The food is edible, but underwhelming. The service is comically foul, and the overall atmosphere induces a vague malaise.

The food is edible but not authentic Chinese from what I've been told. Regardless of the quality, the service is terrible. The only waitress/cashier is almost always rude. Most of the items on the menu are not available at the time, and this information is always conveyed brusquely in a "too-bad-eat-elsewhere" fashion. I have eaten there four times, and given the consistency of the service, will not eat there again.

Actually I like it a lot. The sateh beef and the beehun with spicy shrimps are awesome for me. I went at the Chinese New Year day. And they gave sticky rice cake for free. That's just taste like home! Can't love it more.

HORRIBLE. Overpriced, terrible food. We got 2 dishes to take out - i almost cried when I saw what we got for $20. The meat was tough and looked so unappetizing that I didn't take a portion. The other dish was almost all rice with some sliced sausage and a tiny bit of cooked lettuce and egg. I could not even give the place a half a star. I have never been more unhappy ( or even as unhappy) with food I have purchased anywhere.

This place is kind of authentic. They have some dishes that you don't normally get in other Americanized Chinese restaurant. We had the spicy beef and that was awesome! Hot and flavorful! Some of their dishes have a lot of veggies, so I'd say it's a healthy eat here! It's close the campus, so that's a plus. It seems like you can get unlimited refill of plain rice. These few Chinese guys kept adding rice! Oh, also, if you pay cash, you save some change.

authentic chinese food offered. this may be for real chinese. i think if you like the authentic chinese food, this is the place for you. this place is unique on purdue campus. rice cafe and any other chinese restaurant around purdue are americanized. i like what i tried here. i have not tried all the dishes of Fulam. But, my friends who are eating a lot at Fulam told me this is the best place on campus.

Is the food tasty? Yes Is there enough of it? No They don't deliver a good value compared to other authentic chinese places in town. During the past three visits here I spent $30 on each occasion for two people and have had no leftover. Small portions for the price they charge. Also if you come in around 3-4 when the owner is eating then you are going to get bad service. We had to wait until she was at a stopping point in her meal before we could order, and even then she treated us like crap. I was raised in a Chinese restaurant so when I see a setup like this (where the wife works the front and the husband works the kitchen), I cut then a lot of slack even if things weren't perfect. I understand food service is not an easy industry. But the past visits here have been well below par and does not warrant another return visit. If you are new to the area you should still try it once because they have good options and are conveniently located. Is it a place I would recommend to friends? No The best value in authentic chinese food is the food vans outside physics building at 12 during the normal school year.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
