first began when we were greeted by a grumpy hostess and then seated. We waited over 5 minutes for a server to come and ordered our drinks. When we got them there was literally 7 pieces of ice in my husbands tea and hardly any in my warm water and my daughters apple juice. Next issue was my daughters applesauce served with no spoon and there were no spoons already on the table. Next issue was i ordered a simple mid-rare steak and potato. The potato was hard as a rock on the outside and only half done on inside. Sent it back and got a smaller hard as a rock potato that was more like potato jerky. Then cut into the steak and it was nice and raw! I gave them both back and at this point my husband is practically done and my daughter is finished so i told her i did not want a replacement and please remove from my bill. She comes back 5 minutes later with the steak and no potato. I said i asked you to please remove it from my bill. She then brings back the adjusted bill and said sorry. How hard is it to cook a steak and a baked potato? Thats beginner level cooking!! After we left i called and talked to manager. He assured me the problems wouldn't happen again.

A recently remodeled family restraint that I would highly recommend. Went here on a Sunday for brunch with a group of friends and was impressed with the service and food.

Went there for brunch (11am) on a Sunday. Very busy, (which I take as a good sign!) but we were seated within 10 minutes. The restaurant is definitely not tiny, so when you have to wait to be seated you know a lot of people decided this was the hot place to eat at. (You often see evidence that the local police force enjoys dining at this establishment; I also take that to be a positive sign.) It was just my friend and I this time, but we had a nice booth near a window and near a flat screen tv. Our waiter probably checked on us 3 separate times while we were eating (that doesn't include taking our order or bringing our check), so I was impressed with the wait staff. Both of us got the French Toast (cuz it's just that good). Nothing fancy, as my friend put it (just served with butter and syrup (the latter is on the side)), but absolutely yummy. I also got the hash browns and she got a side of extra crispy bacon. A deeply satisfying meal for both of us. Portion sizes are the new gianormous American sized ones, so you get a lot of food. Our total bill was under $15. Can't really complain about the price for the amount of food. Yes, the pies and cheesecakes do look quite delectable, but there was no room for dessert, unfortunately. Therefore, I can't comment as to whether or not they lived up to their looks. The only slight negative is that their parking lot can be a bit chaotic (especially when there are snowbanks narrowing the spaces more than usual). It wasn't so much that the lot was full, (which it was) as that it wasn't easy to maneuver through (certainly the snow was to blame for a chunk of that). Worse case scenario with their lot being full is that you park in the Pay Less lot a short jaunt on the other side. Definitely a lot of families with kids (of all ages) there and appears quite kid-friendly. There is a nice din, so some squawks and screams from little ones wouldn't be catastrophic. I have been there several times, including taking the parents (and in-laws) there. Thus, it clearly, gets a big 'ole recommendation from me. Highly recommend (at least for breakfast). Note: Breakfast is served all day long. .

Stopped off to eat here on a drive from Ohio to Chicago--wanted to get off the highway enough to avoid fast food. My visit was in October 2011 so just getting to Christos was a little tough from I-65 because of road construction. Service was good. If rating for service alone would give four stars...friendly staff, quick seating over lunch time, food came out fast. I had the taco salad and I'm primarily giving three stars based on food. In hindsight, I think there might have been a better route to take on food choice here (maybe a sandwich or entree instead).

Love coming to this place. Been going to Christo's for the last 15 years. It's the best American food in West Lafayette and the prices are great. Place has a great atmosphere and the service is always friendly. Way better than the chain Applebee's.

The restaurant is very nice...just not the employees. The employees at this restaurant will destroy it. We honestly should have left the restaurant the first time we heard the custodian and host cursing in Spanish to each other. I would also like to thank the waiter for coming back to refill my boyfriend's Coke after he had to drink some of my lemonade due to this waiter never checking back on us. Will never go back unless they do a clean sweep of all the people on their payroll. Owner, get security cameras please you will be disgusted!

Very salty. Everything you order tastes salty. I did have the pulled pork sandwich once and it was ok. Went back and had soup and salad. The roll was like a brick. The soup was salty and the salad was fine. The fact that this place is packed on Friday nights is a reflection on the lack of restaurants in West Lafayette and not how good the food here is. I have heard that the breakfast food is good.

The breakfast and dinner plates (for the most part) are delicious, but the dressings/sauces taste value-priced-store-bought. Service is also slow.

