in all of Kansas.

Food was jus ok... was not busy but seated in the bar area with my 2 kids. Server was rude not only to me but ignored my cheerful 4yr. Had to ask for everything constantly. Drinks were left empty , she spent more time at the table with the soldiers than ours flirting. I was so upset i didn't even tip her. Couldn't wait to leave. Wont be back again definitely not kid friendly.

I had the ribs and Texas brisket. Burnt ends appetizer. Great fast service they kept the drinks coming. Never had an empty glass all night. Friendly wait staff with a family fun atmosphere. The food selection was very diverse for the BBQ lover or the not so love BBQ person. The sauce was good and meat well cooked but not dry. Cornbread is amazing and not to sweet.

We go to Famous Dave's every time we visit my family - so once or twice a year. It's a chain restaurant, and pretty noisy (no matter how many people are there), but the bbq is good. I'm a big fan of the sauces, the spicy pickles and the sausage.

Great food. Tried the rib tips for the first time tonight...awesome. Great service and serving sizes. Always have lunch for tomorrow. Good prices for the amount.

Despite being a chain, this may be best BBQ in Manhattan, but that's not saying much if you see my other review BBQ in town. Their menu has a lot of different styles of BBQ: St Louis Ribs, Georgia pulled pork, Texas brisket, and pacific northwest salmon (not sure how that qualifies, but my coworker has loved it both times we have been here). This place is pretty big, good for kids and families, and has a decent bar... Which is all good considering how many military people we see here each time. My one problem with this place both times is the (lack of) service. They must need more servers and kitchen staff because there is such thing as a fast lunch or drink refills here.

Food was ok the southern ribs were a little tough It said they had a Memphis-style dry rub but there was no rub on the meat Wife had Georgia-style pulled pork and said it was good Portions were large Wait staff were nice and attentive

They do big events (50 or more) fantastically. If you are planning a Hail and Farewell, do it here. The food is good, it is family friendly, and generally pretty quiet if you sit in the back room by the bar.

Had sandwiches (pulled pork and the TEXAS MANHANDLER) Food was tasty. But portions were almost a joke (the joke's in your hand kind of joke). Way small. NOTE TO FAMOUS DAVE: If you're going to have an menu item called "TEXAS MANHANDLER" (for $9.95) which is actually on a bun about the size of a Happy Meal Burger, at LEAST put it on a "plate" that doesn't dwarf it. You embarrass yourself with that item--epsecially considering $7 will get a hefty, lean and tasty sandwich at Bates City or at Oklahoma Joes (not in Manhattan, yet). I don't have any alternate reco's in Manhappnin' but it's probably worth investigating Pat's in Aggieville before waiting for a table at Infamous Dave's. Pleasant service. Decent food. (Tho the rub was very salty.) Not even close to being a good value.

Flies. Not a good sign, especially in September. Ordered beef brisket. Took two bites and was done. Fatty, greasy and gross. Portion for side dishes were small for the price. Tiny basket of fries, dollop of cole slaw and little cup of mashed potatoes. The "garlic" mashed potatoes were bland and I swear just came out of microwave, menu describes them as having milk added, that's what they taste like, milk. Cole slaw was way too sweet and fries dry and stale. Only reason I don't give it 1 star is that the manager picked up the tab when we left 90% uneaten.

This was my second time here and I was pretty unimpressed. Service is good and fast, but the food is only alright at best. I was dissapointed because there had been so much hype. Plus, the menu is small and doesn't have much to choose from, leaving you with a limited selection whereas BBQ should have a pretty endless selection. The sauces are alright. It just wasn't a BBQ legend sort of place. I find that the creepy establishments that BBQ are 100x better.

Unenthusiastic BBQ, uninspired sides. Famous Dave himself is a BBQ legend but it just doesn't translate to the national level.

At first I was skeptical about Famous Dave's because it's a chain, and they have restaurants in California, where BBQ doesn't have the same following. The service was friendly and the food was good. The place is decorated in crazy BBQ and pork-related signs.

My wife and I have been to Famous Dave's here in Manhattan (KS) and in Omaha (NE). We go there for lunch and find the prices very reasonable and the food & service keep us coming back. My favorites are the St Louis style ribs, Wilbur's beans and the corn bread. Wish there was a FD in San Antonio.

Awesome. Recommended by a friend, and we were super impressed. Good friendly service, delicious food, and comfortable, inviting atmosphere. The only complaint we had was leaving so full we could barely walk.

Love this place. The platter is always worth it. However, it is one of those places that screw up every now and then. Sometimes the usually very moist and tasty corn bread will come out very dry. And sometimes they run out of a certain dish.
