I was driving around the Southside of Indy on a sunny Sunday afternoon hoping to find someplace different for a lunch/Yelp review. While I tend to prefer local, a "new to me" chain is always acceptable and Uno Pizzeria & Grill fit the bill. I will note that it actually says "Uno Chicago Bar & Grill" on the exterior of the restaurant, a free-standing building in a large commercial center at the corner of Emerson & Southport Road. While pizza is considered Uno's specialty, they do offer an incredibly diverse menu that pretty much has something for everyone including those who need gluten free. They have a 2/$12 menu special along with small plate appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, chicken specials, pizza (flatbread, artisan, thin crust, and deep dish), seafood, steak, a beer & wine menu, cocktails, and party platters. The exterior of the building has a definite bar & grill feeling to it and offers up a few accessible parking spots with appropriate curb cuts. The double-door entryway into the restaurant has slightly heavy double-doors that could be tricky for someone with minimal upper body strength or range of motion. While the host area was well populated and friendly, they weren't necessarily rushing to help. With four employees at the host area when I arrived, it would have been nice to have seen one go above and beyond (though one did eventually at least move toward the entrance). I was seated quickly and was pleased to be offered my choice of either a two-top or four-top table. Being of reasonable intelligence, I took the four-top located near the front entrance but separated by a 1/2 stone wall and featuring a window along with an adorable baby a couple tables over. I was happy! I'm in the early days of having given up sugar, red meat, dairy, alcohol, and all caffeine except my beloved unsweetened iced tea. I was in the mood to splurge, but also wanted to respect this newfound choice of mine. So, I settled on fish & chips and my usual unsweetened iced tea. The entire meal ran right about $17, a tad steep in my opinion and an opinion I had for most of the menu. Uno is definitely not in the "under $10" club, though you can fairly easily stay within the $15-20 range. While I understand the pizza is the specialty here, if you're going to have a diverse menu then I have no problem serving up reviews of those areas of the menu that are not considered restaurant specialties. If I had to rate Uno on food alone, I'd probably go with a 3-star rating. The food was good, but not great and I would consider it an average value. While they have several fish specials, it just didn't really have that "fresh" fish taste. It was decent enough, but I doubt I'd order it again. The french fries were more of a shoestring variety with light seasoning. They were good, but not great. The iced tea was quite good and I did get a refill. Uno moves up a notch because of the service of Jenifer, who was friendly, patient, attentive, and gave me the space I wanted to enjoy my meal. She knew the menu, understood that I was reading my Sunday paper and more than once told me to take my time, and was attentive without being overbearing. I can easily give the service a 4-star rating and I move the overall rating up a notch because she created exactly the type of meal and atmosphere I'd hoped for when I entered the building. While Uno isn't really a place for those on a tight budget, for those seeking something between fast casual and fine dining this would definitely hit the spot. The atmosphere is warm and casual. While the food may not be the best you've ever had, it's definitely of a good quality and I'd have no problem returning when I'm back on the Southside.

My friends really seem to like this place so I have been a few times despite the fact it is just OK. Yeah, the decor is cool. The lady bartender on weekday evenings is super friendly and gives great service. The price is high for pizza that is just OK. Twice they gave me the wrong crust, but after waiting - I was starving and just wanted to eat it at that point. I have tasted and enjoy about every kind of pizza you can eat across the country - but I could do better for cheaper. The best deals are the nightly after 9pm specials. I think Tuesday is personal pizza and one of the other days is hamburger. If you add a salad, it is an even better deal. Choices of drafts - nothing that excited me. When I have come with groups, the service is less than stellar. One waiter discouraged our group from getting the "try two" or something like that because it was "not very much food." My friends got it anyways, and we decided the waiter just wanted to assure a bigger tip by discouraging us from the less costly options. They do have wifi which is nice. There are just so many tastier pizza options in the immediate area, that it's hard to rate this one any higher.

I love pizza, it takes a lot for someone to mess up a pizza! I haven't to unos in years (there's none where I live). I ordered the personal pizza and a side walnut salad. It was delicious. Cooked perfectly and the crust was nice and flaky. The personal pizza was enough to fill be up and took some home as leftovers.

I find this place to be quite delicious. Its got an original crust that makes me come back for years. I go about once every other year. They have good drink selections. The prices were right in line with quality ($5 for 22 oz beer). They had seasonal drinks that were creative. I really like how their selection has grown to be more than pizza. I want to go back and try their pasta. Service was stellar.

Try the new 2 for $12 menu. The food is fantastic and so are the portions. Enough for lunch and carry out dinner. I love the buffalo chicken salad and vegetable pasta.

Great spot to hit after shopping or if you're in the mood for deep dish pizza. The ribs are always delicious, but not quite smoky enough for me. This spot is always busy, so hot food is served fresh. I had the chicken spinoccoli with roasted veg and farro salad. Supposedly the farro is loaded with fat and sodium, but I disagree. It has good carbs and protein. The waxiness of the farro is cut by the vinegar. It complimented the chicken very well. The spinoccoli was loaded with tender spinach and broccoli. The baked, stuffed chicken had a perfect layer of crispy cheese. Don't forget to squeeze the lemon on the chicken. I must have hit at the right time as the service was great. No complaints here.

