I recently went here on a field trip with my daughter's school. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We had a buffet style lunch that was good fresh home cooking. Fried chicken, green beans, fruit salad and fried biscuits. It was very filling and delicious. I would deffinatley bring the kids they would have so much fun here. They also have tractor rides and a petting zoo.

MRS says... Overall it's a 3-star rating because: Food - two stars. we were hoping to try the father's day buffet but unfortunately, we had our name down on the list inside the restaurant not in the country picnic building. there weren't any signs either so we were just lost. anyway the father's day dinner platter in the restaurant was a bit pricey. for $19.99 per person there's two pieces of fried chicken, two pieces of sliced ham, mashed potato, green beans, a white corn, and chicken pot pie. the warm bread was good and that's about it. Barn - three stars. variety of games, rides and activities for children. animals happily roaming around. Farm - four stars. strawberry picking was great!

The restaurant is my least favorite of all the Huber destinations. The food is good, but not great. My overall impression has always been that the food lacks seasoning. A little salt and pepper go a long way, especially on the side like the green beans and mashed potatoes. My favorite items are the fried biscuits with apple butter (NAILED IT) and the strawberry shortcake (man, I wish I had some of that right now!). This is a place you could eat maybe once every year or two and it would be enough. Best suited for large groups due to the family-style serving.

Great wine! Excellent family fun! A little pricey, but worth the experience of pumpkin picking and wine tasting!

Delicious country cooking, no frills. The service was good. My husband and I split an entree and left feeling full. There was even plenty of the sides to split.

While visiting Indiana we met my husband's family members, about 17 people, for dinner here. The place had one huge open space filled with long tables and chairs. It looked like a good place to dine for a large group of people. After examining the menu, feeling this place was more for fried chicken, chicken livers, and dumplings, I ordered grilled cod. The cod was dry and did not have much flavor. I tasted my husband's chicken liver and it was very good. I am not a fan of chicken livers but I liked theirs. I also sampled my daughter's fried chicken and dumplings. The chicken was okay but bland. The dumplings just tasted like flour, no flavor whatsoever. They brought us a few basket full of fried donuts. They tasted okay but looked greasy. The servers did great job of attending all of us.

It's good. The food is mediocre for how expensive it is, they could serve realistic portions and it would lower the price and make it worth it. We took home left overs and they didn't really reheat well. This is the second time we have eaten here and may do it again since we go to the quarterly wine tastings.

Our first visit our to Huber's and was looking forward to it... The farm itself is great with the pick your own strawberries being a great event. Unfortunately the restaurant was a bit of a let down. The food is what it is meant to be, old home cooking. The recipes are straight out of the 50's so if that is what you are looking for then you will enjoy it. The day we came (Friday afternoon) the restaurant was mostly retirees. So the pic is the strawberries on the scale. It cost was $5 and some change. This is definitely worth the trip as it was nice to select our own strawberries. We will be eating strawberries for days...

This working farm is a thing of beauty & if you go there you will pay out the nose for everything you do. you must pay for everything separately. the dinner, the craft show, anything and everything is separate and is very expensive! The food is mediocre at best but they bill it as the best there is. For a family of five just for chicken and ham was over $130. No dessert & no extras. Service was bad. They made us feel like we were a necessary evil tying up their day and the eating areas could've been much cleaner. The host had no smile, just called our name and said "follow me to your table." We never heard a thank you after paying the bill. I don't think we will be going there ever again.

I've been the Huber's on a number of occasions. I've tried pretty much everything they have to offer. I'll say I am originally from Mississippi and to get my fix for my comfort food someone suggested this place years ago. Hence me going on a number of occasions. Their dumplings is not what I remember growing up. Didn't taste good to me. I have a friend who makes dumplings with canned biscuits that taste better. IMO. Sides- Wow. I can't know for sure because I don't work "behind the scenes" but, their sides taste like they come straight out of a can or box. With the exception of the Lima beens and coke slaw. The mashed potatoes are down right disgusting. They really do taste like instant potatoes. Yuck. The corn tasted like it came out of a can with some butter added. Cole slaw is not southern style. My husband liked it though. I will say this last time I ordered the chicken livers and they were good. It's hard to find livers these days I suppose so I am glad they offered them. The friend biscuits are delicious. There is no denying that and that apple butter. All together, not enough to make me want to go back except for the few occasions FIL wants to have a family dinner out.

