After a failed attempt to try and get a table at this Bravo! restaurant location on a Saturday evening, I decided to try again with my family on a Thursday evening. Much better this time; not as crowded. Yes, it is basically an upscale Macaroni Grill or Carrabba's, with a faux Tuscan decor. But, they do a nice job of making the whole place feel upscale, not just in their decorations. I will say that I think Bravo! is one of those few places that would appeal to a wide variety of occasions, whether it be the trendy, casual, romantic crowd or a more formal affair. We were promptly seated and our waitress was very attentive throughout our visit. I ordered a portobello with carmelized onions flatbread and gorganzola as an appetizer. It was delicious! Our 4-year old daughter even liked it. Of course, complimentary bread at your table is staple at these places, and Bravo! has their own rendition of this American Italian tradition. What sets theirs (and others) apart is their dipping sauce: an olive oil with minimal herbs and pieces of sundried tomatoes. Brilliant! For dinner, my wife chose an eggplant pasta dish, I chose the Pasta Mediterranean with some shrimp added to it, and our daughter got the children's fettuccini alfredo with chicken. We were all pleased with our choices. And as usual, I was the only one who could finish my main course. But of course, although the desserts looked nice, we were too full to partake. Although my wife and I had planned on trying a glass of wine with dinner, we both backed out and went with non-alcoholic options. Bravo! looks to have a nice bar near the entrance and it seems popular with the after-work crowd. We have not been to any Bravo! restaurant in a few years, but only because there are not readily close to where we live. I hope our next visit will not be so long in coming.

I wasn't expecting much from this place. It was after 10:00 and this is a standard Italian chain. In the end, I was pretty OK with how my experience turned out...maybe even pleasantly surprised. The interior was nicely lit, but filled with faux Tuscan crap at every turn. Still, the place had an appropriate if not inviting vibe which was also helped by the pleasant person at the host stand. Our server was a bit of a dumbass (dumped in ice cube in mom's salad, refilled a soda with ice water twice) but the food made up for it. The portions were huge and everything at the table seemed nicely prepared and seasoned. I loved the perfectly al dente penne noodles. Nothing was spectacular, but everything was decent. I've heard it said before that the job of a national chain restaurant is to not disappoint. At Bravo it doesn't really matter there are better Italian meals-- it matters that you likely won't have a bad one here.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Bravo had a good brunch menu. I was so surprised when I looked over the menu, I got the stuffed french toast and a brunch cocktail. It is one of the best unexpected brunches I have ever had. The staff was so friendly as well, very helpful and fun to talk to! Bravo has some decent food for their other meals as well, I was just blown away by the brunch! Check it out!

The rating is purely for their awsome deals. The food is also great but their prices deserve an extra star. I still hit up this joint for happy hours. Come on, $2.99 for appetizers? How can you resist? But the reason for an update is their Monday Night deals on sliders. IT'S DIRT CHEAP. CHEAPER THAN THE NASTY BURGER YOU EAT AT MCDONALS. Sorry, I just really wanted to stress that point. It also comes with these awsome fries and I think it's $2 off all beer. You know where I'll be on Monday nights!

Recently went to this location for a birthday party. She had reservations and I showed up with another member of the party and the hostess told us we were the first people to arrive. As they took us to a table, I spotted 4 people from our party and we joined them. About 15 minutes after getting water and menus a waitress came by and brought us bread, my friend asked if she could order a beer and she took her order and walked away. I got her attention and ordered a cocktail as well. Our food took a while to come out, and neither of the waitresses brought tickets with them, so it was all mixed up. One member of our party ordered shrimp instead of chicken pesto and they brought her chicken. We never got offered more drinks, or dessert. They asked us if we needed boxes and when one asked my friend if she was on her own, the waitress said "I'm always the 5th wheel, too!". My check had to be amended 3 times before she got it right and 2 members of our party weren't even charged.

