An unplanned stop in became a true treat of a find. Food was very affordable. It cost us $5.95 each for the unlimited salad and soup bar and they threw in a pork sandwich and chips! Its run by a family that knows true southern hospitality and cooking. Even their sweet tea was brewed the true southern way. I definately recommend this place.

Great little place for scratch BBQ! New managing partner knows what he's doing. The baked beans are incredible! Definitely stop in and see the changes and enjoy the great food!

We don't get to Shelbyville, real often, but when we found we were returning for an event, and were metting out of town friends there, we knew we had to take them to Florida Cracker based on our past experience. Sadly, it was nothing like the last itme we were there. The last time I was there, I was SO impressed with the brisket, and had been craving it all week, and knew that was what I wanted. Guess what? Theyv'e taken brisket off their menu. I'm not sure I recall going to a BBQ place without brisket, but, oh well, I'll get the smoked sausage. THAT also was outstanding last time. Sadly, it is not run of the mill grocery store type smoked sausage...again, nothing like what I had before. Well, the BBQ baked beans were outstanding last itme, maybe they'll be the saving grace. Nope. They seemed to be straight out of the can beans. All in all, a pretty mediocre meal that makes me wonder if they're under new ownership. I'll be generous and give them a 2 because the service was friendly and good, but it's been a long time since I've been this disappointed in a restaurant.

Traveling from Illinois to Cincinnati and found this gem on yelp. Great pork bbq, smoked chicken wings, homemade slaw, homemade potato salad. Great prices and friendly wait staff/management! So great to find a place like this when traveling instead of stopping at the cookie cutter fast food places. Yum!

Best BBQ ever!!! Friendly ppl too!!! Finally a good barbecue place in Shelbyville. And they cater too. They have very good coleslaw. A cold beer would be nice to have to go with it. They said maybe later.

On my way back to Virginia I spotted a billboard for the Florida Cracker and decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad I did! The service is fast and friendly, and the food is delicious! I had the pork rib combo and my husband had the beef brisket. Both were tender with just the right amount of smoky flavor. The portions were large enough that neither of us finished it all. Being from the South I was reluctant to order sweet tea, but that, too, was done just right - not too strong and with plenty of sugar. If you're in the area I would recommend giving the Florida Cracker a try. If I lived there it would be one of my regular spots.

I'm from Georgia, so I love good barbecue, and this place sure has it. Definitely recommend stopping in for a casual, delicious lunch. They recently started accepting credit cards too, so no stress about needing cash anymore.

Was asked to give the place a second chance due to new ownership. Glad I did the wife and I came in right at opening soup bar is a great addition but the whole place had a new vibe. No surprise it got busy as we ate the food is a thousand times better and our waitress was very warm and friendly creating and helping everyone in the place. Well done and keep up the good work we will be back .

Interesting decor, place just opened about 1 year ago in Shelbyville, another one is on this edge of Greenfield, but different owners/ operators, just same name. The BBQ is tasty, the sauces are OK to above average, but could use a few more flavors. The poor mans daily lunch specials are not very good, I have eaten most of them, and learned there is a reason theyre priced so low. You get what you pay for. Pass on those and order from the menu for something more tasty. Service is fine and friendly. Unfortunately it seems the food has been going downhill since they opened, and its not nearly as busy inside as it was a few months ago. Hopefully they will change things and not go out of business, as its a neat concept place to eat. They were only accepting cash, but I think they might now accept credit cards, but not for certain. The prices are as expected for this type food, average.

Oh golly where do I begin!?? My girlfriend and I live in Indy and traveled to Shelbyville for my sons soccer game. We could not find were there was a fast food place to eat so we looked up a place to go near by. What come up was this BBQ place, we were excited to go there to eat reading the reviews everyone said the food was great! Well sorry to say the service was slow, I ordered BBQ beef, the meat was weird it was not shredded like normal BBQ but had a weird smoke flavor, and was cut in precise flank style pieces when you pulled the meat apart it was held together by fat, but it did not look natural. I have to wonder what this meat is and how it was put together? My girlfriend got the sausage, it tasted cheap! Like the bargain sausage you would get at the dollar store! Not impressed and very sad we wasted 50 minutes to get to and from this place making me late for the soccer game.

It pains me to write this review. It really does. It makes me sad to see a local eatery backslide in such a short amount of time, but that is exactly what has happened with Florida Cracker. The first time we ate there in August 2014, we were SUPER impressed and told all our friends about it. Everything was delicious and SPECIAL. It seems that now they have gone the way of the quick fix. Their smoked sausage used to be hand made. What we had last night was obviously pre-packaged. They have taken the incredible brisket they served off the menu because, as our server said, "it went up in price and no one was buying it." The sides we loved have gone down in quality as well. I will say that the service was good and our server was friendly. And the pulled pork is still very good, as well as their sauces. So all is not lost. It was just extremely disappointing based on our first visit here.

We decided to check yelp on our road trip to find a local place to eat. We found that Florida cracker BBQ had good reviews so we decided to try it. The sign simply says BBQ outside. We were greeted by friendly staff who offered us the lunch menu in addition to the dinner menu. It was 830 PM and they were close to closing. The food came out very quick and was excellent. The pulled pork BBQ on garlic bread was the best I have had in a while. The BBQ sauces were great and the coleslaw was very tasty. Highly recommended!