This restaurant is decent, but for me, it is a bit expensive. It is a family style (all you can eat) restaurant serving homestyle food. I liked the ham and dumplings, but the rest was just so-so (fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes). The pumpkin patch and kids areas were cool (and super crowded). I might feel differently about this if I had kids, but as an adult I wasn't thrilled.

It is a family style restaurant so basically all you can eat. The fried chicken was decent but the ham was pretty good. Biscuits and dumplings won the show for me. Very expensive as I find it difficult to eat $20 worth of heavy comfort food like that. Picking pumpkins was a fun experience though.

I really liked the food when we get carry out but it was just ok in the restaurant and too expensive. Descent service. Not impressed.

One of the top ten worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Fried biscuits and apple butter are so bland that I didnt even finish the first one. Wait staff was a bit slow but kind enough. Country fried steak is a country fried gristley hamburger. Seasoned green beans are very plain (didnt finiah them), the white gravy was very runny, at least the mashed potatoes weren't completely terrible. The chicken livers (both the first and the replacement serving were horrible, the chicken was ok, the corn was also very plain. The hamburger was ok and the fries were a little ok. The manager handled the issue very poorly. She had no apology and acted like were had never had chicken livers before and just didnt know what they tasted like. She proceeded to completely ignore us and at one point sneered at my friend. This was my first and very last time even thinking about going there. And to top everything off the menu is so very overpriced. My replacement for my country fried "steak" was a $10.99 ham and swiss sandwich that was 2 pieces of ham, one piece of swiss on Texas toast. The homemade chips were greasy and a bit stale. Overall a completely terrible experience. My entire party of 3 is slightly sick to our stomachs...

When you're driving the back roads through the Knobs, you can't get away from one advertisement: Joe Huber's. The signage is all over the place, making you think that all roads lead to the farm. After years of seeing the signs, I finally visited and I was underwhelmed. The good food included the fried chicken and fry bread. So, they know how to fry stuff. I am not sure on everything else. The sides all tasted less than "farm-fresh." While normally this wouldn't be a huge strike against a restaurant, we're on a farm. My expectations are a little higher. The service was fine, though nothing to write home about. The surroundings were rural with a number of things for the kids to beg their parents to do including a petting zoo and some small games. I did not visit the winery as it was a Saturday and just a mass of people which didn't seem to lend itself to a quiet, reflective wine tasing. Overall, I can see why some people really enjoy Huber's, but I'm not one of them.

This review is for the Restaurant Only. Not the little gift shop next to the restaurant. And not for the Winery/Orchard area. Now let's do this: I'm struggling on this one. 2 stars or 3 stars?... 2 stars or 3 stars? We're on a farm. An effing farm people. This should have been the freshest, most down home meal ever, right? Not so much. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box, the green beans almost certainly came from a can... What is happening here Huber!? This place has so much potential! I didn't even take a photo because I was embarrassed For Them. The restaurant is huge, but it has No character. It feels like you're in a meeting hall. The chairs were the metal framed, stackable type and the tables seemed to be of similar quality (or lack thereof). I should have taken pictures... I could slap myself right now. It's pricey too! $13.99 for a half fried chicken dinner that comes with 2 sides. I'm shooting straight when I tell you, I could have gone to a fast food fried chicken joint and been happier. At least then my expectations wouldn't have been shattered!!! Ok... deep breath. Here are some positives... Our server was a really nice, accommodating, friendly guy. He did a good job even though our food did take quite a while to come out. The fried chicken wasn't horrible and the roll things they offer before dinner were surprisingly decent. That's it. That's all. I'm so disappointed. You cut me deep Huber... you cut me deep. I'm going 2 stars. 1 star for our server and 1 star for the roll things... they were actually pretty good the more I think about it.

We decided to visit the Joe Huber Restaurant. Like a considerate and prudent diner, I decided to call ahead to schedule a reservation. When we arrived, our reservation had not been recorded. The hostess offered to get us the next available table. After waiting 20 minutes, I reminded her of her promise and we were seated immediately. Upon sitting down, we discovered that on Saturdays in the fall, they do not offer the usual menu. A prix fixe menu was offered but unfortunately it did not offer anything for my wife, a pescaterian, to eat. We chose to dine elsewhere that evening.