The food and the service were quite good. I met my friend here for an early dinner on a Saturday. We were able to get right in but it looked like a wait shortly after we arrived. I ordered the Chianti-braised beef ravioli. They were served in a brown butter pan sauce with small diced sweet potatoes throughout. The ravioli was cooked at the appropriate consistency and the stuffing of the chianti braised beef was very nice. It was shredded and flavorful. Even the diced sweet potatoes had a nice outer crunch and were soft on the inside. A pretty delicious meal, overall. The meal is served with a basket of freshly baked herb bread and an infused olive oil for dipping. It was tasty but not so much I couldn't resist. Next time I am out this way I'll try Bravo again.

If it weren't for a co-worker's birthday gathering, I would have never gone to Bravo. I expected food comparable to Macaroni Grill, but was so surprised at the quality of the meal I had here. I will definitely come back here the next time I am craving Italian food. I was ravenous (like always) when we arrived, and of course we had to wait for the entire party to arrive before we could order. I ordered a glass of red wine and enjoyed the fresh bread with dipping oil. I swear I could have eaten the whole basket. I ordered a caesar side salad to start and the bay scallop and shrimp with angel hair pasta dish for my entree. It was amazing! It was light on the palate yet filling and delicious. I loved the slices of lemon in it. So fresh and citrusy. I took half of it home and it was excellent right out of the fridge the next day. I don't like to reheat shrimp and scallops- and I'm impatient. I want to try their happy hour and their lunch options.

Fun! I recommend sitting up at the service bar next to the kitchen and talk to the line cooks. You get extra goodies that way!

I really don't like to do this, but...I have to downgrade my Bravo experience from a 4 in the past....to a 2 based on my recent lunch. I met a friend from out of town a few days ago for lunch. She asked me to choose and of all the places I had to pick from, I decided on Bravo because of past experience i knew we could get a drink, visit, and enjoy a sure thing. While waiting for my friend, they brought me a darn good bloody mary...but after we ordered our meal, we had to ask for the bread that everyone else seemed to already have. I ordered the grilled salmon salad. I've ordered this before and was always happy with it. But this salad had the smallest, dried out piece of salmon I've ever had at a restaurant. I was suprised by that and disappointed. My guest seemed fine with her meal, but only ate about 1/2 of her salad, so i suspect it wasn't up to par either. I just felt like something had changed in the restuarant, that the quality has declined somewhat as well as the service, or attention to detail. I may try again to see if it was a fluke, but I gotta say, in that area, there are so many other choices....I'd really have to think hard about risking it again. They really should know better and be on top of their game.

Came here with 6 of my girlfriends for my special day, and everything was FANTASTIC! We were able to sit in the private dining area, and our waiter went above and beyond what he needed to do. Everyones food was deeelish! M M M!

Consider the Toyota Camry. It's a fine car, sure. Gets decent mileage, offers acceptable acceleration, handles pretty well, and the interior is comfortable. All in all, it's a car one wouldn't mind driving. But then again, if you never drove one, your life wouldn't be any poorer for it. Simply put, it's the very definition of design by least common denominator: everything has been constructed with the single goal of offending the fewest number of people as possible. And that brings us to Bravo. Tommy nailed it in his review: nothing here is spectacular, but everything is decent. I've been here on numerous occasions (for some reason, unbeknownst to me, this place has become my parents' go-to spot in Overland Park). And while I usually have a photographic memory for food, I can't for the life of me remember ANY dish I've ever eaten here. And I've had several. I think one of them had pasta....? A marinara sauce perhaps....? Maybe something with cheese...? It all blurs together, and my mind is left with only a vague, amorphous impression of italian-ish-ness. It's definitely a cut above Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill, sure. But overall, it's Italian food without guts. When you get right down to it, it's the Toyota Camry of Kansas City Italian restaurants. It surely won't offend, but it certainly won't dazzle, either. Oh, except for the greco-roman columns strewn about. Those, my friends, are quite dazzling indeed.

