Breakfast is OK to poor, prices are average, and service is average at its best. Even when sitting at the breakfast bar with 3+ servers walking right in front of you, don't expect any quicker service or fast drink refills. The staff is friendly and seem like they enjoy their work and the customers, but they are just a bit slow at following up. Maybe they're used to retired people who can sit for an hour with no place to go, ha. The all you can eat fried chicken and fish on weekends was poor, after one plate of each, you really don't want a 2nd order, and by the time it takes 15 minutes to get the food refill, you're ready to leave anyways. C The chicken was way under cooked, very pink, and near bloody. It had to be sent back for fear of raw chicken and food poisoning. Fish was very bland. The skillet plate and side of biscuits and gravy, although the gravy was only luke warm, was OK to eat, just average in taste. Maybe one day they will get better trained cooks and servers. Until then I can NOT recommend this place to eat, sorry.

The owner used to give a free meal to my veteran boyfriend on Veteran's Day. Our server said no this year. And no veteran discount either. WHAT? Nice way to support the troops, Grandma's. Ick.

We just went to Grandmas Pancake house for the first time. Wow, what can I say, it was delicious. We had Pancakes and French Toast, will be going back for Dinner and try some Ribs and Gyros. It is worth the drive.

Really disappointed. We drove to Selbyville just for the pancakes, which were thick and doughy. Maybe the other items were better, but we will not make the trip to find out. The coffee was not bitter, but nothing to write home about. The staff were friendly and efficient. They, the staff, were the best part of the experience.

Mediocre service, expansive menu of pancakes served with watered down syrup, average prices....absolutely nothing special.

Ohh boy, did I get excited by these pancakes! I ordered the Hawaii pancake. Four delicious cakes topped with pineapple and strawberry and a cherry on top! Ohh did I mention that it came with a freaking umbrella, yeah it did. Heck yeah! The cakes were warm and yummy. The service was beyond awesome! I highly recommend this place. I want to go back and try non breakfast food.

Had the Hawaiian Pancakes on Memorial Day this year. Could not have been more American. Absolutely delicious. It was like having a dessert for breakfast. Everyone at my table loved their food as well and the waitress was very friendly. Great small town joint. Highly recommend.

My wife & I have dined here a few times. When we first started going here a couple of years ago the food was pretty good, but every time we went the food was worse and worse, until the last time we went it was really bad... so bad that my wife refuses to ever go back. Stay away from the sandwiches (hamburgers, tenderloins, etc.) & stick with their pancakes for best results.

We stopped here on the way to Chicago. We love breakfast for dinner! This was a quaint local restaurant. The food was above average and the server was super friendly. We had pancakes, french toast, omelette, and crepes. Everything was delicous The price was also reasonable which is another plus.

We live nearby and go to Grandma's about once a month or every 2 months as a breakfast treat. We have never had any issues as far as service or quality of food. You will NOT go hungry here! The portions are huge and everything I've had so far has been delicious. A favorite is their pancakes. Large, fluffy, and melt in your mouth!!!!

Make sure to take the Shelbyville exit off 74 if in the area. Quaint and friendly American town. This place is farm fresh food. Eggs are cooked just right. Potato pancakes are the best. We also tried the pancakes, no wonder the place is called Grandma's Pancake House.

Went here for dinner with my dad. I grew up in Shelbyville but have never been here before. The staff wasn't extremely friendly very "diner-esque" almost like "what do ya have, now get out". I ordered a patty melt and 2 others at our table ordered turkey melts. After ordering the waitress came back and said they were out of turkey so they had to order something else. She seemed flustered and began complaining about the kitchen staff. The patty melt was ok. Very small pre-pattied, likely frozen...tons of onions but not much cheese. The fries and coleslaw were good. The part that most concerned me was when I heard the hostess see and older lady walk in and said "I hope she doesn't think she's coming in here to eat 5 minutes before closing! I'll have to make a new pot of coffee and I'll charge her for the whole thing instead of a cup!" Maybe she didn't remember we were sitting there. I just don't like places that speak poorly about customers. Especially elderly customers who likely can't cook at home and want a little dinner out. Really disheartening.

We had to send one of the entrees back..due to the chicken being visibly raw in the middle. I have cooked for over half my life..and I HAVE ALWAYS checked the temp...and the sad thing was it was sliced for plate presentation. HOW DID YOU MISS THIS?! Shame on you..and for the record..not cool!! I will NOT return..not even if it was for free. Chicken is a dirty bird..at least TRY to cook it clean!! Shame..shame..

Had the gyro dinner and it was delish. Their fries and cole slaw topped it wonderfully. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. For me this is the best place to eat in Shelbyille. Their menu has plenty to choose from. I also recommend their omelets and manhattan's

this is middle america - great little diner that has all the standard fair. I had a hot open turkey sandwich with french fries, rather than mashed potatoes. And I asked for the gravey all over everthing - as we do in Baltimore. Yummy comfort food. Nice people.

Great food, Great service, Great prices and a nice little outdoor veranda for those wanting to sit outside. One of the best places to eat in Shelbyville. The servers are always very friendly and very attentive .The Gyro and Greek Pork chops are recommended, as are the home made soups. I have not been for breakfast yet, but if it is the same quality as lunch/dinner then its a sure winner.

My grandfather was a cook in WWII and legend has it that when he got home, he would usually make large quantities of whatever he was making since he was used to serving up meals for his fellow troops. When I saw my pancakes at Grandma's Pancake House on Sunday morning, I thought for a second that my Grandfather was back in the kitchen. This beautiful stack of four plate sized pancakes was placed in front of me, I was shocked. Covered in beautiful baked apples and a light dusting of powered sugar, it was a bit of a work of delicious art. I even mentioned to my better half that it looked a little like the Capital Records building in LA. Our server was great and did give me a little light natured teasing about not being able to finish my meal. The size aside, I have never tasted pancakes like these before. Apple cinnamon pancakes with just the right amound of spice to provide a comforting kiss to the taste buds. Sadly, we don't live closer to Shelbyville, but I would happily recommend this nice little gem to anyone travelling up and down I-74 between Indianapolis and Cincinnati.

On our way from Indianapolis to Cincinnati, we spotted the billboard for Grandma's Pancake House and decided to stop for breakfast. Based on the reviews, we thought it would be awesome, but this place left a lot to be desired. Service was horrible, the server acted like bringing us our food was out of her way and she was doing us a favor. The food looked great but was cold and the pancakes very dry. I don't recommend the 3 mile drive off the highway. We will not be back.