Found Hubert's on a motorcycle ride. Came back for lunch . I got the Reuben and my wife had the fried chicken. Neither were worth the price. The chicken was dry, and The Reuben unappetizing. Service was fine. Food unfortunately not worth the money or the drive.

I've gone to Hubers multiple times and everything was great. But this time it was horrible! We wanted to go there to eat but the main restraunt was packed! So we had to go to the second barn. The second barn was a buffet and there was a super long line coming out of the restraunt. We went to the back of the line and after a few minutes a lady who worked there hollered "anyone who brought cash can go to the buffet now!" When she did that it messed up everything. She lead us to the wrong door and when we got there we didn't know where the line was for food so it was a disaster! When we finally got our food we sat ourselves at a table that someone had just left like your suppose to do at a buffet. A lot of people followed the workers instructions to wait for your seat when there was like 10 tables open! When I tryed my food the dumplings and mashed potatoes were good but the chicken and the ham was so bland. While I was eating the worker came over to us and said to eat our food fast because there was a big family coming soon. But they hadn't even cleaned the tables yet! So what I mean is this place is turning upside down into a bad restraunt!

For lunch ? Reasonable. Dinner ? Maybe too pricey. The fried biscuits and apple butter are southern. My Reuben was excellent !! You know the food will be fresh and the decor down home. After a long day of outdoor Huber - this is nice.

PROS: Awesome apple butter biscuits and fried zucchinis. We go here every year. Its a great scenic drive from where we live. I really like the old school ice cream shop and the gift store they have across the street. CONS: Food is cafeteria-like. And nothing is "home grown or fresh." Kinda lame

I used to think this was the best place to eat. I think they have changed management or maybe have new owners. We went to the restaurant on July 26th for my 50th birthday dinner. The only reason I am giving it a two is because I got free peach cobbler and it was good. Years ago they had fresh farm veggies. The slaw used to be so good, and now they take slaw mix out of a bag and throw vinegar in it. The biscuits were fried in old grease. The mashed potatoes had a few lumps in them to give them that homemade taste, but I wasn't buying it. I heard the Huber brothers kicked the sisters out of the restaurant and took over. If that's the truth you need to bring the sisters back. There used to be a wait to eat there on a Saturday, now you can just walk right in and pick a table. I hate to see this place go under, but it's on the way there.

Good Ol' Fashion Quality Time! There is nothing like trapping...I mean secluding yourself with your friends and family in the middle of a farm for team building...I mean quality time. I went with my boyfriend and another couple and the experience was like a Romantic Comedy Montage. We laughed, we picked fruit, we teased each other, we got chased by bee's, we rode on a tracker, and we had a great time. It was pretty reasonably priced for the amount of peaches and grapes we picked ourselves. There was also a market so we could pick up other fresh goodies that Huber's sells. My only complaint is that the Huber Restaurant was pretty unimaginative. No amazing fresh salads or signature dishes. I would stick to taking your food home and making something more amazing. When we got home my boyfriend and I continued the quality time by blanching and freezing all the fruit we picked up. This is definitely a great way to spend some time together and having a relaxing day. Plus you get the rewards of yummy fruit and veggies.

I'm not going to lie, this place raised some doubts in my head as I am used to the fine dining and variety of options in the northeast. But this place really blew me away with the simple and delicious fried chicken and cole slaw. This is an all you can eat place with just one set menu. You can sit down and enjoy the chicken, ham, and sides with the whole family. For $18.99 for adults and $8.99 for kids, you will not find a greater feast! Tip: make sure you make a reservation, even if it's the day of, since the restuarant tends to get super busy on weekends packed with visitors to the farm.

Did you enjoy school lunch as a kid? Are you looking to relive the fresh from a can experience, but for $19.99 a person? Then Huber's Restaurant is the place for you. It is nothing fancy, except the price. I'd rather go to Decca or Harvest or any other restaurant where there is a real CHEF making the meal. Yes, Huber's is just like going to my grandma's for dinner, and she actually lived pretty close by, but she was no great cook. She could make fried chicken, she could heat up a can of green beans, she could even beat potatoes to a pulp and add gravy. But none of that requires much talent, and certainly not the steep price Huber's is charging. ***There are two different eateries at Huber's. The Restaurant and the Winery. Certainly, the restaurant is a 1 Star experience. The Winery, however, is heavenly. If you are determined to go for a meal, eat at the winery. They have al fresco dining with a band most days, and you can open a bottle of their homemade wine and enjoy. It is wonderful. I love pumpkin, apple, peach, and strawberry picking there.