My son and I had lunch here on our recent visit to Overland Park. We were at the mall - starving - and it sounded good. We went right at lunch hour and it was busy, but not crazy and we got a seat right away. C got his standard crayons and place-mat, so he was happy. Then our waiter brought us a bread basket with some dipping oil, we were both now happy! I started with a side Caesar Classico, which for a side salad was a nice size. However, it could have used a few more of the "house-made" croutons - there were two! C and I then shared a Margherita pizza and it was really good. The tomatoes were super thin and there were lots of them, so it really had a great flavor. The pizza was a good size for the price, we ended up getting a doggie bag for a few slices (which made a nice snack back at our hotel!).

I went to Bravo for National Lasagna Day. The lasagna was half price. I've only been once before and was not overwhelmed. I was still underwhelmed. The lasagna was only okay and was still fairly expensive. The Ceasar salad was bland. The service was so impersonal that I felt I was being waited on by a statue. I would not fight strongly against going back, but I would resist.

Mypersonal opinion: The atmosphere of Bravo reminds me of a themed restaurant in Vegas. I really like this place. There aren't a lot of vegetarian options but they are there. I do find Bravo to be inconsistent. I usually order the cheese tortellini with no jalapeño (why they even put it in there is a mystery to me). Sometime is it so good I can't wait to get it again, other times I feel like I wasted my money. The service has the same issues with inconsistency. Though their drinks are wonderful and fruity they are overpriced for the lack of alcohol. I would love to come here for drinks but the tab would run up faster than my blood alcohol level so I usually go somewhere else when I just want drinks. Go to Bravo, say you have been there. Now if you feel a need to go back...that is a toss up.

I am a sucker for good pasta that anyone is willing to put extra red sauce on it. Well, here comes my love for Bravo. Their dishes are usually already drowning, but I need more. Oh bravo, Bravo for meeting my wants. Pretty much any bolognese dish is good, but my fav that keeps me coming back is Mama's Lasagna Bolognese. Warning: this is no tiny portion of lasagna. There will be leftover unless you're willing to hurt yourself. With this dish I come close from loss of control to stop. Just like a dealer I've gotten others hooked on this dish too. I went to this one more often because it close to my job. Easy pickup or lunch hour. I think I prefer the one on Zona Rosa more.

Nice fancy ish restaurant in the upscale Town center mall area. The place seemed like it was more fancy that it was with the food and such. Food was pretty typical as I got the Herb Crusted Salmon. The entree was kinda plain tasting and not much flavor to it which was kind of a disappointment.

Bravo is an okay italian restaurant. Maybe I am just not a fan of this particular style of Italian cooking, but I prefer Brio and most recently Mimi's Cafe. I know Mimi's is not an Italian joint, but they have a Mediterranean dish that is pretty awesome. Most of the time you do have to wait for a long time (even if you do make reservations) and people can be a little rude. The bread that is served at the table is a-ok and the olive oil mixture that accompanies the bread is not very good. Frankly, I like Zio's olive oil mix a lot better. I can never seem to find a dish that I really enjoy that makes me want to go back. We usually go because some close friends love this place. Once seated, the ambience is good and service is generally above average. Bottom line though - better quality food for cheaper price at other places that I go to.

I made reservations for this place a week in advance and when I got there, I ended up waiting an hour before I got seated. What's the point of making a reservation if they aren't going to honor it? Aside from that, the service was on par, barely, and the food was pretty decent. I think this restaurant is pretty typical of those in the Leawood and ritzy KC area - employees that think they're the shit, that are disrespectful to customers, yuppie decorating, and okay food.

Solid 4.0 on Bravo. Nice atmosphere, good friendly servers and good food. Fast service. Italian fusion. I had the lunch special Turkey Florentine. Great tasting sandwich.

