Great food for a great price! The food was prepared quickly, and we got free icecream with our meal!

From the first step into this place ,you are charmed! The old fashioned candy selection to the high soda fountain serving up classics ,like cherry limeade and chocolate soda, you will love the Snow Ball!!

Great ice cream and sandwich shop! Not only do the have some amazing sandwiches and a wide variety of ice creams to choose from, they also have a delicious range of coffee drinks! This is a great place for families, groups, and/or study sessions. Another fun experience offered at Snow Ball is choosing from their wide variety of candies and snacks!

Great little ice cream shop. This is a great mom & pop shop. They have good traditional ice cream cones, as well as other snacks and coffee. If you are in the mood for a cup of joe and ice cream in Atchison, then you must stop in at Snow Ball.

Great ice cream but the access (parking) makes it a real problem getting to the place.

Nary a weekend passes that we don't make a stop at Snowball. It took us only a day to find Snowball after moving to Atchison seven years ago. I'm sure we've made a couple hundred visits since. Blue Bell ice cream is the foundation of Snowball's creations. While they're a few flavors short of 31, they maintain all the popular flavors and a few sherbets. Keeping it simple they'll scoop your chosen flavor into a cup, a sugar cone or an old-fashioned waffle cone (my favorite). All scoops are gargantuan. If you're really screaming for ice cream, though, then you'll need to sample one of Snowball's signature sundaes. They're so big that it's a challenge just to see if you can eat it all before it melts. I was watching the construction of a banana split once, commented on the size of it, and was told, "That's a half." Chocolate lovers will clamor for the hot fudge over Dutch chocolate, with or without brownie. My favorite is the turtle sundae. In addition to all those great cones and sundaes, You can get shakes and malts, smoothies, specialty coffee drinks, cookies and assorted candies. And finally, they make sandwiches, too. The servers are great - friendly, efficient and patient while newcomers peruse the menu board and available flavors. When they ring up your order, you'll think they made a mistake it's so cheap. Soothe your conscience and tip big. The best part about Snowball is that it's a chain of one where customers' smiles, not corporate profits, drive it's business model. Enjoy!

Coffee was lukewarm and was heated up in microwave. Not the best coffee around but nice place.

This is our go-to place for a treat in Atchison. They serve Blue Bell ice cream, which is based in Texas and can't get north of Kansas and Missouri, I believe. Nevertheless, the ice cream is very yummy and there are at least 12 different flavors on hand. Their coffee drinks are great. Once or twice I got a drink that was a bit too bitter for my taste (there's a bit of inconsistency with how drinks are made among the different employees), but for the most part I've been happy with the drinks I get here. However, to completely avoid the change of getting a bitter drink get their frozen hot chocolate. It can be just as deliciousy creamy and decadent as a chocolate shake--again, depending on who is making it--but without as much fat and calories. But even a mediocre one is pretty good. Their sandwiches are okay. I have ordered a roast beef bistro and a grilled cheese--both weren't bad but didn't blow me away. Luckily, their prices are pretty fair, so you'll get something edible, maybe even something pretty good, and your wallet won't be hurting. Snow Ball's specialty, though, is its ice cream and drinks. They have very good hours, too, open from early in the morning until 9pm every day. There are TVs, but they are silent, and lots of students hang out or study. This is a nice neighborhood hangout or place to drop by if visiting Atchison.

I had a grilled cheese on pretzel and large house coffee since we were just getting a snack. I was tempted by the turkey and peanut butter sandwich and salmon salad, but opted otherwise. The ice cream and blended coffee looks great, but had to pass so I would have an appetite later on. Prices are fair, so if I visit again I will try more items. Definitely will visit if in Atchison again.
