Sigh.. DON'T GET THE RIBEYE!! OVER HALF OF IT WAS FAT & GRIZZLE. And, the side of mushrooms and onions was not $3.00 worth. .. my husband had an awesome filet mignon. Side of broccoli was seasoned with a touch of garlic ..very nice . If we ever make it back here, I'd get the filet, or try the fish.

I ordered the Mustard Salmon with rice. Could not taste the Salmon for the Mustard Sauce and the rice seemed like it had been cooked earlier in the day and then left under a warmer all day. Dry and hard.

We had been here before when it was new.... We don't live here and don't often come to Vincennes for dinner, but because we had a good experience the first time, decided to come here again. While our food was fine, the hour and a half wait for burgers was not. They weren't very busy and a few tables even came in, ate and left before we ever got our food. Our waiter was a nice enough guy but never even mentioned how long the wait was. We were just getting up to leave when our food arrived. Sweet potato fries were good and the rest was ok. Probably won't spend another evening there though for a while unfortunately... It does have a lot of potential!

Looks good. Looks inviting. The menu lacked punch. Cod and more cod. Plain sandwiches. Same old pastas. I went with the open face turkey and Swiss. So much cheesy sauce I ate about 1/3 of it. Rubbery cold fries, my buddies were too. His chicken sandwich was good but plain. 2 brands of wine, bad and worse. I will not come back, for the price I'd rather hit BW's or something casual. Not a "dining experience"! Like a fancy Applebee's.

Ok we have them another chance and had a great experience! What a difference a night makes! I had chicken livers, loved them! Bartender was super friendly! Love this place - lesson is give people a second chance!

Awesome food. Great service! I had a steak and agree with another users review. Best steak in Vincennes. I'm from Missouri, but can't find better food than this. This restaurant is a most if you are in Vincennes.

Ehh. I have only been to this location once, and I have no plans on going back. The service was great, but the food was so below standard of similar priced restaurants. Chips were old, food was cold. Just a very 'blah' experience.

Pork chops and scallops are great. Really nice inside. Awesome bar. Easily my favorite place in town. Hence the 5 stars. Always a stop when I'm staying or driving through.

Had a party of eight and had a great time! The food was excellent and the service was very good. One of the better steaks that I've had in a while. Very nice restaurant that executed very well. Will be back again and would highly recommend.

We had an enjoyable meal. The food was as we ordered and the service was very good. Since there's a time difference from my home, I would recommend going about 8:00 local time on the weekend (7:00 IL time) as the tables start clearing out. Also, the waitress told us to be sure to ask for the special butter/honey/brown sugar for the rolls. I had it on the sweet potato and it was wonderful!

Very good. Girlfriend and I went for dinner. I had the best steak I've eaten in Vincennes, and she thoroughly enjoyed her turkey burger too. Will recommend and be back!

Visited Gilbert's for the first time. We enjoyed a well prepared meal at a fair price. Wait staff was friendly and attentive, but not too much so. We will definitely return with friends.

My boyfriend and I went on opening day for lunch. They have a lunch menu and a separate dinner menu. It looks nice inside. The booth seat isn't completely secure, and the booth tables are way to close to the seats. Our waitress was very nice and did her job very well. The calamari was good. The grilled cheese was good, but wasn't as melty as I would have liked. The French fries were blan with no taste. My boyfriend had some bacon steakburger he said was alright. He liked the waffle fries (I got regular). Not many dessert options (3). I hope they get better over time because we were pretty disappointed. The manager walked around and asked how everything was. We said "good" because we didn't want to be rude. It is pricey...the calamari alone was $10. The menus were just one piece of paper. The napkins were fancy black cloth ones which were nice. I mean, we will go back and try it for supper eventually. Like I said, I hope it gets tastier.

I can't really complain, because the food was prepared very well. Had the menu been a wee bit cheaper for lunch items considering the size, location, etc. I would have given them a 5 star rating. Now, something I must point out due to my being a foodie and having a lil restaurant experience under my belt, as well as creds to brag. The menu is everything you learn the first few weeks of Hot Foods 101. I was really hoping for something new and exciting. Just my opinion though, not everyone knows that.

Menu is wierd, kinda all over the place. I ordered the Red Chile & Mango Steak salad. It sounded great. It was just ..... okay. The steak was about 5 tiny cubes. It was basically a green salad with tomatoes and blue cheese. The dressing was good, but salad had no mango, no chiles, and no pecans. It was an okay salad, but would not have ordered it if I realized how little I was getting. The food took a really long time to come out. There were a few other people there, but it wasn't very busy. The grossest part is that when we left the restaurant and walked back to our hotel, pretty much the entire kitchen staff were standing out back by the dumpster and smoking. Really gross when you think they were just preparing your food.