This is for lack of better word, a Poor Man's Brio. Same company owns it and there are very similar appetisers offered. Consequently, all of our appetisers were delicious We had the bruschetta, artichoke & Spinach Formaggio, and the fried calamari. Everything was delicious. For the entree I personally had the Pasta Pomodoro with Chicken. The chicken itself was in in general, juicy. I also liked the touch the cheese provided as well. Jennifer mentioned in her review the Chicken with lemon butter caper sauce. It is my wife's go to dish when she cannot make up her mind. (which is often, but I never said that!!!) Great place if you want to grab lunch. For dinner though, I suggest you go to the Big Mama and try Brio.

I have had 4-star experiences with Bravo! in the past, but last night's 1-star service made me think about an in-between for my Yelp review. I went with three other guests including my husband, and we decided to stick it out when we were told it would be a 40-50 minute wait on a Monday night. Everyone liked their food, and I've never really had an issue with the food in the past. I think it's pretty darn good. No, I've NOT been to Italy or have an Italian grandmother, but my taste buds enjoy it, so who cares? I got scallops and gnocchi with a side ensalata mista (salad with bacon and Gorgonzola cheese. SCORE!). Husband got Chicken Parmesan. Got calamari for appetizer, but it took a little while to order. It was like we were the forgotten table. My salad came out after the calamari was finished, and then about 60 seconds later, the meal came out. This is a bit of a pet peeve of mine not to allow sufficient time between courses. I had to make room in front of me to fit two plates, and look like a cow. Not something a girl wants to do. They never replaced our bread, and my companions specifically ate it early, so it would be replaced for sure. Nope. On two separate occasions, they put up a tray on a stand behind our table to pile up dishes, but didn't immediately remove it. Had my sister's fiance scooted out and stood, he would have knocked it over. Twice. A positive note though: when I finished my salad, I had someplace to remove the plate to. My husband ordered a second glass of wine with time to spare, but then had to basically shoot it in order to finish it before dinner was over because the waiter returned with it so late into the meal. After awhile, I think our waiter just wrote off our table as the table that no amount of good service could then fix, and then didn't even try. I was fine with the food, but the service was so poor that I couldn't overlook that. Based on food alone, I would have given a 4. Previous experiences have certainly been better, and they change up the menu which is something I appreciate in a restaurant.

Went there last Thursday evening. Heard on the Today show it was the best. I never got past happy hour. The black rasberry cosmo was so sweet it was sickening, the regular cosmo almost as bad. I had a headache from the first one but because I went with friends, didn't want to ruin a good time, so went ahead and got the second drink. We did order a couple of appetizers that were okay, nothing to go back for. Because of the headache I went home early. I don't recall ever getting a headache in the middle of having a drink, but this one caused it. The bartender was so large he couldn't reach over the bar. Not pretty.

My wife and I met my parents there for dinner last night. It was just a few days before Christmas so the place was packed. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and found it a very enjoyable meal. They did the green beans just about right. Their chefs know the correct manner in which to do al dente vegetables, not mushy, not crisp raw but tender with a little tooth. The bread was good as always. Problem is the place always seems to be behind on baking the stuff. The service was the most disappointing. The place got slammed shortly after we were there and the waiter was clearly overwhelmed, we couldn't get refills, bread was slow, dessert was late, check was slow. The decor is a little too fussy and pretentious for my tastes with faux columns all over the place. That's how it is done in Leawood I guess. It is dark and loud in the evening. This was taxing because my parents are hard of hearing anway. It's o.k., not great. But I'll take Garozzo's downtown anytime.

I know this is a chain, but never had it before. It was near the hotel thy I'm staying at so decided to give it a try after walking around the town center and building up my appetite. I had the grilled salmon salad and thought it was delicious. Also it was cooked well and not too dry. I hate that. They give you bread and oil as well and it tastes like foccacia so it's pretty hearty. Salad was a good size for an entree. I'd recommend, but if you're coming, you'll probably want to make a reservation since they get pretty busy around 7pm.

  • Larry H.

