To whom it may concern, I found myself with the unfortunate need to visit the Sellersburg branch of the Indiana BMV this morning. As much fun as we all know that can be afterwards I decided to grab some breakfast. I decided on Cricket's Café. Upon entering I was pleased to find what I feel to be a very welcoming atmosphere with warm décor and a friendly staff. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with spinach, tomato, and green peppers. This came with my choose of either regular or wheat toast. With it I ask for a cup of coffee which I was surprised to find had the option of being light, medium, or dark roast. I found a comfortable seat and set back enjoying my audio book to wait for my order which was delivered faster than I expected. The omelet was amazing. Eggs light and fluffy, and the toppings cooked enough so that they were not crunchy but not so over done to the point where they were soggy. The toast was also excellent. I know you wouldn't think toast would be a big deal but It really can be. It was easy to see that quality was taken into consideration and I can only believe it must have come from a bakery. The coffee I would also like to point out was on the same par as Heine brothers or Starbucks and though I do not know the brand I must make it a point to inquire on my next visit. As though all of this was not enough to make me want to go back we should definitely talk about the high quality of service. I was never introduced to a "traditional" server but instead it seems that the entire staff was dedicated to all of the patrons needs. At any time should either my water glass or coffee became less than half full a refill was promptly served. Once done with my meal my plate was quickly recovered and I was offered a to go cup of coffee. Of course you would expect to pay to a pretty penny for such service and quality of food. But no the total bill for this exceptional waking dinning experience was under $8 dollars. Making this exquisite little café my breakfast destination for the foreseeable future. In closing I believe that you owe it to yourself to skip the same old same old and enjoy something new at Cricket's Café.

Great service, very nice people. Huge menu needs to be cut in half, after looking around the restaurant it looked like most people ordered the basics, or special. Bacon was good, portions were big. Biscuit gravy had ok flavor very thick, maybe a little too thick. Biscuits are representing of the south and they seemed to be southern. Dish was under salted and was just ok. Coffee was burnt and not much flavor. Typical diner coffees although wife enjoyed the dark roast, it had good flavor. Place is clean and had quick service. I can only give three stars because they made technical cooking errors. Like gravy could be so much better, no seasoning and ordered egg medium and they put in middle of hashbrowns and under gravy so it cooked it hard.

So they are open on Sundays now. I still say service is wonderful. But last time I ordered the Sausage and Egg Croissant was not all that good. If you are in food service industry, it should be good every time, not a hit or miss. With that said, still three stars.

We go here fairly often for breakfast. Food is always good. I like the dark roast coffee too. Everyone is always friendly. I really don't have anything negative to say.

Breakfast all day. I'm sold! Another great selling point for Crickets - it's locally owned and operated. This is such a rarity for restaurants at interstate exits. If you're traveling on I-65 and passing through Sellersburg when hunger strikes you, this is a great place to stop. The food is fine. I had a veggie omelet, a biscuit with jelly and an americano when I lunched there. It wasn't gourmet, but it was good. It was incredibly inexpensive and the service was great. When a woman came out to clear our dishes when we finished with our meal, I asked her if the establishment was named after someone. She smiled and said, "yes, it's named after me. I'm Cricket." I love supporting local people who are following their dreams and working hard to be successful. Apparently, they cater too. If you're in the market for that service, I would check them out. Their prices are sure to be reasonable.

Before I begin my official review of Crickets Café, let me say that this is not a hip, hole in the wall café that has dishes that use aolis, compotes, candied meats, flambéed fruits, etc. This sunny local café doesn't claim to be any of these things, it just claims to be a yummy, well priced café that caters to its local audience. And that it does quite well. Crickets Café is a staple in the Sellersburg, IN community. On any given day you will find moms that are running errands on the patio enjoying their morning latte, a small meeting going on in one of the large booths, or even a few friends meeting up for some lunch on a busy day in between school and work. Crickets offers an abundance of delicious lattes that are priced well and definitely made with love. They have soy, skim and 2% options. I highly recommend the Eclaire latte that features chocolate, vanilla, espresso, milk and whipped cream. I go for the soy option -- these people know how to make proper latte foam! They also offer bottled green tea, water, soda and of course sweet tea. This eatery offers an array of absolutely scrumptious breakfast options such as hand dipped French toast (white or wheat), breakfast burritos with amazing salsa on the side (an option of spinach or white wrap, add as many meats/veggies as you want, base price 1.99 and they are HUGE and grilled like a panini), egg and cheese croissants (again, add the meats that you wish, I like to add turkey bacon), and omelet platters. They're lunch options are even more plentiful with full sized baked potatoes decked out in styles such as my personal favorite, the taco potato featuring seasoned beef, lettuce, cheese, tomato and sour cream and others like bbq. They also have club sandwiches, cod sandwiches, beautiful and fresh salads in the classic garden style, soups and any other café fare that you prefer. The eatery is extremely clean, I mean, its amazing the cleanliness of this café. Even the bathrooms smell heavenly (and are decorated really well, quite cute!). I truly appreciate walking in to a clean place to eat where there is always a great sunny seat. I love chilling out here with my laptop, a delicious latte and a breakfast burrito or a freshly made sandwich and fries. This is the kind of place where you can come and relax, enjoy your food while being waited on by the entire staff and you never feel left out here. The staff is really great and I appreciate their attentiveness. Overall: This is a great addition to Sellersburg/Clarksville and I am thankful to have a friendly, attentive café with great food and for once, no fuss. Just good ol' eggs, bacon, coffee, sandwiches, and the like. The prices are really great and the food is highly customizable. The only reason I give four stars instead of five is that they close so early. 2:00pm! A lot of the time, I'm not even up yet! I recommend this joint if you're in the area, but don't drive from Louisville and expect Wild Eggs or Highland Mornings.

