I was in need of approx. 300 boneless buffalo wings last weekend. I ordered from another establishment with undesirable customer service. My daughter and I decided to call Henry T's the night before her sorority event. Tiffany was incredible and made it work for me! So, I cancelled my order at the other place. When I arrived to pick up the order it was piping hot and ready to go. The best part of this review....everybody at the party couldn't get enough of the buffalo wings and kept asking me where in the world I bought them in Lawrence, KS!! Their wings are just like the ones mom makes in her black iron skillet! I look forward to buying these again for my KU tailgate this coming Fall. Thank you Henry T's, you're the best!!

I wish I could give this place 5 stars because the variety of food on the menu and the quality of the food is great but their service is SO HORRIBLE! Eaten here multiple times when the place isn't busy, with plenty of wait staff around and still can't seem to get good service. My suggestion is to call in and get your food to go!!

Monday is two for one burger night. Their burgers are very good, I love the mushroom and swiss. Their side salads are also very good. Love Henry T's. Service is always above average.

OK, I have to write a review for this place now that I've been twice. The first time was so bad that we decided we wouldn't judge them by one event and would let them have a second chance since maybe the first time was just an anomaly. The first time the host was so flustered with the amount of people coming to see them that he was working as if overwhelmed. He had to seat people and more because the wait staff didn't take over as soon as the person was seated. We waited several minutes to be seated even though there were plenty of open seats and only us and two other couples being seated. Our sodas weren't refilled in a timely manner and our food took about 40 minutes. We were eventually told that they were recooking my pizza and went ahead and brought Jeremy's food. I did think the pizza was good. The other night they were just as busy but still had some open tables. This time there was no host and a waitress eventually came over to seat us. The pub chips are as good as any pub chips and you get 2 free refills. The pizza wasn't as good as I remember. Jeremy's waffle fries were stale. It costs $2 extra to turn your burger into a patty melt which Jeremy did but it soaked through the bread so fast that everything was soggy. The sweet potato fries were so bland. They need to allow you the choice of either adding salt or cinnamon sugar or something. This would be a great place to watch a game because the service is so slow you could get most of the game in. As non-drinkers we judge places by the food and service and this is a place we don't need to go back to.

This location is SO much better than the one in Topeka! The service can get kind of shotty, especially when the place gets extremely busy.. But I think that's probably more of a staffing issue than the servers being "bad". I have yet to try something on the menu that I do not like - I really enjoy the black and blue salad, though I do ask for the dressing on the side because sometimes it can be a little much. Their wings are also really good, traditional and boneless. I would highly suggest trying their parmesan garlic traditional wings and the barbeque boneless wings - Those are my favorite!! Oh, and I love going here to watch games too!

A great place to hang out and watch the game with the locals. The food is solid and you can even find some very cool gastro-pub style options like street tacos. Great daily specials so be sure to check those out. I'd recommend one of their salads with shriracha honey chicken or the street tacos.

This is what you would expect from a bar and grill. The turkey burger was great though. Not something that you find at a lot of restaurants and usually over cooked, but not this one. The service was average. I would definitely come here again.

1/2 price burger basket night is a WINNER!!! LARGE burgers with BIG pattys and a heaping serving of fries. Any of their options on their specialty burger menu are up for grabs on Monday nights. Plus $2.50 gusto domestic draw (that's the BIG beer). It's a bar with amazing specials. Was a tradition EVERY Monday night that I lived in Lawrence.

I used to frequent this place often. I do not have a whole lot to say but I do have good things to say. The service is usually spot on and the food has always tasted good. I have never had an issue with this place and can tell it is ran like a well oiled machine. I recommend this place for a good burger or wings.

The last couple of times dining at Henry Ts I have experienced both mediocre food and service. Last week I had the sample appetizer platter and everything came out cold. Wednesday nights they are always understaffed, even though they have plenty of tables. They say that they can't seat you "because the servers will be mad and overwhelmed". Twice now we have left without being seated and headed to Six Mile where we got great service, had to pay double, but that was fine by us because the food was better too!

