Bad food, I ordered the thristys burger $7.49 burned black and the size of a $1 McDonald's , old store conversion with loud echo atmosphere, staff was great but not recommended.

This place is in an old big box store, so its huge, its filed with goofy crap, that does not look cheep, makes me think the food is over priced. We waited at the door for way to long before some seated us like 15 min, and the joint was empty, The servers were on there cell phones with there heads in the clouds. We got the chips and salsa, for around $4 that was about a hand full of chips that were stale and did not even cover the plate, with a bowl of Pace salsa that was oddly warm, we ask if that was all the chips and the server said sadly yes,. If your in to goofy crap on the walls and bad food then go here

After a long day of driving I was looking for a place to have a cold beer and a steak where I could watch NCAA Hoops. Luckily I found Thirsty's... I found a spot at the bar and asked them to put the game I wanted to see on one of the 2 large bug screens behind the bar. Although KU was playing (I was wanting to watch Wichita State) and the bartender quickly changed one of the TV's for me. The beer I ordered in tap was ice cold and they had a large selection to choose from. I ordered a ribeye steak with a baked potato and mixed vegetables. The steak was well seasoned and what I would consider an above average bar steak. The potato and vegetables were also good and I always like to see Texas toast with my meal. The food was served quickly and my beer never got empty before I was offered another. A great place to watch sports and have a good meal. Plenty of seating, clean with a good sports decor. They even have TV's in the bathroom so you don't miss any of your favorite game. I would recommend this place to my friends and definitely be returning on a future trip to Hays.

Poor excuse for a restaurant. Service was terrible, three salads took forever. Glasses were not kept filled. Food was gross ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp. Shrimp was bad, it smelled out of date. When I sent my food back the waitress returned with my plate saying it was just the seasoning. My friend had a Caesar salad with chicken that tasted like it came out of a microwave. My other friend had the taco salad with beef which she couldn't even eat. No steps were taken to ensure our satisfaction even after we sent food back. I told the waitress she better tell the chef to throw out the shrimp or someone's going to get sick. She looked at me as if she didn't care. Clearly the worst place in hays to eat.

Very slow!! We went in and there were only two other tables with people at them. The waiter was polite, but slow. Food took almost an hour to be served. I don't like writing bad reviews, but this was not great. Food was pretty good. I had a taco salad. Atmosphere is pretty neat, a lot of stuff to look at.

We had our family reunion Friday night dinner in 2013.There were roughly 50 ppl and we were given one server. I pity the poor chic for having to handle the whole spread. In that event, as a manager, I would have been a visible support for my staff. Or at least keep the booze going. No such luck. Needles to say, this year, we are taking our business and drinking elsewhere. Their loss. Again, our server was sweet. Just ridiculously overwhelmed.

I was very disappointed in our visit la weekend. In the past I have had wonderful food and pretty decent service but that was not the case this time. We came in one hour before closing both of us ordered a steak and seafood special. We ordered baked potato as one of our sides. We did not get our potato either one of us, and the server acted like he had no idea what I was talking about when I ordered a glass of wine off the menu. He started to tell me they didn't have a bartender until I pointed out it was wine and showed him on the menu. Both of our side dishes were cold, as was my husband's shrimp. All in all we'd have had a better experience going to McDonald's and stopping for a bottle of wine on the way home.

This was my first trip to Hays and not exactly sure what I was expecting but I was hoping at least friendly service. I didn't get it here. I sat at the bar and while the bartender was attentive, it was apparent she was having a bad day. The corn cheese dip was edible, though a little cold. They brought out my appetizer (the dip) the same time they brought out my salad and sandwich. That's a pet peeve of mine. The salad had too many rinds and not enough dressing. The BLT was pretty bland. As far as the atmosphere, this is more of a family / blue hair favorite than a true bar. I won't be going back on future visits.

I've eaten here several times. The service could be better (more times then not, I've had, while not poor, not good service), but the food makes up for it. Typical bar and grill food (think a local riff on Applebees or TGIFriday's) but well made and tasty. I love the decor here. Fix up the service and they'll have a real winner here

I read the reviews before I went to Thirsty's in Hays,KS. They weren't good but my daughter had eaten there and really liked it. We were well pleased. I think maybe those who liked it have failed to share their good experience and those that did not have a goos experience were way to willing to complain. We thought it was great. Please give it a try .waiter was good . Food good a win win for us.

Our last trip was marked by very poor service - we waited for nearly two hours with kids after placing our order and there was no food and no communication from our server about the delay. We saw our server only a couple of times during that sitting. We'd been before several times - the food is ok - nothing special. Many of the seating areas are very dark. Definitely better places in Hays to sit and wait for food than here.
