I'm sure I'll be incurring the wrath of essentially every Vincennes resident (both living there or those who have moved out), but I have to just come out and say it: this pizza's overrated because of nostalgia, rather than the merits of the actual product. The supreme style pizza or "Farouk" is one of the favorites and what I usually get on a trip through Vincennes. The pizza itself is undercooked and it could definitely use more sauce (though not this excessively saccharine sweet stuff they're using). They don't skimp on the sausage (which is always a plus), but oftentimes ingredients slip off the pizza when you're handling it, which is where cooking a bit longer would help to keep them on. Here is a place though, where the sides (namely the breadsticks) outshine the actual pizza. Those breadsticks are bready, salty goodness and taste even better when dipped in either the cheese or marinara sauce. The actual space is very tavern-like which certainly isn't a bad thing: reminiscent of a time long past. This will likely be a blasphemous opinion, but after a few visits stopping by to visit old buddies coming from the South going back to Chicago--it's becoming an undeniable fact for me.

6th street best bobe's the pizza is so good. breadstick with spicy nacho cheese are homemade. if in vincennes it's a must stop!

We stopped here on a rainy Saturday night around 8 pm. It looked like we had just missed the rush. The service was good, the pizza was good (we got the Farouk, which everyone says is their special), the breadsticks were great. I've heard the Main Street location is better, so we will try that one next time we are in town, but this location was fine. I'd come back just for the breadsticks with nacho cheese.

Sometimes good sometimes bad. Have been waiting almost 40 minutes for breadsticks. Some tables that came in after us got there order first. Would have left but the food is always good. The loaded pizza is always very good. The staff was friendly.

It's only one of the best pies in the country! I should know, I used to work there. Get extra red, extra cheese, and make sure Sausage is one of your toppings. Get it cooked well done, then bite your slice of heaven.

I love this place! I used to go there when attending nursing School @ VU they have excellent pizza and breadsticks The lunch time salad bar is fresh & delicious. I never go to Vincennes without eating @ Bobes or stopping & getting one to take home!!!

Simply a must have for those born and raised in Knox County. Whether you get the farouk, the stromboli, or the breadsticks you'll come back for more. Get a half baked for the freezer for your emergency pizza fix.

we have eaten here in the past, but over the past few months, they never seemed to b able to get our order right...and by the time my mom would get her pizza w/o cheese.. the rest of us would be done eating every time I am in Vincennes and think about ordering a pizza to take home, I let the phone ring 20 or 30 times and no one ever picks it up. I stopped in to check if the phone number was right and you can't even hear it ringing in the store but it is. maybe they have enough money and they don't need to sell more pizza.

If you want good service, this is NOT the place. I walked in to see tables with food still uncleared. Other tables had not been cleaned. I waited for a waitress for 10 minutes. Finally, I walked out and went to Dominos.

This is one of my favorite pizza places of all time. The pizza has a unique taste and many of the other items on the menu are great as well. This place is crowded on the weekends but it is worth the wait and the crowd. Their sausage topping for their pizza is stellar compared to other pizza restaurants. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

The reason for the 2 stars (Meh-I've experienced better) is because I am partial to Main Street's Byron Bobe's. It's so much better because I remember at Bill's getting super thin pizza and salty breadsticks. I just think salt on my breadsticks is kind of weird sometimes. And I don't like super thin crust.

My family's favorite back in the day but has been passed by some other locals. Take out can be very slow, especially on weekends. Pizza is an impulse meal most times and an hour wait is not acceptable, given the quality of the product. Under-done crust is more often the norm nowadays. Don't know if its because they're busy or just don't care. Limited seating space discourages groups. Not much to occupy kids while enduring a long wait. On the plus side the salad bar, while basic, is fresh and adequate. Soda refills are well tended and the wait staff, while busy, is friendly. This was the original pizza place in town and was legendary in its time. Folks struck with nostalgia who return for "homecoming" still flock there and seem to be satisfied. For what you get its a little pricey and there's other options in town that serve a better product, IMHO.