Disappointing. The service was lacadaisical, though it was a slow day (in fact they were cutting staff at noon). The dish they bill as their signature pasta was bland. We'd just returned from Block Island - needless to say Bravo's lobster bisque was not even close.

I received poor service when I dined by myself. The sauce was thin an bland! My wife and I have gotten sick from their food, on other occasions, this used to be one of my favorites. Sorry to give a negative review but it's one restaurant I won't be back to again.

When I am out in this part of town (going to Crate & Barrel) I usually like to do a quick lunch here. They offer sandwiches during the lunch hour, but flatbread and a salad is also a favorite pick. If I come to dinner, I usually dream up my own pasta dish and they are happy to make it happen in the kitchen. Don't want all the carb's? Try the Chicken with lemon butter caper sauce or Salmon salad.

my first meal at Bravo i was impressed- the place is gorgeous tucked on the Park Place side of Town Center Plaza- plenty of parking. i had no issues with the hostesses i was seated immediately. my server Hannah was very friendly and attentive- water refilled checked on but allowed to eat and read. the bread with dipping oil was SO good i'll go back just for it. i ordered Lasanga- i always order lasanga its been my favorite since before i could say lasanga. 'sanga Gramma. i've never had 2 sauce lasanga -alfredo and marinara - but it worked really well with the pasta and meat and cheese. good flavors very fresh and very HOT. the dessert was the layer cake with berry sauce.. AMAZING. whats the best is i have leftovers same meal for tomorrow night since the lasanga portion was so huge i halved it and had room for dessert- price wise it was comparable to the other local favorites in KC but the one upped them by being delicious instead of merely passable. this is up on the list of favorite lasangas and i will be back for it!.

We had dinner at BRAVO! on Friday night with another couple and it was a great experience. I'll start off with a tiny complaint though...the host stand. When we walked in, there were 5 gals at the host stand (working, hosting) and nobody actually looked up and said hello. They all seemed concerned, worried, distracted about/by whatever table had just been seated. I totally understand that hosting can be a difficult job (especially on a Friday night) but somebody needs to just look up and smile and say hello. Otherwise all was great, service was timely and the food was really good. We all had salads (chopped salad was yummy!) and entrees were pastas and some specials. Everyone enjoyed. Will definitely go back and will hope for a flicker of greeting at the host stand next time.

My husband and I love this place! The food is consistently delicious. Appetizers, entrees, drinks, desserts, we've had and enjoyed them all! The service is always great and we like the atmosphere. We like to sit at the bar stools where you can watch the food being prepared and plated. They have a Bravo card you can sign up for, they automatically load rewards onto it, its a great way to have a nice meal with a little bit of savings.

I really wish we could give half stars. I will start with the bread sticks. I don't know if they are homemade, if they are, they are nothing better than what you can get out of a freezer section at your local grocery store. The dipping oil that comes with them is good, the herbs are a nice touch and I think there is a touch of sun dried tomatoes in it. I would suggest that they get away from the awful bread sticks and go with a Italian bread. I order a tequila pomegranate drink and it was pretty good. I am not sure it is something I would drink often, but I don't have any complaints on it. For my meal I got Mama's Lasagna Bolognese. This was fantastic. The blend of sauces was delicious, the meat was tasty with just the right spice in it. My only complaints it that it needs served in a smaller container so it comes together and you can enjoy each component in every bite and also, some of the edges of my noodles were crispy. Not crispy from being baked, but crispy from sticking out of the top of the boiling water. Minor issue, but discipline issues with the chefs that if not addressed will continue to make the quality go downhill. The service was fantastic! My waitress was the perfect combination of friendly and not overdoing it. See checked when appropriate and was observant to know what I needed or to ask if I needed something. Excellent service! The look of the restaurant is very nice. It has an upper scale look and would be a good date restaurant, place for business meetings, or for families (without younger children, sorry I just don't think younger children are needed in these types of restaurants unless very well behaved.) Something that really threw me though and I thought was extremely tacky were the plates. When my lasagna was served on a plate with Bravo! wrote across the top, the place went from upper scale classy to below trashy. Seriously, a restaurant of this scale does not need their name printed on the plates. I can over look the paper table clothes, but this was just tacky. If I could score 3.5 I would because of the bread sticks and tacky plates, but being I can't I will bump the score up because of the delicious lasagne and more so, because of the fantastic service!

