Stopped in around 6 on a Wednesday. First time I had ever been there. Sat at the bar. Jessica waited on me. She was excellent! She introduced herself (why doesn't every bar staff do this?) and generally treated me like a regular. I ordered a club sandwich and sweet potato fries. Jessica suggested some dipping sauce for the fries. The food came out quickly and was very good. Well done, Austin's!

Pretty neat bar good happy hour prices and offers. Cool experience! They have TV 's everywhere nice place customer service is great. I sat at the bar to have a a beer to kill time but I ended up being there for 3 beers and 3 testers of beers my bartender named Brandie with an "I" okay I forget if there an e in her name or not but she was great that's what customer service is all about! I ended up tipping her $20! Customer service there is amazing people just should get on technology to use yelp to help this business out. Their staff A++++ I'll deff come back because of the service

Horrible. We were on our way home to KC. Stopped by to have a late dinner. Food was absolutely unacceptable. Burger fell apart and was completely unable to maintain it's "patty." The grilled chicken bun was so soggy it was disgusting. To top things off, there was such a crowd of "kids" screaming, at the top of their lungs, every vulgarity you could think of. I finally asked them to move, and, quite a crowd of them started "ganging up" on me. We finally left, realizing we were in some redneck town, and, this is how they run their business. The waitress said she called her manager. But, there were still two or three guys hanging around egging on a fight. Really? I left high school decades ago. Won't be back. If you're into more "family friendly," I'd avoid this place. At least on a Friday night. Edit: our waitress was pleasant. But, there seemed to be no one controlling this obnoxiously loud atmosphere.

Since they have upgraded their menu the prices are up and service is down. The food is mediocre. It's always been mediocre. The service usually makes up for that. The servers seem to be confused about where they are. My visit today was to have beer and watch the Royals and something lite to eat. The Royals were stinking it up and so was the server. I am guessing to when you order a burger it doesnt automatically come with sides. You can easily be confused because because sides mean cottage cheese fries etc. It you want toppings you have to go to the toppings bar and get them yourself. Gimme the pickles and tomatoes and KETCHUP. So if you visit, remember toppings you get yourself and sides are fries. If you ask your server he/she might not have the mental capacity to explain it. One good theng is the kitchen somehow is spot on. Perfectly cooked burger. The kitchen 90% of the time is on it. If you just wanna drink sit at the bar. Service is better and the drinks are cold. Food choice still sucks but I guess you can't have everything. Also, this place has been at least 6 years. They should know how to do things.

Had take out and my burger was on the smallest buns. I was charged 3$ xtra for a substitute side salad I got instead of fries. And they gave me ranch for my ceased side salad. The hamburger was pink in the middle when I asked for well.

I love Austin's Bar and Grill! This is such a fun little joint that is conveniently located off Moonlight and 56 Highway. They have really delicious french fries and bar drinks. I always get the grilled chicken sandwich with honey mustard and ranch. It is enough for two meals. My only complaint is that the service is spotty at times. But, not enough to keep me from coming back!

Great addition to the neighborhood--clean, great service, good food, extensive draft beer selection. Lots of TV screens if you want to watch the game. Disagree with picky posters--prices are fair for a higher end place (this isn't Hardee's, after all). We intend to become regulars!

We've been there a few times, food is good. The steaks are seasoned right and the fries are good. I have had problems twice with the steak not being cooked right. The first time I ordered medium and it came out well done. They did comp the meal, and offered to give me another one. It happened another time but it wasn't too over cooked, so I just ate it. The chicken sandwich is good also. The service is sometimes not so great, its hit or miss. Another complaint is you have to get your own condiments at the "condiment bar", not something you I agree with when you are expected to tip. Overall quality food and drinks at decent prices. I will go back.

I used to frequent Austins in Olathe in early 2000s. They had great burgers and good prices. Over the years and after expanding to Gardener, the food quality has fallen off. And prices have skyrocketed. Burger of Burgers used to be my fav in town. Now it's an average burger and comes in over $10. Their lunch specials are dine in only. So if you work and want to pick something up, you can't take advantage of the only way their food is a value. Wait staff is ok. Depends who you get, but it's not consistently bad or good. Steak sandwich is good, but the cooks can't seem to cook the meat to the wellness you ask for to save their lives. I usually ask for medium, and it comes well done.

Good for lunch and possibly for beers after work. Friendly staff. Food is OK. Not too much imagination goes into the menu. Price is a bit on the high side for the area.

I would have given a 5 star but the cost is a little pricey. Amazing burgers and fries are the best!!! This place has the best ranch dressing. Only thing I would recommend is not having bar for condiments because a lot get wasted and servers bring them to you as needed so maybe food prices go down. Would eat here much more if the burger and fries were not 10 dollars alone. But every food item ordered was amazing!!

Fried pickles were a delight! Service was excellent! Burgers, French dip the 9's! Fries were delicious! Chocolate martini to end the game was all its cracked out to be! Patio was a good change. Pleasently surprised! Will be going back!