Driving to Indy from Chicago to a Colts game, stopped in town for dinner. Not sure where to go, we plugged in Applebee's and figured we would find something else, once we roll into town. Not too many Yelpers in town, so finding a place based on reviews was tough. Saw this place and decided to give it a try. Food: Some Greek touches on the menu: Greek fries (w/melted feta), Souvlaki and Gyros. We chose to stay with standard American fare. - Sample App plater was good, but the ranch dressing was watery - Salmon was ok, nothing special - I asked if the Ribs were good, told they were excellent; they weren't. - Spaghetti with meat sauce was nothing special - BLT, plenty of bacon, but it was a bit dry The waffle fries where either not cooked fully or sat out for a while; they were not crispy at all. All the food tasted homemade, by that I mean the ribs, spaghetti tasted almost identical to when I make it at home. Since I'm no great chef, that is not a good thing. Service: Attentive Price: Decent value, but nothing really stood out that would get me to return.

First time eating here tonight, even though we drive by it all the time. Wasn't sure what to expect but we're pleasantly surprised. We got the loaded bacon cheddar fries appetizer - huge portion, definitely got our money's worth. Salad was so-so, but even the croutons were clearly homemade so that was a nice touch. I ordered the pot roast stack - really tasty but I couldn't finish it just because I was so full by that point. Boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwich, he finished it all so I'm guessing it was really good. We'll definitely be back sometime to try other dishes!

Pretty good. Food is alright but lacks flavor. I got the steak and eggs. They forgot the cheese on my eggs, my steak was bland and my potatoes were blah...just potatoes. I highly recommend route 66 down the street. Friendly staff here though.

Great place for a break lunch. I ordered a skillet, it's nice and I suppose that's good till dinner!

I'd never been to Christos and wanted to try something new, so, I called ahead to book a table for 10 people. When we arrived, our booking was nowhere to be found and, after questioning whether I called the right Christos (there are two in town) the hostess didn't know the restaurant's phone number and ran out back to find out. Fortunately, they weren't too busy and accommodated us in no time. We ordered appetizers as we waited for the rest of our party (the Munchy plate) and that came out fairly quickly. The Fried zuchini and fried green beans were ok--the loaded potato skins were awesome. The server was very attentive and engaged. There is a lot on the menu, however, it all looks good and is priced pretty fairly. I ordered the Ribeye/Shrimp Combo with Waffle Fries and an egg. Everything tasted really good. Could've done with a little less breading on the shrimp, but it was fairly easy to remove most of it (I mean, I got it down to a one-bite action). All-in-all, a fairly pleasant experience with pretty good food. I think I'd go again.

We picked up takeout from here the other day and really enjoyed our meals. I had the country fried chicken (the online menu is out of date and mentions a chicken fried steak that they no longer offer, but it was no big deal because I like chicken just as much if not more). I had it without the sausage gravy because I don't eat pork and was a bit worried it would be too dry. It was delicious. The meat was juicy and the breading provided enough flavor that I didn't miss sauce. The mashed potatoes it came with were excellent as well. My husband had a Philly wrap and enjoyed it very much. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the entrees, most of which are less than $10. We'll definitely visit them for a sit-down meal.

We are long time customers at Christos since moving to West Lafayette. The staff is always friendly and the management does their best to take care of you. Grits are not on the menu but one of the managers, Manny goes out of his way to make me grits when I come in for breakfast. Thats the kind of service and attention that make me appreciate living in a small town.

I'm not super familiar with the area of Purdue, but I'm attempting to learn. One of my brothers goes to school there, so I try to make visits every now and then and am always open to trying new places. He chose Christos and was very excited to show me their crazy large menu. And he was right. They literally served every thing under the sun. ha First of all, a place that has THAT many options kind of makes me nervous because how can you perfect that many dishes? Eh ... tricky. Even so, I knew it was worth a shot and I was in the mood for comfort food. And then my eyes found the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Interesting choice for me at a restaurant, but I gave it a shot. And low and behold, it was wonderful! (The serving was WAY TOO BIG for just me, so consider yourself warned.)

