Stopped here just passing through town on a weekend trip. I had the italian sausage sandwich and subbed onion rings for an additional fee. I think I received about 4 or 5 onion rings if I recall. Yes, they were quite big in size but for the extra I had to pay I expected more. The sausage was not that great...tough casing...kind of like trying to eat an undercooked bratwurst on a piece of french bread. My wife had a chicken sandwich and fries. She said it was fine. One interesting not...they don't have mashed potatoes on Sunday. Of all days to not offer mashed potatoes, I would think Sunday would be the wrong choice. I overheard someone from a nearby table attempt to order a hot beef but the aforementioned spud policy threw a wrench into her spokes.

My family and I have been eating here for years! They have a great selection of home cooked foods. The broasted catfish and romano chicken sandwich were outstanding.

Food is pretty ordinary but the service is good. The commercially made sausage gravy is like wall paper paste. If you are not going to make real gravy, at least get a decent canned gravy that can even be bought at Sam's Club. Time to also move into the modern era and have the total on the check when it is delivered to the table so the customer doesn't have to do a quick addition to determine the tip!

I have only been for breakfast, and it was OK. If you are out on the bike in the morning, I think this would be a good stop. If you are looking for someplace nice, I would go elsewhere.

Great breakfast location in Atchison. Classic old timey diner type place. The clientele is a nice mix of youngsters and the old timers. The weekday breakfast menu is quite good--typical Midwestern diner fare done well. I like their biscuits and gravy, which has plenty of good sausage in the gravy. On Sundays, they have a nice brunch buffet. It's a little pricey, so go hungry. That said, it's good food.

What a find for breakfast! I didn't realize, when I planned a the last minute to head to Atchison this morning, that there aren't many options in the town. So, I just about literally stumbled upon this diner. Not the greatest signage, so I wasn't even totally sure that it was open until I tried the door. Boy am I glad I tried it. Some of the best French Toast I've had at a diner in recent memory, and it came out quickly. Also, perfectly prepared scrambled eggs on the side. And, best of all, it was super cheap! All that for less than ten bucks. What a deal. Good, friendly service too.

My husband and I came here February of 2015 on a Wednesday evening. We ordered appetizers of dipping oil and the menu led us to believe warm flatbread came with it. Husband ordered catfish, I ordered lasagna. We had our dinner and had to remind the waitress about the appetizer we ordered 20 minutes earlier. She brought us the dipping oil and some cold sourdough bread. We asked about the warm flatbread and she told us it came at extra cost. He liked the catfish but wish he had known it was a small filet. The portion of lasagna was so small I actually left the restaurant hungry. I will not come back.

Was camping close to Atchison and saw this as a place for small-town cafe Saturday AM breakfast - one of the best things in life. Oh no... This was the worst small-town cafe breakfast that I've had in a long time. I kept expecting the big Sysco truck to come roaring up, delivering made-in-somewhere biscuits and gravy and sausage patties. Even the toast was not up to snuff. Tasted like the butter was that stuff that is pre-melted, if ever melted, and brushed onto the dry toasted bread so the bread does not have to be hot to melt the butter. Everything on the plate was on the edge of being cool (cold). In other words: Don't expect anything even close to homemade. 2 stars instead of 1 because the waitress was gorgeous, staff seemed to be homey and pleasant, food was out quickly (maybe a tie to the food not being warm), and the locals were interesting -- though I am not sure why the locals were there.

I love stopping in this place. I can always count on friendly and attentive staff. Food comes out quickly and hot. Price is on point. Their specials are usually very good, chicken pot pie was amazing! They have great food. The atmosphere is warm, casual, and inviting. I have never had their breakfast so I can't speak for that but lunch and dinner fare have not been a disappointment.