The pizza was OK, but there are better pizza places nearby. The service was really bad. We (me and 5 other people) had to wait over 20 minutes just to get 2 of the 5 salads we ordered. The other three "will be brought to y'all with your main dish" (exact wording). No, I'd rather have it now... After another 20 minute wait we finally got the other salads. Then we had to ask another waitress to flag down our waiter, who was in the back talking, so that he would bring us our meals. Yeah, don't be so surprised by the small tip, Bert. 1/5 because of the service. Would not recommend.

I really enjoyed this place! It has a great industrial vibe straight out of old Chicago. Having never eaten here before, I can honestly say that when I said I would be back I meant it! The dining experience overall was amazing! Being a server myself I know good service when I see it. Our waitress Jenna was very helpful an welcoming as she greeted us at the table. Now to the food. The pick two for six each was an amazing idea and just the right amount Of food. The deep dish Mac and cheese was phenomenal! I think what I liked best was the deep dish pepperoni pizza. Baked just right with a great amount of flavor, just the smell makes your mouth water. The best part of the pizza? The crust!!! Cant wait until I return!! Anxious to try more of their expansive menu!

I have been eating here while on work trips! I sit in the bar and the bartender, Jama?, is great! I love going to places that make you feel welcome and treat you like a friend! My food was always good, hot, and to order! I will return!

I had an individual deep dish pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and hamburger. It was very good ! They're a little pricey, but if you join their e-mail club you'll get coupons for $5 and $10 off. They make the dough fresh daily and the crust is just heavenly. They don't skimp on toppings or cheese, either. This was my first visit, but I intend to try the burgers and some of the pasta dishes, eventually. I sat at the bar and the bartender was excellent. I think her name was Jeri, and she was super friendly and efficient. They have a wide variety of both draft and bottled beer. I went with a couple of Sam Adams Lights, but there were many choices. There is a friendly, cheerful vibe evident from the moment the hostess opens the door for you. I was really impressed and will definitely return.

Friday night at 7. They opened the door, seated us immediately, were attentive, sold us great food for a reasonable price... I love it when the masses forget about places like this.

Awful! Not worth the $..A frozen Totinos pizza has more flavor. That aint how you treat people when "It's so cold in the D"

After a long day of running around this place was chosen as the last stop on our journey. We arrived at about 8:00pm and were greeted by a gal that had no apparent clue how to pick one of two tables to seat us. When our server arrived she promptly got our drinks and then said "I'll be back in a moment". She has done this twice now. When she returned the first time she took our appetizer order and has not been back to the table since to take the rest of our order. I don't get why she keeps disappearing as they are not busy at all. She finally did come back, but it was to drop off the appetizer and told us to talk to her while she did the finishing touches on it. When we started to order she said "hold on, I can't remember that and do this at the same time, I've been here since 11am". So we waited until she was done and then placed the rest of our order. It took an unusual amount of time for our order to come out, again with how not busy they were. When the order did come out it was dropped off by someone else. Our server did stop by a couple more times, but most of those were to make comments about how long her day was. Being that I work retail I get the "long days" but I don't make that my excuse for poor service.

We ate here with a large group of people pretty late on a weekday. The staff was amazing. I went here with a large group of friends and one of my friends always makes a point to harass the staff in a playful way. The waitress was very friendly she was fast with the refills handled our being there so close to closeing time. She also was able to handle my friends. The food was very good the place had a very cute look to it. The drinks were great to. I got a red wine sangria and it was honestly the first time in awhile where the wine didnt taste skunked to me. So a very good drink in my book.

We eat here because we like the pizza, however the service this last time may stop us going there all together. Our waitress complained about other tables, then didn't refill drinks, forgot to put in appetizer order, and then was amazed when we actually said that she did a poor job, she told us that we should be happy since she is working and not smoking outside. It was very disappointing.

This is a great spot for lunch. It's close to the office and with fall here...I was in the mood for soup and to sit and read in quiet.....However not today. I walked into the bar towards the end of an obvioulsy busy lunch rush. No bartender or waitress to be found. Of the tables that were open, every single one of them were dirty and piled with the previous customers plates, forks, lemons whatever...it was almost a disaster. Clean as you go! So I sat at the bar...wondering if I'd get acknowledged...finally. Ok. easy decision. Lunch deals. Pick 2 it's simple and failry fast and there is a lot of options. I went with soup and pizza of the day. Soup bar is always good. Fresh hot soups. Pizza is good too! Bartender/Waitress today..maybe she's new I don't know but she was never around it seemed. I was there for about 30-40 minutes and all the tables that were dirty when I got there were dirty when I left....I normally am a huge fan of this place. But lately it seemse like no one really cares what's going on in this joint.

I've never eaten in the restaurant. But we get carry out all the time, the pizza deals are good and the quality of the pizza is very solid. The double deep dish deal is a great special and worth every penny.

Another tip - carry out deep dish pizzas are a steal! The atmosphere at Uno's is nothing to rave about (not terrible, just not great), so carrying out is the way I prefer to enjoy my pizza! Two regular sized deep dish pizzas (which feed 2-4 each) are only $19.99... or get two flatbreads for only $13.99. Either way, a great deal

This is no Giordano's pizza. But if you are "dying" for Chicago style pizza, this is the place to go in Indy. I prefer this location, instead of the north side location (see my review on other location). The seating area and ambiance are different than the other location. I think the seats are more comfortable here. There is enough space for small or big groups. The servers seem happy and are willing to help you. My family and I always come here only for the deep dish pizza. The thin crust pizza is my kids' favorite.