A couple of months ago, I went to Christo's for the first time in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of changes had come to their menu. There is now even a veggie burger listed. Our food that time was decently tasty until we encountered a hair in our Greek fries. They replaced the plate without issue. I recently just purchased a DealChicken deal - $10 for two $10 gift certificates (to be used separately), and I stopped there after work on a Thursday to use the first certificate. My husband and I weren't terribly hungry, so we just decided to share a couple of appetizers, Fried Green Beans and Greek Fries (again!). Everything tasted fine. and between the two of us, we didn't finish more than 1/2 to 3/4 of each dish. Serving sizes are definitely generous here. They have a couple of unique menu items, but fairly standard food overall. Not bad, not great, but okay.

My family has recently moved to the Lafayette area and we tried Christos. OMG!! This place is amazing!!! Everything we've eaten here had been beyond delicious! We've never had a bad meal, the service is great, and the portions are huge. Christos is a regular on our list! Keep up the great work!

Visited Friday night, they have breakfast all day and have a very good selection of food, but the cooking isn't all that great. Ordered eggs over medium, got them over easy, couldn't get through to the waiter the difference. Other than that a good family diner, a lot of police eat here. Prices are ok not great. Nice family diner if you are in a hurry.

First time back in years last night. Interior is modern, colorful, sort-of artsy. Comfort food menu. Had a Gyro. Very good! Overflowing with tomatoes, onions. Meat was thin sliced, tender, dry, almost crispy (but I like it that way on a Gyro), peppery. Pita was fresh and warm. Overall, nice option for a quick meal out. We'll go back.

I'm pretty sure I ordered the wrong thing. My brother had the pot roast stack, which looked a lot more appetizing. My BBQ chicken wrap was really mediocre and not a good deal at $7.99. The "BBQ chicken" pieces were dry and tasted like they were just cooked plain and had BBQ sauce added at the end.

Unexpected great service, host and food was all very good!!!! We ranged from fried perch, gyro, burgers and French toast. I'd go again. It was 3:30 on the afternoon, after several Indiana tornadoes and it was superior service for sure.

I was greeted and seated promptly by the host. Server was also great. I had soup, cajun fish sticks and american fries - all delicious, generous portions and reasonably priced. The menu is huge and they serve breakfast all day, which is a plus. The restaurant itself is very nice, ambiance was ok. Less than impressed with politeness of manager at the end of my meal. Overall, experience was fine. I probably won't go back.

I went here this morning. Didn't eat or drink much. My coffee cup was grimey and it also had chunks of hash browns on the outside; I didn't get to see what was on the inside (in addition to the coffee) because I didn't drink any. After we received our food, our server didn't come back, except to drop of some silverware. I did eat a bite of my omelette, delicious, then i noticed hairs on my plate. Stephanie removed the omelette from the bill but not the coffee. Fabulous. A manager never stopped by to apologize our even inquire about our experience. Its there one on staff? The only apology i received was an unsympathetic and an unapologetic apology. I will not be returning. I was unbelievably disappointed. This place looks awesome from the street.

Love this place! They offer many choices on the menu and breakfast all day! The atmosphere is cozy, but yet friendly and food is always wonderful! The staff is top notch!

Middle of the road. Service was fine - attentive enough, but nothing outstanding. Definitely no complaints. Felt like a Perkins. Exactly like a Perkins. Daughter got the french toast, probably the best thing any of us got. I had chicken fingers - tasted like fish breading, kind of bland on the chicken. So I asked for a sauce for them and the BBQ sauce was homemade and pretty good (I don't really like sauce on fried chicken, so I'd have preferred to like it without, but it was a good BBQ sauce). DH got a "monster" roast beef sandwich, which was decidedly average-sized (and the waitress actually warned him that the "monster" label was misleading when he ordered). No big problems, just nothing particularly spectacular.

Came here last weekend with the family and walked away impressed. Nice menu, great flavor, generous portions and fast service what more can you ask for. The biscuits and gravy are exceptional.

It has a large menu with a good variety of choices. I was disappointed with my meal. It was served with spinach and mushrooms. The spinach was way over cooked and tastes burnt. The chicken was cooked nicely, but I couldn't taste any of the amazing fresh herbs it was supposed to be cooked with. I live the atmoaphere, but the food needs work.

Surprisingly cheap. Fairly quick service, most of the time. I love ordering breakfast there at any time of the day. I'd recommend avoiding the iced tea. They're also not a "Greek restaurant," as they advertise. Just general American food, with one or two items that you can maybe call "Greek." Still good for a quick, sit-down lunch on a workday or a Sunday breakfast.