Me and my fiance went here for dinner on Saturday. Walked in, stood at the hosts stand waiting to be acknowledged for around 10 minutes. After asking yo speak with the manager the woman replied that she was the manager and that we would talk with her. She refused to apologize for not paying attention to us and then said she would put us in line. After another 10 minutes we were seated. Our waiter was very friendly and took out drink order. He got us waters and didn't come back for around 12minutes finally with our drinks. Extremely slow experience. The food was pretty good. I had the lasagna bolognasr and she had the scallop pasta. The Butterscotch bread pudding was extremely good. It also took a long time to pay which was annoying. If the speed was faster and we had better service this would've been better.

What more could you ask for at an Italian Restaurant, than excellent bread with truly amazing dipping oil? Of course, a review needs more than that, so let's see what I can do... Decided on a whim to go here with friends one very cold Tuesday (during, ok after, the recent snow storm). It was just before the dinner rush started, so we were seated quickly. Service was excellent...although I do have to wonder why there were so many hostesses (seriously 6 of them!??!), but I guess they were preparing for the dinner rush. The food...hm...excellent bread and dipping oil, I honestly could live on that stuff. As far as the rest of the food...I ordered the Portobello & Boursin Bruschetta and while completely unexpected was completely excellent. I also ordered the scallop and gnocchi special, which was...mmm....mediocre at best. While the gnocchi and accouterments were good, the scallops themselves weren't very good. They were cooked perfectly...but just weren't up to my standards. Very spoiled by living in Los Angeles for 25 years and the excellent seafood that was always available. Overall, good food and good service. Another place in the KC area that had very good Italian food.

Met some girlfriends for lunch at 11:30 and the place was already hopping. We all started with the Italian wedding soup. It was served so hot (temperature) that my friends all put ice cubes in their soup! I didn't want to dilute it, and unfortunately I am still suffering from a burned roof of my mouth. Not often do you have to complain that the food is too hot! I ordered a salad off of the $7.95 lunch special menu. It was huge, and exceptionally good. Our only disappointment was that our bread was stale. They usually have the best bread and dipping sauce. We didn't mention this to the waiter, as we all were happy to stay away from the bread for once! A welcoming and bright atmosphere - perfect place for a lunch date.

We got in toward the tail end of the dinner rush, and it was fairly quiet for the evening. The food was good and with decent portion sized. I wish the waitstaff paid a lil more attention to us when instead of having to keep arching to find a server whenever we needed something.

Oh Bravo . . . what can I say . . . you have AMAZING free bread and dipping sauce (kicks Brio's butt) . . . you have AMAZING service . . . your food . . . I'd give it an ok. I love going to Bravo with my family or a big group of people. They have huge tables and everything is consistent and good enough. It's a chain so the food is so so, but the service, location and free bread basket are hard to beat. Give it a shot if you have a big crowd that is hard to please. :-)

I've been here twice. It's a favorite of a couple of my gal pals. It's a bit of a drive for me but I've always enjoyed my meals here. I had mojitos which were delicious! Veal parmesan was quite generous and I ended up taking enough home for a light lunch. Cooked well but not dry and leathery. Very good. It's in a popular part of Leawood but parking has not been a problem nor has convenience. The staff are always polite and professional.

Sucks...I hate chains...especially when their staff doesn't try to improve the experience. McDonald's fries next time.. I give them one star because of the hello, cashier could run a credit card and I didn't get sick.. No second try...oh maybe if I'm drunk..