Went there Saturday morning before going to Holiday World. It was about our 5th time visiting there and is always consistently decent. We love the atmosphere and they offer Groupons all the time so that's usually when we take advantage of their close location to our home. I had the sausage omelet and added mushrooms and it was good. Not great, but sufficient. The kids all got the breakfast special which was biscuits(2) and gravy and a meat and also includes a drink for $4.99. We'll go back again for sure.

Groupon always has deals for this cute little cafe, located right off I-65, convenient to the southern Indiana shopping areas and on your way from Louisville to Indy or the outlets in Columbus. Good basic breakfast and lunch fare at ridiculously low prices. Cute decor (a bit kitschy but ok). Good coffee. Drive-thru but go inside ... it won't take any time.

This place has a lot going for it, but the first two that have to be pointed out are that its the cleanest place in town, and the most fairly priced. I got an omelet, a side of bacon, 4 pieces of toast (2 slices of bread), and a coffee for $8.00.

Crickets is a decent coffee shop but a disappointing restaurant. I stopped by Crickets for the first time on Saturday after purchasing their $10 for $20 Groupon. Their menu is huge and cheap so for $20 my boyfriend and I were able to sample a variety of items including their cheese omelet, chocolate chip muffin, biscuits and gravy, waffles, bacon, eggs, and a chai latte. The chai latte was by far the best of the items that we sampled. If I lived in the area I might consider stopping in again for items off of their drink menu, but I wouldn't drive out of the way to get one. However, the food was all mediocre at best. The biscuits seemed to be of the Pillsbury grocery store variety topped with an extremely simple pepper gravy. The cheese omelet had no seasoning at all. Even the delicious looking chocolate chip muffin proved to be dry causing me to wonder how many days it had been sitting on the shelf before it was served to me. I'll also mention that Cricket's hours are extremely limited. It took me weeks after buying my Groupon to actually use it because they are only open until 3:30pm M-F, 2pm on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays. There are definatly better options out there than this. I doubt I'll be back.

Awesome. Sausage egg and cheese was a 8 out of 10. Biscuits an gravy only a 4. I was disappointed in them. The cappuccino was a solid 9 out of 10. Def will be going back. Jut not for b&g. Atmosphere is very nice and staff was more than helpful, and very friendly.

What a gem! We stopped in here on a road trip north up 65 and were pleasantly surprised! Thank you to Jeremy for posting the review that convinced me to give this place a shot! The cafe is very clean, cute, and comfortable. They have very nice restrooms with hilarious signage all around...and the food is fantastic. Filling portions for really reasonable prices delivered quickly and a friendly family staff. Definitely stop in if you're in the area!

tpopp Memphis, IN You won't find a better spot to hop off the expressway and the rat race to relax and get some work done on the internet or just sit back and enjoy a great hot breakfast or lunch. Easy off I-65 at exit 7. Large menu and they are willing to please. If you don't see what you want ask. Great patio out front to soak up some warm sunshine. My favorite is their Tomato Basil soup and a half of a sandwich. Just right amount for a health lunch. They do have some desserts but wish they had a larger selection and maybe even some ice cream would be awesome addition. Hey Cheryl bring on some more goodies!

Saw billboard on expressway and stopped. Great omelet...real choices in coffee and the price was reasonable. Everything was clean and service was well done. Glad we found this place.

Truly, the only thing they have done really well is their atmosphere. They have the coffee shop thing going on, and that part is fantastic, but the coffee was just bad, and the food mediocre. Appearance was good, but taste is where it is, and this is not where it is. I had the omelette with bacon, cheddar cheese and onion. I was so sick after eating it I had to lay down. I suspect the eggs were an 'egg product' from a carton, the bacon a inferior brand, possibly even fake or 'instant' bacon. The cheese was just average. The onion was red onion and would have been great had it been sauted a bit before being put into the omelette. No one wants raw onion in their omelette. I ordered a latte and it was awful. Few choices to dress it up either. Better quality ingredients would be a good move. They really wow you when you walk in with the feel of an authentic coffee shop, gourmet eatery, but the food was just not high quality.

Delicious BBQ, sweet tea, potato salad, and a super friendly family owned staff! One of the best food surprises on our road trip north on I-65.
