The quintessential small town sports bar. Not a place where I would take the kids, but you do see some there (but who am I to judge). The prices are good, but if you are in a hurry, and it is busy, don't go. It has good bar food, great cheeseburgers, cold beer, everything you could want in the typical BAR experience. If you are out on a motorcycle ride, and in Atchison, this is the place to stop. You can sit on a nice, tree shaded deck along the river, and throw back a few cold ones with bikers from all over the area.

We went to Mueller's after being told that everyone in town goes here and that they're the best burgers in Atchison. Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed in many ways. We found little redeeming qualities in Mueller's. In terms of atmosphere and service, it's loud and crowded and we virtually got ignored the two times we came in. The first time we went, no one greeted us or told us what to do in terms of seating. Once we figured that we had to seat ourselves, it was a free-for-all. We left after a few minutes. The second time around, we decided to order carry-out. The only times I talked to any employee was when I ordered and when I paid, and that's it. In between those "conversations" were 35 minutes of being ignored. The food is nothing to write home about. We ordered a double bacon cheeseburger, reuben, fries, cheese bites (which we were hoping were cheese curds but my poor kids were the first ones to realize that they were *jalapeno* cheese bites before they started gulping down water and anything else to cool their burning tongues), and some chicken tenders. Everything tasted like they were previously frozen and/or were sitting around. They don't even pretend that they make any of the stuff fresh: for example, they just threw in a Thousand Island dressing packet for my reuben. I would have given Mueller's just 1 star, but considering it's just a bar and it doesn't pretend to be a good restaurant (despite what we had been told) saves it. But seriously, I've been to many other bars that either make their own food or at least dress up frozen stuff to make it look like they care. Go here to meet friends and drink beers... just make sure you eat somewhere else beforehand.

We love the double dip wings . Muller's is great down home bar/grill. We go there for dinner, which is great for family's . However at 9pm Muller's turns more into a great dive bar .

Mueller's is one of about three places in Atchison that can call itself a bar. The lack of competition makes it both good and bad (SOMEONE you know is always going to be there, but you also lack any sort of anonymity--unless you're from out of town, in which case you'll be stared at awkwardly or ignored--kinda like in Atchison and small towns in general). One of the best things about Mueller's is that it lacks any normal size high-ball glass. Instead, a vodka tonic will be served in a 32 oz soda glass. And the drinks are cheap! That's worth three stars in my book, once you get past the oddness of it. One of the worst things about Mueller's is the disgusting amount of smoke that saturates clothing and hair. It's seriously disturbing. I'm not anti-smoking, or even necessarily pro-smoking bans, but this is DISGUSTING. They need a better ventilation system, a window--SOMETHING. Some other notes: For some reason images of pre-war scenes in "The Deer Hunter" always come to mind when I think about Mueller's. If you go there around 6pm on a weekday, you might see why. Mueller's is great for those of us who grew up in Atchison and want to have a mini-class reunion. I'm not sure what I would think though if that were my college bar. They have the best grilled ham and cheese sandwich ever. I'm not even sure why I like it so much, but it's delish. The compound word of "lockeroom" annoys me. Please tell me that's yelp's error.

Food is good but beer selection is weak. Seating is terribly uncomfortable and noise is unbearable. Obviously only care about the young crowd. Getting no business from me anymore.