I know there are newer places to go to watch games but because Henry T's was my fav back in the day it's where I continue to go. The menu has been revamped. The food is still decent pub grub. They have homemade potato chips with 2 refills which are delicious. You can't have just one basket! The service today was pretty good for a busy game day. It was a good improvement over previous visits. My one compliant - do something about the windows on the north side. It's FREEZING over there.

This is a good place to catch a game and better than average bar food. If you are looking for a nice dinner, this is not the place to go. Good atmosphere for watching sports. They do have the BEST pub chips....

Food was average, the service was below average (and we were there at 5:00 so it isn't like it was super busy), and the ambience was dark and dated. Sometimes these local places have their own special charm. I'm not ready to go there with Henry T's.

I was in Lawrence for a conference and was looking for someplace to watch some sporting events. The desk clerk at my hotel recommended Henry T's and said it was a "neighborhood sports bar". I took his advice and went to Henry T's and had a seat at the bar. Jeff was the bartender and service was great. I ordered the chicken wings per Jeff's recommendation and they were pretty good. Not earth shattering amazing but good. They have a lot of black pepper on them which is unusual. Prices were reasonable and they have enough televisions to take care of just about everyone's game of choice.

They have 1/2 price burgers on Monday. I'm trying to eat healthier right now, and I already had a burger just a day or two before, so I opted for a salad. The larger version is priced just under $10. Fortunately, there was plenty of chicken on it, because otherwise it was just average mixed greens, some red onion, lots of little croutons, and a few tomatoes. I ordered it grilled buffalo style and received it sans buffalo sauce. The waitress took it back and it was quickly returned, so I guess no big deal. I left some salad in the bowl, but I'm not sure if that was because it was so big or I just got bored with the few ingredients. I've had better salads for the price, but I wouldn't say I felt ripped off. I'll come back again when I'm in the mood for a burger. PS: We arrived just before the lunch crowd. We came in around 11:45 and it was empty. By the time we ordered it was pretty full.

I adore this place! Have since I was a student at KU, but that was years ago and I have lived many other places and have yet to have a burger that compares to the KC Masterpiece one here and those waffle fries...YUMMMY. The staff changes and they have new booths instead of the tables I remember, but that burger is still the VERY BEST burger!! I crave that thing and strongly recommend this place to anyone who likes a good juicy midwestern burger! I can't get enough HENRY Ts!!!!!

This restaurant is popular, and I've gone there for years. But they have bought into a new ripoff trend that is despicable and infuriates me. If you order anything for takeout, they'll add a 50 cents upcharge for boxing or bagging it. This is ridiculous. You get less service for takeout than for table service for in-restaurant dining. I have encountered this scam only once before: at One80 in Kansas City. Whenever they do this, they tell you every other restaurant in town (whether in Lawrence or KC) is doing the same thing. But if you ask at the others, they deny it. Both times this happened to me, I refused the takeout and told them to trash it. Unless you want to encourage this kind of nickle and dime ripoff of customers, stay away from places that do this, or it will spread. To make matters worse, the person who claimed he was manager at Henry T's (Allan) said they had already run through my credit card, even though I had not signed the charge or added a tip, so he gave me back some cash. If this nutty idea spreads here, I guess I'll just have to stop getting takeout food at restaurants. I am not about to pay an upcharge, no matter how small, for the privilege of not using the restaurant's table space, seating, dishes, silverware, service, and facilities, while lowering the restaurant's overhead. Nope, not me. Not ever. Next thing you know, they'll be adding in an upcharge for not using their bathroom or parking lot. BEWARE.

I went to Henry T's tonight with my boyfriend and unfortunately I'm not able to review any of their food--we didn't get that far. We arrived at 8:45 on a Monday night (hoping to enjoy their 2 for 1 burger special) and we rarely get a chance to go out to dinner together because of our busy schedules so we were looking forward to dinner out. We seated ourselves at a booth and the restaurant wasn't overly crowded. We then sat for about 10 minutes with servers walking right past us while we waited with no menus, no drinks, nothing...several of the servers even made eye contact with us and then continued ignoring us while serving everyone around us and making sure the table behind us got their tequila shots in a timely manner. Eventually a girl dropped a couple menus on our table and said our server would be with us in a moment. We then spent the next 15 minutes being completely ignored again. No one ever came and took our drink order, but they continued to talk to each other at the bar and serve everyone around us. Finally after nearly half an hour being treated like we were invisible, we slowly put on our coats (hoping maybe someone would see us getting ready to leave without being helped...but no luck) and walked out. When my boyfriend dropped our menus off to the girl who gave them to us she just looked at him blankly. I'd STRONGLY reconsider going here unless you don't mind absolutely terrible customer service.