I have dined at both the Leawood and Zona Rosa locations! My first time was for lunch at the Leawood location, we sat on the patio when it was a bit warmer out, they had heaters making it very comfortable. I also sat outside at the Zona Rosa location this summer and was able to enjoy a band that was playing near by! I love the atmosphere at these restaurants, very inviting and the food is amazing!! They start you off with their complimentary Italian Rosemary bread, which is amazing by the way, and serve it with oil and spices!! I ordered my fav Chicken Parm both times!!! It's so good, the chicken is some of the best that I have had and they serve it with just the right amount of sauce and noodles (which the call herb linguini - it's so delish!). It is however a huge plate!! I can't wait to go back, and maybe this time I will branch out and try another dish, I have been eyeing the Pasta Bravo (Grilled chicken, mushrooms, red pepper cream sauce over rigatoni noodles) or maybe the Lobster Ravioli..RIGHT!!! That sounds so good :)

The food was great the drinks were also great. The portions were small but loved the food minus the green beans tasted fresh but under seaaoned. Portions loss them a star and the fact that the waiter picked up my bread with his bare hand loss them another star and lost my waiter his tip.

From the atmosphere to the service, Bravo definitely puts Olive Garden to shame. The detailed high ceilings and the white linens give off the feeling of luxury. I was there for a birthday dinner with a table of 5 and our server, Diane, did a fine job. Everything was timed perfectly: the waters, the salads, the entrees, the clearing of the dishes, and the checks. The hostesses were my favorite employees. They were very polite and personable. I thoroughly enjoyed their bread sticks and dipping oil; couldn't get enough of them. Where Bravo fell short for me was in the main entree. I ordered the beef ravioli (which came with really tiny pieces of sweet potato and sage). The richness of the beef and the sweetness of the potato wasn't a perfect pairing, in my opinion. I did not like the flavor combination, but finished my plate nonetheless. For $14.79 (16.07 with tax) I expected that ravioli to be phenomenal, instead it just left a weird taste in my mouth. The other people at my table seemed to enjoy their meals, though. Bravo was an overall fine experience (I enjoyed the atmosphere, the employees, and my friend's company) but didn't impress quite enough for me to want to return again soon.

Italian wedding soup was very good and served piping hit. I had the chopped salad and my wife had gluten free option that was very good as well. We sat at the bar and enjoyed conversation with the bartender. Martini was outstanding. Good meal, good price.

This place has pretty good italian food. Their bread, pastas, salads..pretty much everything tastes well. This place is big and pretty good environment. Staff is great at this location. We usually go on our lunch hours. Great place to eat out with colleagues.

A fine place. We shared dinner and they divided it for us. This restaurant is good for groups. The service is good, the food is basic Italian and the atmosphere is fine. A bit loud in the restaurant.

Service was not good at all. Dishes piled up on our table. And the food was not that great. Over all experience was not great. I would not recommend this restaurant

As soon as you walk in you'll want to stay. This place is impressive! It had that tantalizing mix of background noise, music mingling in here and there yet wasn't too loud to hold a private conversation at the table. Ambiance is 5 stars! The waitstaff is very attentive and the menu offered a nice variety for an Italian place. I started with the calamari which was perfect (not at all rubbery) and served with two sauces, a marinara and a creamy spicy white sauce. I had the flat bread pizza and it was very thin and crispy. I LOVE that! Sundried tomatoes, fresh chopped basil and mozzarella, enough to share as an appetizer or satisfy for dinner with a side of salad or a bowl of soup. I can never resist a lobster bisque so I opted to add a bowl to complement the flat bread pizza. The soup was very rich. Now I expect lobster bisque to be rich but this was 99% heavy cream rich! The flavor was flat and there was pretty much no discernible lobster in there at all. The first few tastes left me wondering if perhaps the server had brought the tomato bisque instead, but then a tiny little piece of lobster made an appearance. The fact that I couldn't even tell if it was tomato or lobster should lean you in the direction of it just being overwhelmingly creamy but flavorless. Boo. Do try the peach sangria, it's divine!

