I always have good service when I come here and leave the place with a really full tummy! It's expensive yes, but you get a huge burger and it is really tasty. The burger is a little odd because all the edges are flat and crispy. The burger itself is really juicy. The crispy edges are awesome and taste wonderful!! I tried a ham and cheese sandwich once and it was pretty blah so I will stick to the burgers! I also tried the Stuffed Green Pepper Soup and that WAS really good! The fries here are delicious with the right amount of crisp and soft potato-ey in the center! I am also a fan of their malts but those I do feel cost quite a bit for the amount you get in the glass. I still get them though. The only thing I did notice is that anytime I get onions, I want to die later. I eat onions all the time but for some reason anytime I put onions on my burger here it rips up my stomach. Easy enough to fix, but I really do like onions on my burger.

Greasy food done right. The burgers are pressed on the grill so they develop these thin, crispy edges that taste amazing. The cheese literally is oozing off the sides because of the oil, and that is a trademark one enjoys when going here. Their chili is OK and everything is a la carte, so it is a bit pricier than most places, but you get what you pay for and will not leave disappointed.

I don't know how I've never gone to Schoop's... I grew up in this area, back in the day(and now) people say how great it is and all that... shame on me. There are a few Schoop's locations in NWI, not sure how the other ones are, but this one's great. Friendly service, super clean and the food is phenoms. Word of caution though, the burgers - Ginormous. In me naivety I opted for a Double Bacon Cheeseburger and fries. When that sucker came out, I pretty much did and instantaneous Face Palm. There was no way I was gonna be able to eat that thing... Take a look see - yelp.com/biz_photos/scho… . So there I was, the first bite... oh... I'm finishing this. The hot crispy edges of the patties, the soft delicious bun, melty cheesy goodness and of course BACON. It's a pretty simple diner, booths and a low bar area where you can see into the kitchen area via a small order window. On occasion you may even see them busily toiling away at making the patties - yep MAKING the patties - pretty cool methinks. I'm glad I finally got around to checking this place out, around here you really can't go wrong with a Schoop's burger. Plus, locally owned and operated :) bonus.

This is hamburger heaven. My girlfriend was raised in this area and when I agreed to visit she insisted that we go to Schoop's one day for lunch. She swears by this place and claims that they have the best burgers around. Schoops did not disappoint. I kept it simple and ordered the "Mickey," a single patty with double cheese. We shared an order of onion rings and french fries. The sides were average but the burger took the show, better than homemade...Next time I am in Indiana this will be my burger spot.

Very clean and I like the decor, it has a unique theme. Our waitress was very nice and great at her job. I ordered a Mickey Cheeseburger and fries, everything was hot and fresh. Everything was great, I have no complaints and I highly recommend!

I wish I was a burger fan because from what I heard these are the best EVER. They have great food regardless, and great shakes, and great appetizers, and great service. You get a lot for your money. They are a town favorite. Anyone that moves away that I know ALWAYS wants to go to schoops when they come back into town, it is a must.

Schoop's is a great respectable family restaurant. My family have been coming to eat here for years because it is so good! The food is delicious and has great prices. I love the chicken nuggets, Mickey, and curly fries.

I no longer live in the area but had to share my opinion. Let me start by saying I have alot of history here, way too much to explain! There is no place like this anywhere I have lived. The burgers have the best crispy edges that no-one can imitate. The homemade desserts are absolutely amazing. What can I say about the owners, they have been in this business a long time and there work ethic is something to be admired. You haven't has Schoops if you don't leave smelling like a burger!

wasn't impressed with the service. our waitress was barely around. a lot of the food is way overpriced. i ordered a tuna melt for over $5.00 and all it was was a tuna salad sandwich with cheese, warmed. as for the tuna salad itself, it was like muck. my company's chicken strips and onion rings were good but i'll probably never go back. the whole experience left me shaking my head....it was a sad experience.

You don't get much more Midwestern than green river pop and green river shakes and malts. Those are what I enjoy most about this place, but their burgers and hot dogs are good, too. One of the few places anymore at which you can go and get curly fries. They also have a jukebox which my sister and I always loved as kids.

Working only a few minutes away, I find myself frequenting Schoops at least once every other week. The staff is very friendly and attentive. You'll often find members of Schererville's Police and Fire grabbing lunch here so don't stop in if you're a wanted felon. ;-) If you're in the mood for a good hamburger, be sure to go in hungry; because their "Mickey" with everything, everything will leave you feeling full. As far as appetizers go, try their "Irish Nachos" although be warned: it's a heartattack in the making if you eat it alone - bring a friend to share it with! Every other Wednesday they make their "beefy mushroom soup;" it's got chucks of beef and sliced mushrooms in a thick beef broth (almost gravy) - but man, does it hit the spot!
