Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

We enjoyed the food, we ate toward the end of lunch rush, the service could have been more attentive. After traveling most of the day we were just glad to be somewhere. Staff was friendly and again the food was good we will return if we're in town.

This is probably the best Mexican restaurant in Emporia. It has been there for a while and has a pretty loyal following of customers. I usually venture to La Hacienda when I happen to be in town visiting family. The portions are huge and food is very reasonably priced. Plus, their happy hour specials are extremely inexpensive! If you plan to do a 'pick-up' order, please note that their website only has a fraction of their menu. I recommend heading in and just ordering right from the bar. They are super fast so the wait is minimal.

My wife lived in Emporia for a while, working for the local hospital, and tried to find good food around town. Her love for Mexican led her to try La Hacienda. Recently, we met some family coming up from Wichita and took the group to La Hacienda. We had a nice meal. We started with guacamole and a cheese dip. I really enjoyed the cheese dip. My wife, her parents, and her grandmother all got the Monterrey, half got chicken, the other half got pork. I was the odd one out, and got 2 cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. The enchiladas were very good. Everyone cleaned their plates. It was a good meal, and a bright spot of our visit to Emporia.

One of my favorite places to eat in Emporia! La Ha as it is called by many locals has been here quite awhile and is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Emporia. They have great service, a big menu of items, and great drink specials throughout the week. One of my favorites is their Chicken Quesadillas they are absolutely delicious!

My daughter and I used to eat here often when she was attending college at ESU. I was curious at first, because there is a La Hacienda in my home town of Burlington, and when I looked at the menu, it was identical. The food is just as good here too. I love the salsa, and anything with chicken - my favorite is the chicken chimichanga. My daughter loves the chicken quesadilla. Service is prompt and courteous. The only thing the wait staff might be guilty of is checking back too often to ask if everything is ok. Once or twice is plenty. Seating is a bit cramped, and if you want to have lunch here, it is best to arrive before 12. Parking is very limited.

Stopped here on our way through Emporia. The food was good & the service was fast. The prices were good, also! Our only complaint was how rundown the place looked on the inside! The decor seemed old & the place just needed updated! Other than that we enjoyed our meal & the friendliness of the staff!

The best nacho chips and salsa in town! You have to try the Fajitas Texanos. The Mexican style steaks are also quite good.

Was through town and hungry. Emporia has changed over the years, demographically speaking, and I can't remember what this place used to be. The tortas were good-though the bread could be a little fresher. The guac was great, and there was plenty of parking. Service was very good, and the refills kept coming, so much so I had to stop 5 times on the interstate. Lunch menu/dinner menu, the food is solid.

What a nice surprise my meal was. Just under $7 for a meal with drink. The salsa was nice with fresh chips in a clean atmosphere. The enchilada sauce was flavorful but not too spicy. Try it out !

We live in Texas and wanted some Mexican as we were heading home. The prices were excellent and the food was very good/fresh. I'm not sure why anyone would rate this poorly...other than the salsa was mild. But, they have a very tasty habanero salsa on the table as well if you want it hot. We had enchiladas, burritos, tacos, and queso. The queso was our least favorite but it was still good. I would recommend this place all day long. Really well done, La Hacienda. We were impressed.
