My boys seemed to like the food. I had a salad. They charged me the wrong price. When I showed the waitress the discrepancy she was rude. She begrudgingly took one dollar off the bill. This was still not the correct amount to be charged. The waitress just walked off. I won't be back.

I've been here a few times over spring and summer. Every time has been a good trip. My favorite is the manhandler sandwich with the hot link sausage option. There is definite kick in the hot link, and it's well worth the spice. Their snakebite burger is ok, but the jalapeño popper on the burger didn't have much spice at all. Jalapeños are finicky like that; either they set fire to your tongue, or have no taste, there's never a middle ground. Another reviewer mentioned the slathering of sauce on meat, and smoke-lite flavor. This is a legitimate gripe, but one cannot argue that it's not from a lack of trying. The joint is rolling in smoke (I personally find the atmosphere awesome), but I've never thought, "wow that's a smokey pulled pork." However, the sides do hold their own, and many excellent BBQ joints fail miserably in this category. TK's does not. I would suggest their cheesy hash browns and their sweet corn bake. Both are amazing. In all, it's a great local barbecue place, and the owner is a very friendly guy. Strike up a conversation and try something that comes with two sides. You won't be disappointed.

Pretty damm good ribs! Had the all you can eat ribs and fries special for $20 and they said I could stay all day....I ate 1.5 servings and left stuffed. I asked that my second plate be served dryer since first set just had too much goop. Friendly service and I would have tried the $4.00 bloody Mary special if I was't driving cause the ones I saw made looked generous. Coke Products. I will come back!

It's ok. I had the Memphis: a pulled pork sandwich topped with coleslaw, the way it's supposed to be topped. I ordered the beer batter fries and they were by far the best part of my meal. The pulled pork was a little boring and I thought the coleslaw came out of a bucket, way too much mayo and way too little flavor.

I saw the smoker outside and got excited that Hays actually got a good BBQ place. This place needs a little work. There was no smoke flavor in the meat. The meat comes in BBQ sauce, I would prefer a variety of sauces on the table and let the customer choose their sauce. I had the beans as well, they had peppers in them which I don't like, and all I could taste was chili powder. But, my husband said the cole slaw was great. Nice try TK's, just need to make a few tweeks .

Ever since we tried TK's for the first time my husband and I crave it. It is the kind of Kansas BBQ that makes your mouth water. It stacks up to the great BBQ you will find in Kansas City. You can't go wrong with the baby back ribs. The smoke ring on these is incredible and they melt in your mouth. They also have a bacon cheeseburger that can be topped with brisket or pork. You won't ever want another burger again. The cheesy hash browns are fluffy and flavorful. They serve drinks in mason jars that adds to the unique atmosphere. The sauce is sweet, which happens to be the way I like it. So far I tried the cobbler and it was excellent. Always prompt & friendly service.

The smell of this place is the first thing that lets you know that the food is gonna be excellent. We walked in at 12 for lunch on a Thursday and sat right down. Our sever came right over and took our order. Very friendly and prompt. I ordered the Memphis sandwich and it was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I've ever had. I ask had the corn casserole and it was also excellent. I will absolutely come back on my next visit to Hays.

So... For tonight, I find myself traveling through the great expanse of Western Kansas, and ambled into this establishment based, in large part, to Yelp. Overall, I like the place...simple decor that says, 'leave the formal stuff at home...no gloves or tiaras, this is a BBQ place!!'. The menu, while simple, offered a wide enough variety and combinations to insure that there was something on the menu to hit just the spot. For tonight, I had the pulled pork platter with fries and cole slaw. Presentation was nice, with it being in a square metal tray lined with paper, an example of which you can see on one of the pics. (Tip- NEVER expect anything good if served on china and silverware is handy!). The fries were in a mini metal like water trough and the slaw was in a metal cup, with the pork on the paper.. Portions were generous (I struggled and could not finish) ...the fries were hot and firm.. not soggy nor burnt, and the cole slaw was creamy with just the right amount of sweetness....the pork was also good...pulled but not mushy...plentiful with some nice sized chunks in it, too, just to make it a challenge. My ONLY concern (and NOT a complaint) was the sauce. Sauce is one of those things that can make or break a BBQ meal...fortunately, this did not. While I understand that not everyone pays attention to it or has a soft stomach, I DO believe that every BBQ restaurant should offer both a 'regular' and a 'spicy' or 'hot' sauce option...the only option I had was an offer from Kaley (in center of staff pic, VERY nice server...and do NOT be cheap- tip well!!!) was for some spicier wing sauce. Even though her heart was in the right place, it is NOT an option....I did talk with her and her peers about it, hopefully, the Gods will listen at the next staff meeting (Sunday, 3:00 for any of you reading this...NO excuses). In addition to the need for a spicier as an option, the only other things I would change is the addition of either some soft white bread OR (BETTER!!!) some warm corn bread to soak it all up...because a plate that has not been cleaned up is a darn shame! All in all, I give TK's about a 3.75 star rating because: A.) You GOTTA have a spicy sauce option and B.) Nobody is perfect! I promise to stop by on my next pass through town and keep you posted!!

Excellent BBQ restaurant! I would highly recommend it to others. For the cost the portions were generous. definitely needed a to go box. My only complaint is the coleslaw could have been a little sweeter. There were some things they were obviously still trying to work out, but the service was excellent for a new restaurant.

This is the second time I've ate here. The first time I thought maybe they just had a bad day. Today, my sister and I ordered the platter with ribs, brisket, sausage, chicken, beans and the coleslaw. The ribs were so over cooked and burnt on the outside that I had a hard time even removing any edible meat from them. The brisket and the chicken was dry and drenched with a nasty sauce. The sausage was a little burnt but edible. Beans were okay and coleslaw was okay. If I could give a 1/2 point rating I would. Once again, Hays has another rotten BBQ joint that will surely join the ranks of the previous dumps and ultimately close down. Before you open a BBQ restaurant, you might want to spend a year or two working a real BBQ restaurant in the KC area.

Food and service was awesome. I will be coming back and would recommend this place to everyone.

Where to start...I'm a bit of a BBQ aficionado. Many years in KC and I haven't eaten ribs that come close to mine yet. That said, the wait staff was courteous, speedy. friendly. The portions were generous. I had the baby back ribs, the smoked wings, cole slaw and beans. The good first, the beans were great, peppers, some brisket, good flavor and spice. The cole slaw, not so much. I didn't like the flavor, and it was swimming in some sort of creamy dressing. Creamy is ok, but the amount was overwhelming. The ribs and the wings had ZERO smoke flavor, none at all. That combined with the ribs not having the membrane removed from the back of them leads me to believe the cook, pit master, owner doesn't know BBQ. Thats BBQ 101. The ribs had no flavor with the exception of the sauce. No rub, no smoke, no love. Anyone who rates this place more than 2 stars either doesn't know BBQ, or has never had good Que. BBQ deserves to be better than this, even in Hays KS.

Good BBQ loaded with sauce. Enjoyed the side dishes and peach cobbler. The meal portions are filling. GPS will take you down narrow streets from US 183.

The amount of food was huge, however the meat was covered in a so-so sauce that I could have used less of. It was if they were trying to cover up for dry meat. I asked for a a spicy BBQ and they gave me Tabasco. I sat at the bar, and between the bartender the owner and the drunk cook siting a few seats down I had a hard time eating without being interrupted.