12 of my family members went there around 12:30 on a Friday afternoon. Big group but they were polite and got us a table within 5 minutes. Service was super fast! My husband and I shared fried pickles and they were probably the best I've ever had! Would recommend!

Worst svc EVER!!! After we placed our drink order(2 drinks) we waited 10 min's. There were 10 other people in the bar and our waitress had one other table and it was 10:30 on a Friday nite. My husband had to go to the bar to get our drinks. They were ready and the bartender volunteered to remake them. The waitress never even apologized for it, she just pretended it didn't happen. Then when we got our ticket back after she ran the card she billed us $57.00 instead of the $36.00 she was supposed to. I called the manager over and showed her, I also told her about the drinks. She said "that's what the bartender told me." She took the bill and fixed it back to the $36.00. She didn't apologize for any of the issues either. Just told us it would take a couple days for the $57.00 to come back. So not only did no one apologize!!! We also had to pay full price!!!!!! No tip!!!!!

Tonight my wife and I went to get a late dinner. We sat down and were seated for about 15 minutes until a woman came over and asked if we wanted something to drink and that our server would be right over. We ordered drinks and our food because who knows how long our waitress would've taken. Our waitress finally came to our table after we had had our food for about 10 minutes and then walked away. My wife ordered a Long Island ice tea, which should be loaded with alcohol, but it turned out to not even taste like one and looked more like murky water. I also had a free drink token for this restaurant and they accepted it after looking at it for about 10 minutes and brought over a bud light. No bud light I have ever had tasted as terrible as this one. I could clearly tell that it was at least watered down but it was way to carbonated for just beer. It looked almost clear and had a strong carbonation like it had been mixed with soda water. Thank God I am moving back to Minnesota so I don't have to go here again.

Food is just ok, buns are terrible. They changed their buns a year or so ago and they are not as good. The curbside service isnt good either...they dont post anybody to watch for you, so you gotta go inside to the bar and pay anyway. Prices are too high also

So long as they continue to buy their beef from Scavuzzo's, I will be a lifelong customer. Best hamburger within 25 miles. Great value for the price. Occasionally they have the sports volume up too loud. I'm told the salmon is good also. The managers and servers have been uniformly excellent.

Not impressed. The first time I went there I got a burger and I asked for ketchup and the waitress told me I had to get it at the condiments stand. If I wanted to get up and get my own ketchup I would have gone to McDonald's, I want my food to come to my table ready to eat.. not have to get up to put what I want on my burger. I've been there twice and haven't been impressed by anything either time. Won't be going back.
(2)Shawn M.
average run of the mill bar food. Truly more like a sports bar. Also, don't go there if you want to talk, the TV or music is so loud you can barely talk to each other. Food is very average, nothing to get excited over.

Blah....I know there is not much to choose from in Gardner KS but Olathe is not too far at all. I went here because someone else in my party chose this location. Wait staff is horrible, not friendly and slow. They are definitely not servers they are order takers. Food quality is poor and priced high for what you get. I do not recommend this place at all.
(1)Scott B.
Why am I begging for service? Do I even have a server? It was pretty clear at Austins that the waitstaff didn't give a hoot about the customers or getting good tips. Mixed drinks = weak. Service = train wreck. If you like watching sports, there are a gadzillion TV's boasting every sport you could imagine. Also, there is an arcade room for all those alcoholic gamers out there. When in the KC area, if you want to go someplace with good drinks and table service, don't bother going to Austins.
(2)Kassie C.
Not bad. The waitresses are great, haven't had a bad one yet, but the food is just like Applebees. Except the potato soup... I could eat that all the time. But it's not too bad and a fun place to go; I always play it safe with the soup or the mushroom burger. Spinach artichoke dip has wayyy too much spinach in it.
(3)Jan S.
Very good burgers, baked beans are terrific, haven't tried alot of other things. Service is usually good and very friendly. A little noisy, but it's a sports bar so I would expect it to be. We eat there fairly often, and plan to eat there a lot in the future.
(4)Justin E.
Service is always pregnant with a smile. If one argued it's the best place in Gardner KS to eat I would not disagree. Mostly burgers and home cooking kind of entrees. It's a sports bar and grill so expect big loud TVs with meatheads throwing balls at each other. Not much more to say.

In order to review the quality of service of a restaurant you have to provide service to start with. Sat for 30mins walked out the place was dead no excuse for the delay.

Tried the steak sandwich and chicken tortilla soup here recently at lunch. The sandwich was good and the tortilla soup was great as a spicy chicken soup - the 'tortilla' part, I dunno about that one. My 3yo little one enjoyed her tiny pizza, my fries, and the fun conversation with our server, Denise. Will try other things on the menu next time to see what else is good.

I've never had a bad meal here. The menu is fairly basic. Burgers and a few other sandwiches, grilled chicken, steak, and a couple of fish options. We just recently had the pork tenderloin which was very good, and the grilled mahi which was surprisingly good. I was a little worried about the mahi for obvious reasons. When it was brought out I detected a hint of fishy odor, but luckily there was no fishiness to the taste. It seemed fresh and delicious.
