Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol
If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
Food was ok, but Bartender Ryan was great. Nice experience after a very bad one in Terrell, TX. 6 days ago.

Applebees has been bought out and is now super corporate. You are getting box food now. Huge let down and my favs on the menu are gone. If you want this type of food, just take your money up the road to McDonalds.

Like most of the reviews I have to agree with the long delays in recieving our food orders. While it was a Friday night there were several apologies being dished out to other tables around us as well. Our server John was fantastic and kept us well informed on the status of our order. The delay just to receive our appetizer was so long that we were comped which was much appreciated. As insignificant as it is, my biggest complaint was their phone. Pretty sure their phone rang incessantly during our entire meal. It was so loud that at one point I contemplated getting up to answer it myself and possibly leave it off the hook. Bottom line when going out for a nice meal it would be nice to be able to sit back and enjoy the company your with instead of the distraction of restaurant chaos.

Sadly, Applebee's has fallen to the lowest rung of sit down chain restaurants. Their food is always overcooked pre-fabbed garbage. The wait times to get your food and drinks seem like forever. I used to go to Applebee's every Monday night during football season to catch the games and enjoy cheap appetizers. Those days are long since gone, because the food has gone to junk. Went to eat at this one about a month ago and the woman sitting behind me was complaining that they didn't have any martini glasses. Martini glasses...seriously? You're supposed to be a "bar" and grill, and even though she was making an ass of herself, if you have a bar, you should probably have martini glasses. In this area, you're better served going to Cheddar's: much better food, better prices, and better service.

We've all been to Applebee's, right? So you know what it's like. This one was like the others. Our waiter was okay, although he never checked back on us until we'd finished eating (it was not busy). We both ordered steaks cooked medium rare, one was right, mine was medium well if I'm being generous. I'd asked if the steak had a lot of seasoning and was told no and it was crusted with spicy seasoning...it didn't even taste like meat. Mashed potatoes were ice cold. Drinks were good and appetizers were too.

No diet coke! No unfrozen strawberry mix for frozen drink, kitchen incredibly slow

Service from kitchen has been incredibly slow the last 3 times we have been here. The servers have to be taking a beating. Unfortunate.

Applebee's is what it is. This one at least has great service. Who would have thought the menu items under 550 calories are actually very tasty.

Chain food should be consistent. If this is true then I will always stay away from the steak. I ordered it medium and it was well done and tough. Potatoes were not seasoned and the stuffed mushroom was bland and super tiny. So, why the three stars, you ask? The waiter was absolutely great and easy on the eyes; as were the other servers that worked there. But the kid's menu is what kicked it into the category! Yay for getting it right! All new menu items and yummy healthy choices. No more Mac n cheese of the blue box variety (yes, Blue Moose, still talking to you). This was actual macaroni with cheese sauce and grilled chicken on top. She also had vanilla yogurt topped with fresh strawberries! Simple, healthy, delicious and a complete meal in the same (underlined) price (underlined). Thanks Applebee's for finally getting a kid's menu right.

Service was horrible! Poor management! I won't be back to this location. We ordered the queso, and it was not what we're expecting. The queso was bland and cold and the chips were stale!

The food was terrible, the shrimp and linguine came out as a soup, the sauce was so runny, I chewed on a piece of shrimp which was hard, part of the shell was still on it. The French onion soup had a layer of grease on the top; I sent the pasta/ soup combo back and got a burger which was just ok, and the fries were way too salty. Usually when you send something back to the kitchen they take something off the meal; this place did not. I am very disappointed!

The food and service was amazing!!! My friend dropped us off their and the waiter saw that he wanted some food because he looked sad and hungry. So he kindly got him some chicken tenders and French fires for free!!! I mean I never been to a restaurant that was so kind. My Friends and I enjoyed the food the shrimp was amazing!!! We also tipped the waiter 8 dollars for the free meal :) I give my experience a 5 stars. I think the restaurant is finally stepping up their game.

This is actually a pretty nice Applebee's, smaller than some I've been to. The bar section is cozy & friendly. We only come here for late-night half-price apps when everything else shuts down (at the absurd hour of ten here in the 'burbs) so I don't know about the lunch or dinner service... but the late-night crew is cheerful and service is quick. The food is solidly three stars, but they get an extra star for Ryan, the bartender, who is cool & funny & the kind of guy to put extra whipped cream on my Irish coffee just because.

When I lived in the area used to enjoy eating here. How things have changed. lack luster service and mediocre food. Went w/ a friend on a slow early evening. Ordered the garlic steak. It was covered in some seasoning definitely not garlic. Would have said something to the waiter but he disappeared. Overall disappointing experience.

Went here with my parents for lunch. It was quite bad. Ordered a French Onion soup that obviously used canned beef broth for the soup. I couldn't eat half of it it was so bad. The salad was okay though. My mom ordered a club sandwich which was pretty good at least (I ate part of it). The atmosphere is quite noisy and crowded, designed to push people out quickly. Prices are high for what you get. I'm glad I haven't missed out of much never eating at an Applebee's.

This like other Applebees has a nice friendly environment. I enjoy coming here on a late night. I think this is one of the few places you can go late at night and still have a good meal. The bartenders make good drinks and the appetizers are great. It's good for large groups and fun for the kids. They have TVs all around so you can catch a game or two from pretty much any seat.

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak.
