I like how the quick service makes this little location so convenient. The staff are very friendly, patient, and especially accomodating to those with food allergies. We stopped here on the way to and from Cincinnati Ohio on a late July family vacation. The little gift store full of trinkets and candies is an irresistable 2 minutes to browse and pick up an item or two. Great service, food, and staff-accomodation goes to this Cracker Barrel!

Fast & Quick with good down home cooking! Their green beans are the best ever & thats coming from a farmer that has also dealt with a huge garden for years!

Sorry to say this was not the Cracker Barrel experience I was expected. Service was very slow and when the food arrives it was incorrect. If you have never been to a Cracker Barrel, not judge them all by this review. But if you pass through Shelbyville I would skip this one.

We were pleasantly surprised at the gluten free menu and the wait staff's willingness to check with the kitchen about possible gluten-containing dishes. Everyone was accommodating and the breakfast food we ordered was good. The cheddar grits were great!

Service was Terrible. Manager was reprimanded in front of the customers. It was a sad day for cracker barrel.

The place was crowded which in one hand shows it is well liked. A plus. The wait staff was uninvolved except to grab menus and drop off food. The menus is uninspired and what came out was mediocre. The apple butter was nice. I asked for unsalted fries and the ones I received were. Portion sizes were small. The sweet potato was very small and looked like its been dropped on the floor and was dry and old.

Cracker Barrel is always a great place to stop when you're travelling, but it's also a nice place for a fairly quick and filling lunch during the work week as well. A good cup of coffee, a warm and inviting dining room with a fireplace and waitress with a smile. Eating some bacon and other breakfast food while working hard to bring home the bacon is what's it's all about. My only challenge is venturing around the money. I'll eat just about anything, but I just can't go very far away from my favorite, the Sunrise Sampler. Eggs cooked to order, bacon, smoked sausage, country ham, hashbrown casserole, grits, sausage gravy, cinnamon apples, biscuits and toast. Yeah, it's all there. Did I miss something? I didn't think so.

Cracker Barrel: You are always worth a stop on a long road trip. You provide me a constant reminder of what I would look like 30 years in the future if I consumed copious amounts of biscuits, butter and gravy on a regular basis. People watching at Cracker Barrell can be frightening. It's kind of like being at the zoo at feeding time. The creatures act like its either their first or last meal. Ever. That being said, there are a few healthy options on the menu. Steering clear of the breakfast menu altogether, I order a cup of chicken soup and a grilled chicken salad. The soups are home-made, and if you are in a hurry on a road trip, Cracker Barrel is a way better alternative to fast food. At this location, I felt like an extra in a Larry the Cable Guy video. The family sitting next to us actually scolded the waitress after he had to "ask" for a second basket of biscuits. "I told you we was gonna finish that one, ditn't I?" My favorite part about stopping at Cracker Barrel though, is that I get to shop their little candy store on the way out. Always the same treat - a little bag of multi-color swedish fish.