We reserved the private room for my grandparent's 65th anniversary. When we arrived, there was a bottle of champagne for them, compliments of the manager. He really went above and beyond to make sure the dinner was wonderful! The food was great and we'll definitely go back. Thank you!

Came here for a late lunch with a friend last week. Atmosphere at first seemed a little too much like the Cheesecake Factory, which isn't all bad. I liked the white Roman columns for architectural interest. Since we arrived between lunch and dinner there were not a lot of people there. We received just the right amount of attention from our server. I had the eggplant parmigiana which was very good. The sauce was perfect. I thought it might be time for their dishes to get upgraded as the Bravo logo was wearing off. The best part of the meal was that as we wanted to extend our time there, we were able to move to the bar and get in on Early Bird/Happy Hour deals for additional glasses of wine. Erin, one of the bartenders, was truly wonderful. She was engaging and swapped out my glass of red wine when I suspected it had been open a tad too long and she opened a new bottle for me. When a new bartender came on, he was a sweetheart that looked like Rick Astley, I'm sorry I didn't get his name. He was terrific too. Management is definitely doing something right here and I would return anytime I'm in the area as I felt very welcomed. Next time, I'll see if the GM is there and make sure to compliment them personally.

Fabulous! Had a great lunch with my wife and 1 year old. Great food, drinks and staff. What struck me as exceptional is the feeling of "fancy-ness." You feel like you're getting a 5-star experience at a 3-star price. Lunch portions were perfect. Our waitress was fabulous and knowledgeable. Cannot recommend enough.

The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was pleasant, I savored every bite of the grilled mahi mahi, and the prices were reasonable.

We were greeted by two petite young ladies in black- who kept their backs turned toward us for an unusually long period of time after we entered. This was awkward and inhospitable and did not meet the requirements of hostessing, in the smallest measure. This poor start was rectified by our warm and accomplished server, a blond approaching middle years who was courteous and efficient. I had the gazpacho which was a perfect summer soup- my folks had chopped salad which they pronounced quite tasty. My Eggplant Parmesan delighted me by its lack of oiliness. Chef, you have my kudo's! The atmosphere is a bit noisy for my taste but it is a beautiful restaurant reminiscent of Italy.

Food was just ok. In my opinion, macaroni grill is much better. We started with soups that were ok, but bland. I had grilled mahi, but it was overcooked and difficult to eat. I will say that the vegetables it was served on were perfectly cooked. Overall, the dish lacked flavor and I was not impressed...I had to add salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese to make it have any flavor (I never add salt to food...I think it has been over a year since I added salt to a dish....it was that bland). Friend got signature Bravo pasta. He liked the sauce, but said chicken was overcooked. This was our first time here, but I was not impressed, so we will probably not go back. I can say decor is nice and server was great, but food was 5/10.

While we don't frequent the other Bravo restaurants and concepts, when we are in South KC we inevitably stop by Bravo for their chicken parm and other offerings. This is the perfect date location with wonderful ambience, white linens on every table, and a menu that seems to offer something for everyone. The bread is good, not great, but if you love chicken parm it simply does not get any better. The dish goes by a different name on the menu but don't be turned off - it is the best I have ever had. I wish I could say that I branch out and have tried many different menu items but when you experience perfection there is no reason to try anything else.

Great, fun and fast service. The chicken Marsala could have used a bit more flavor though. Always live their meatballs.

It's been a year since we last visited Bravo! I was first taken aback by the waiter who not only had a bandage across his nose, but also a smug attitude. After not being told of the daily special, I was then surprised by the significant cost increases on the menu. However, this did NOT mean higher quality. Food was lukewarm, and pasta was old. Also, food arrived about 5 minutes after ordering which makes you wonder if it's really cooked-to-order. Mixed drink was sparse with alcohol at a high price tag.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