My workplace has to deal with two yelpers. Pity those people. However we spend more time comparing notes on great places to eat, rather than squabbling with each other. That's how I learned about Henry T's in Lawrence. Rumor had it that on Tuesday Night they serve a huge bucket of delicious chicken strips and fries for $12.95, enough to feed three people. Since Lawrence is the same distance from my house as going into the Metcalf corridor, I had to go. One little tip, the specials start at 6pm.. we got there at 5. So that gave me a whole hour to suck down several of the beer specials that was offered. The bucket arrived, and I am talking a galvanized scrub bucket, not a mini beer cooler bucket, and it was jam-packed with chicken, Waffle fries on the bottom. Both were outstanding and screaming hot!. I ate until I was ill, and still took a box of left overs home. Chicken was real tender breast meat with homestyle deep fried coating. The waitress also offered to have them coated with Buffalo sauce, bbq sauce smothered or homestyle with your choice of dipping sauces. According to the sign board there is a special every night, Burgers, chicken sandwiches, pork tenderloins, tacos, each night a different cost reduction special. I am already planning a trip back on a Monday to try their tenderloins! Our total bill was less than $22 for more chicken than two big eaters could muster and 4 rounds of beers. I thought that was excellent. I saw several buckets being served to the other tables, so the locals must already know about these specials. Some folks were ordering milk shakes and malts in an old fashioned ice cream parlor glass that looked wonderful.. Kind of a surprise for a bar. I would have liked to try one, but didn't think it would mix well with the beer I had already sucked down. Another reason to return. Stay tuned for another episode of this place from Uncle Brian....

It was alright. Surprising for bar food the level of flavor. I had a rather overpriced set of fajitas. They tasted pretty good, three different spices that came through quite well. The price was hefty however, and left me wanting more in terms of size.

This place is okay, but I like it less every time I go. As a bar, it's okay. The food isn't really that good at all though. Their wings are meh. Once I got a shrimp po boy and the shrimp was tiny and obviously frozen/microwaved. There wasn't much sauce on it and it didn't taste good and wasn't filling. Only reason to go here is after you've eaten and you just want to drink and watch the game.

My personal opinion: 1) I personally feel this is the worst service in town. As a former server I feel I always tip well 20-30%. I actually felt the service was so rude, late and bad I didn't leave a tip...THE WAITRES FOLLOWED ME OUT AND CONFRONTED ME!! I told her the service was horrible and that I wasn't sorry. 2) When my veggie burger was brought out it looked like someone took a bite out of the patty. I sent it back and they acted annoyed.

I really do enjoy going to Henry T's. It isn't my favorite restaurant in town, but it performs well enough each time I go in to prompt a subsequent return and the occasional craving (mostly for the waffle fries!) Some of my favorite things include: The turkey sandwich with avocado, the waffle fries, and the raspberry limeaid... Except wait... they discontinued the raspberry limeaid! I discovered this travesty last night when my hubby and I grabbed a bite to eat. They now do some sort of raspberry pink lemonade thing that, while tasty, doesn't hold a freakin' candle to the awesome bubbly sweet-tartness of the raspberry limeaid they used to make. FAIL!! Are you reading this, Henry T's? Bring it back! At the very least, allow people who want one to order it off-menu or something. What's the use of being a repeat customer if I can't pull some sort of rank on those who aren't in the know? Henry T's is a fun place to go watch a KU game with some friends and some beers (haha, I almost typed "bears" instead of beers. Sadly, there are no bears at Henry T's unless there is some sort of alternative lifestyle night that I'm unaware of at this time.) I've heard they have some tasty wings but as someone who has terrible OCD with messy foods, I haven't tried them yet. Overall, I gauge whether or not a restaurant is awesome by my immediate reaction upon hearing my husband suggest a place for dinner. If I get that "Yeah! Let's do it! Yum!" reaction, then it must be A-ok in my book. Henry T's usually elicits that reaction. Did I mention the waitresses are always sweet, friendly, and cute? Tip them well!

