Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Mucho portions of tasty Mexican grub for poco dinero. Nice variety on the menu. Friendly and efficient services, quick service. They definitely kept the baskets of chips and bowls of salsa coming for our group. The hot salsa has great flavor and was hot enough to please those of us who like it hot, others in our group mixed the hot and mild salsas together to suit their taste. The fajita were served sizzling and all the other food was very hot and fresh. Clean, attractive dining room. I would recommend this as the best restaurant we have found in this area.

Friendly waiters and manager. Quick service and large portions. Great margaritas. Ordered fajitas quasadilla and was really good. Good seasoning and fresh.

The chorizo dip is very good and my friends enjoy the beer and the combination dishes. We will come back.

Had much better service at a fast food restaurant and the meat tasted like it could use some more seasoning. Everyone I talked to raved about it I'm not the least impressed.

Excellent food and service. The mixed Fajitas were out of this world, simply delicious!

Cheap beers, large portions of food that come to your table fast, great prompt service. Reasonable price for the portion sizes you get. Impressive for Seymour, IN.

Acknowledging that there are limited options in Seymour- El Nopal is very ordinary. The salsa is absolutely bland; it could be just tomato juice & a bit of spice. The entres are very simple. From decor to dinners, there is a lack of flair. This is sort of like a Mexican diner, just the basics and nothing special. Service is good. Booths are a bit small. No ambience (no music). Food was quickly prepared and hot. All areas were clean.

El Nopal is pretty good. I agree with the other reviewers that it is CLEAN, like whoa. It's a typical, family owned Mexican restaurant. They have the same things on their menu as any other Mexican place. I got the veggie quesadilla and the thing weighed about 25 pounds, plate excluded. Definitely good for sharing!

Yes as most have said the place was clean. Wife's has spinach, mushroom quesadilla she loved it . I had the chicken fajita it came out sizzling. Good flavor , good portions. Need to add horchata to the drink menu.

The first thing you'll notice is that El Nopal is very clean. Much cleaner than many 'traditional' Mexican restaurants. As for the food. El Nopal has some unique menu items. I've tried a couple and I've been pleased. But, my favorite thing so far is the Chicken Fajitas. They were excellent! My only wish is that they had a better salsa. They bring you two salsas. One is a bit too hot and the other is too much like ketchup.

In town for a couple days for business, we asked several people for recommendations on where to eat. Every single one suggested this place as their first choice. We had eaten at another Mexican restaurant the night before, but thought we should try El Nopal for lunch since everyone mentioned it. And it seemed that Mexican was the best chance at decent food in Seymour. Lunch was good - quick service, cheap lunch specials, no issues making my combo meatless. I'm sure I will be back if I end up in Seymour again.

Very clean, great lunch fajitas and cheese dip, salsa wasn't my fav but the other food and service made up for it, will stop again!

We tried out this new Mexican restaurant a few times. The food is good, the wait staff is very nice. Lots of room and nicely decorated. A good variety on the menu, the kitchen has it back out to you pretty fast. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable. It is easy to find, on the main street on the east side of town.
