About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. If i could give this place zero stars i would. Crappy service! We waited 30 minutes before the waitress came and asked us what we wanted to drink. Ended up leaving right after that. The reviews are right, do no eat here. Its a waste of time!

Applebee's in general is one of those hit or miss places depending on location. This particular Applebee's is by far one of the worst I've patronized, and I've been to many a Applebee's. I'll just describe the problems I had with this one in Manhattan, KS. Our waiter was not at all attentive. He was slow to refill drinks and to take our credit card once we received the check. Apparently, he didn't know what was going on with our appetizer which we received cold AFTER our meal. We sent back the appetizer and it took forever to get it the second time as well. This could either have been a kitchen issue or a waiter issue, but I deem it inexcusable to receive an appetizer after the actual meal. The restaurant was not busy either. If you're in the Manhattan area and debating on places to eat, do not even consider this one. This comes from a girl who loves her some Applebee's.

This Applebee's is awful!!! I keep giving this place the benefit of the doubt but service has been absolutely horrible each time and my boyfriend got food poisoning from the under cooked wings they served us!! The first time I visited this location we were not greeted for a good half hour and when we finally were it was by a server who wasn't even ours. Last night it took 45 minutes to receive 2 beers and a milk shake. Don't waste your time or money!!

Not bad service for me, food was quick, server was attentive. All around pleasant experience. The only downside is my potato was a little under done. But, overall not bad!

Ordered from the 2 for $25 menu. The boneless buffalo wings came out and were not fully cooked in the center. The server and manager handled it well. (otherwise would be one star review) I was going to give them a pass and just not leave a review at all. However, after the fact I am reading other reviews I see another review from January where there wings were also under cooked. Side Note: I've eaten at this location one other time a year and half ago without any issue.

I work at the mall so it's nice to have a good restaurant so close by. The other food chooses are pizza and pizza. Lunch specials are pretty legit. Every Monday they have a burger special and large PBRs are 1.99 all day. I usually sit at the bar and get really good service by Israel. Also ask for Andrew or Kayla. Both really good servers. Try the quesadilla burger!

Went to Applebee's this evening with my family and I left with one thought. I will not return again. Service was slow, although the restaurant was nearly empty. Our waitress was not very attentive and lacked personality, Food took way to long to be served to us. Drinks were not refilled. Never came to check once food was served and the list goes on and on. Who knows maybe this waitress was having a bad day. Then again could be a reflection on the management team. Still left a good tip.

This experience will be the first and last here. I placed a order over the phone and they said 20 mins. I headed out 8:45pm to arrive at 9:20pm just to wait. The bartender ignored me and my son and no one bothered to ask if I needed something since I was just sitting n waiting. I got my food @ 9:45 to go home and notice that it was cold, chicken dry, mozzarella sticks so cold that the cheese was hard. This place sucks Big Time.

Well the good news is Applebee's claims to offer "Car-side to go" now. The bad news is Applebee's doesn't seem to know what that means. This most recent experience will be the last at Applebee's for my family and I. As someone that values customer service almost more than the food itself I've decided I can walk into a Quik Shop and be treated better than having to spend $50 to get treated like I don't matter. I'll just skip to the point. Ordered "Car-side to go" and confirmed that they would indeed serve you at your vehicle. I showed up to pick up this $50 order and sat. Then I sat some more. I sat for 20 minutes in my vehicle and finally decided I should figure out their phone number and give them a jingle. I called and spoke to "Elon" who claims he couldn't hear or understand me. When I asked what his definition of "Car-side to go" was he said "Well we CAN bring it out to you if you want, but whatever you want to do." Pathetic... We lose connection and I call back. "Wes" from the bar answers the phone like I've never heard a phone answered before, almost like he was beating back rabid attack dogs while he answered. With a strong yell in my ear and sarcasm that could last until the end of time he claims they are just trying to find out how long it will be until my food is ready and then in the same breath magically says "oh it's ready now." The magical "Elon" brings out the food and forgets $15 worth of the food I ordered. He goes back in and retrieves it. So I hand him my card for payment and he has to go all the way back inside to run it and do God only knows what else with it. (side note, in the KC Metro area all the "Car-side to go's" carry a portable card scanner with them so they can take your payment and give you a receipt at your car window.) He returns with a receipt and needless to say even though I'm sure he THINKS he deserved a tip for having to hoof it out 20 feet to a car... he didn't get one. Food? Eh, forget it. Not worth it. And it must have been ready for those entire 20 minutes I sat there because it sure as heck wasn't hot or didn't even attempt to be warm.

There's always a long line, so I thought there must be something special with this location. The hostess was young and thoughtless. Since I was very hungry, I sat at the bar and ordered my food with the bartender. He was friendly. The food was as expected of a chain restaurant.