Over priced and when eating there, you would think they the vegetables would be fresh since it is on a farm. And the green beans were out of a can. I will never go back.

The food here is lovely! My favorite, stuck with a class Chicken and Dumplings. It's perfect to come to the restaurant after you've spent a long day out picking fruits/veggies! Enjoy some good southern-esque food.

The only thing home cooked in this joint is the salad. Green beans tasted like the can, very little seasoning. Ham slices consisted of more fat that meat. I'm getting ahead of myself here...hubby and I visited on a Tuesday evening, very few tables occupied. We ordered the patter dinner that included chicken, ham, dumplings, cucumber salad, green beans, corn, biscuits and apple butter. Sounds like a lot of food and would have been if everything was edible. Chicken brought to the table included 2 wings and 2 drumsticks. Another reviewer mentioned that you could ask for more. No where on the menu does it state this. Must be common knowledge. All in all we were both disappointed in our dinner and won't return to the restaurant. Farm market yes...take it home and make it yourself for better results.

Waited 20 minutes to be seated, was busy but wasn't too busy, some of the employees were just standing around texting. Food was okay, nothing spectacular. Gave one star because it took an hour for our food to come out and then another half hour to pay. Ridiculous.

huber's family farm is one of those places that always put you in a good mood when you go. they have seasonal produce that you can pick right off the trees (or vines) - strawberries and peaches in the summer, apples and pumpkins in the fall. and it's a great experience at any age! i remember going to huber's on a class field trip in elementary school and having the time of my life. now, 20+ years later (dang... i'm old!), i still find it a fun place to spend an afternoon. it's also one of those rare activities that both my 2yr old nephew and my 10yr old nephew equally enjoy. after being pulled by the shiny red tractor, picking our apples in the orchard, wandering through the pumpkin patch, and checking out all the goodies in the market/store, we stopped by the restaurant for a quick bite. the food was pretty forgettable (our veggies were all over-cooked and under seasoned), but the fried biscuits w/ homemade apple butter were sinfully good. i would have been happy just having a whole basket of those biscuits for my dinner. so... five stars for the farm vs three stars for the restaurant (two stars for the food, but an extra star for the biscuits!) = four stars overall.

Took my family of 4 here for an early fall weekend. The waitress was nice but was too busy...so much so that she was forgetting everything. We waited over 45 mins to receive our food. Something simple like mustard was forgotten....we asked for it 3 times...still nothing. A lady manager walked by and asked how we were...we told her...she said she would bring it out...still nothing. 30 mins. later and we were done. Asked for our bill and we were shocked! It was a family resteraunt yet they charged a la carte pricing you would see at a higher end resteraunt. Our kids had to pay separately for each other their menu items...hot dog, fries, and drink. Our family of 4 bill for sandwiches, fries, and drinks was $75! Ridiculous! If it had been good food it might have been worth it...but it was not. I do NOT plan on ever going back...NEVER. EVER.

I have been to this place multiple times. I walk away full and ready for a nap. I can't speak on the wholeness of the experience, like Mr. and Mrs. G, because I have only been to the store and the restaurant The country style meal is comparable to authentic Amish cooking (I have been to Shipshawanna, IN, where the children work an 8 hour shift and the English still have gravy on their shirt). The atmosphere in the restaurant is nothing extravagant. It looks like a cafeteria, but the room is big with little echo so you can enjoy a good conversation with your family and friends. The store is ok. There are a lot of trinkets and industrially home made goodies. I have to say, if the food wasn't so good, then I would have given them 3 stars. If you are driving on 64, it is a little out of the way (like 15 min), but still worth it.

This was my first time to visit this farm (restaurant) although I had heard how good it was. I arrived around 3 o'clock on memorial day so the restaurant was not busy and was seated immediately, the rest of my party arrived about 15 min later. The hostess and wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Once everyone ordered it took forever for the food to arrive, our group of 6 ate 2 baskets of bread (very good) and still was waiting for food. The food was very good just not sure it was worth the 25-30 min wait. Still not sure why I don't want to go back if they were busy. The waitress we had was not in tune to our table at all, we had to wait for drinks and even had to go find someone for refills (this is one of my pet peeves). The market was ok just a bunch of over priced trinkets. I don't know if I would go back.