Henry T's is most likely my favorite bar & grill in Lawrence. If you're into sports, they've got you covered with several TVs to watch the game. Seating is decent - a little on the small side - but still good enough for most needs. Plus, there's free WiFi and a nice deck outside. Try the steak burger, KC Masterpiece style. Leave off the cheese. It's wonderful. The waffle fries are excellent as well. Finally, the setting is a little dark. If you want a place with more light inside, I'd find somewhere else to go.

Here's the deal. First time I went in, I ordered the fish tacos. Service was good, food was hot, everything tasted great. 2nd time I went in, the experience was definitely on the lower end. Service was slow, and it wasn't even that busy. I ordered the same fish tacos. It took about 30-35 minutes for the food to arrive. It was luke warm, as if it had been waiting to be delivered for the last 15 minutes. The black beans they served with my tacos on the side had that sludge you find at the bottom of a bean can. The least they could do is drain the beans before they put them on my plate. I love salsa, but the salsa they make tastes pretty bad. It's runny and fairly sour. There's some sort of weird combination in the salsa that gives it a slight fermented sour taste. They really need to look into a better recipe. I've had friends who've told me the service was absolutely terrible at this place. I can't say that our service was bad, but it wasn't good either. I was disappointed in the food. I'm putting this restaurant on suspension.....

I was staying nearby, and asked the hotel manager for a dinner recommendation. He casually mentioned a couple other venues, then stated his favorite was Henry T's. On the strength of that recommendation, I gave it a try. Henry T's is definately a locals sports bar. I observed several patrons moving from table to table, bartenders giving a "Cheers" type welcome to regulars coming in the door. As a non-regular, I felt the cold shoulder initially, but the bartender and regulars at the bar started talking to me, I felt the awkwardness drop off. I had an appetizer and a couple beers. The food was competantly done, the beer selection was OK, lots of TVs, staff warmed up after initially ignoring me, and the prices are great. I enjoyed myself and would definately return if I ever find myself near Lawrence again.

I STILL get cravings for Henry T's veggie burger. Their jalapeno mayo MAKES that burger. Good place to watch KU games too. They have a good number of TVs placed in a way that you always have a good seat. And enough tables for large groups when you want to watch the game somewhere that has an endless supply of beer so no one has to make a beer run. Service has always been friendly, fairly fast and good. But man, that veggie burger.... mmmn.

Previous reviews are misleading. This place is more about good burgers and bar food than veggie burgers. Good specials ( check localfoodanddrinkspecial… ). Wings and burgers are best. Also tacos on Sundays! Half nachos is a good choice as well.

I went to Henry T's in my quest to find the best veggie burger in the area and to watch some college basketball. I wasn't dissapointed on either count, but wasn't terribly impressed either. The Black Bean burger was pretty tasty- I had it made Blackened Cajun Style. I think that was the best part about the burger, the peppers and spices associated with the way it was made. You can select from about 8 different preparations for your burger and can choose meat options, or the Black Bean or Vegetable Patty. It was a solid burger on a nice bun, and the Waffle Fries that accompanied it were really tasty and not too salty. The Nachos were also really good, nice and spicy. The service was friendly and they had some great specials on beer. The atmosphere was probably the part which makes me go with a 3 star rating, there were plenty of TVs, but if you let your eyes wander from the game there wasn't much else to look at. Also, the food seemed to be a little bit high in price, if things had been a dollar or two cheaper per entree I probably would have gone with 4 stars. The outdoor area looked nice, and you could watch the game outside, which is pretty cool. Overall I wish I could give Henry T's 3.5 stars as it was a decent place that I will probably go back to, 4 star food, 3 star atmosphere and prices.

I want to like this place, but the food just isn't as good as the place in Topeka. Been here twice: once was awful, once was decent. Might try it again sometime.

Good burgers, great place to watch a game.
