I LOVE the Roasterie Cafe, but I prefer the Brookside location over this one. Every time I've gone it's very crowded and it's much smaller. However if you're out south and have a coffee craving, this is the place to stop in!

Perfect place for friends hang out , study, and the store is clean and neat. Best is, it has CLOVER.... And you MUST try their CLOVER coffee in BLACK first, then add cream, then add sugar last (1 coffee, 3 ways to drinks, is an art) Advise: ask for using ceramic mug if you dine in. 1. Saves the earth 2. and keep your drinks taste better. Why? Because paper cup actually has a coat of chemical on it to prevent leaking, and it will add an acid flavor to your drinks. If you are a true coffee / tea drinker , you should always avoid paper cup. You know, that is an insult to coffee beans and tea leaf. They will cry....

Great job getting our to-go order just right. Four different drinks, lots of compliments back at the client's office. Glad I found you after Latte Land closed.

Wow a Hario Pour-over in Kansas??!! I couldn't believe my eyes, but after a colleague recommended this place, I was shocked at the San Francisco quality baristas and beans, impeccable service and superior coffee selections. There are no jumbo, vanilla hazlenut frappucinos here, just the best coffee I have found while in the Kansas City area. I highly recommend trying the siphon w/ whatever single origin bean the knowledgable barista recommends - you won't be disappointed. Minus one point for not using quality, organic milk to go along with their coffee

This place is perfect if you want a nice place to work. The strip of outlets lining the seating area caught my eye. There were plenty of people with electronic devices either working or entertaining themselves. It would be a great place if you were looking to arrange a meeting with someone. The service was prompt. The barista made a delicious suggestion. I plan on returning the next time I want a coffee or a smoothie on my lunch hour.

We were all drinking our hot drinks while my sister kept waiting for her hot chocolate to be made. Finally we figured out that it had been nabbed by another girl (with the same name) that ordered hot chocolate after my sister. The two 90 lb hipsters dudes behind the counter were completly perplexed by the situation. We got it all worked out and they went back to chatting about new piercings and the best way to keep their facial hair styled. Interior is sleek, yet warm. The pastry selection is really nice, we ordered a chai tea iced cookie, which was perfect. The Chai Tea latte could have used a little more chai, but it was a warm welcome on a very cold night. Due to its proximity to a couple shopping areas, the crowd is quite diverse. This is a good addition to an ever changing strip mall.

With the nice weather this morning I decided that I wanted to go enjoy a local fav. I had never been to this location, so I thought I would check out. Walking in, the place looked pretty typical; nice and clean, but I was interested in sitting outside. Unfortunately, there was not much selection outside; maybe three wobbly tables right on the side walk. I walked in and was asked my order. I ordered a basic croissant and cream cheese. They were out of the reg croissants, which I found rather odd being barely nine in the morning on a Saturday and they'd only been open since seven. Since that option was out I went for the Chocolate croissant and a 16oz mocha coffee. I asked the server if she could warm my croissant, but instead was told there was a microwave I could use; seriously? Seems a little tacky to have a microwave for customers to use in a coffee house as well as lazy on the part of the server. I will say that the coffee and croissant were pretty good, but too over priced. If I'm going to pay almost $10 for coffee and pastry I expect the service to go with it! Next time I'm in the mood for overpriced coffee, I'll go across the street to Dean and Deluca.

Nice atmosphere. Music is good and people are friendly. They could use a little more branding in their shop. Smell of coffee that embraces you as you walk in says it all...

I am a tea and chocolate lover and both needs are served very well here.

So good. Quality beverages every time. I wish it wasn't so expensive! The espresso is very strong, plus they use shatto chocolate milk for their mochas! Really good desserts too.

Crossing over the imaginary line! Kind of... I recently visited the newer Roasterie Café in Leawood to have the same type of experience as the one in Brookside. Same friendly low key baristas working behind the counter and some of them I have recognized from the other shop. I guess continuity and change of scenery is nice for the employee. The overall experience is about the same, get your beverage of choice, some leave immediately others there to meet friends to catch up on the latest gossip, others meeting associates to discuss business, then some of them there to bust open the laptop to take advantage of the free wifi for studies, work, or to catch up on Facebook. I also saw some with no devices but the paper, the trusted media of the 20th century. The Roasterie is overall your typical coffee shop, some old, some young, and some right in between but great coffee to put it above average the other shops. My preference because of where I live and I feel more at home is Brookside but it's nice to change it up every so often, and see a new friendly face! :)
