This is the perfect lunch place! The service is always as flawless as the pie. They also catered my brothers wedding and wedding shower and everything was perfect.

Unique comfort food with a great atmosphere. Definitely try the bread pudding! Scarborough Faire Catering also offers great menus for any event. I recently had their citrus chicken with mango salsa - delicious!

They do not have what I call "an accordion menu", it is limited and for people that don't get it... That means the food is fresh! Most places that have a huge menu, well their food is reheated. It's not made fresh daily!! Best things to eat here (or at least my favorites) 1. Chicken Pot Pie, it is amazing and such a great comfort food! 2. The "grown up" Mac and Cheese, it is simple but again a great comfort food and is so yummy! 3. (The best for last) the Chicken Salad Sandwich (on croissant) is so flavorful! I normally do not like Chicken Salad but this stuff is "the bomb!" Also, the desserts are fab! The pies and the cookies are great!! I don't always get to eat here because of the hours but when I can I do!

I think this place is just downright strange. Have you ever seen The Gilmore Girls and their fictional town of Stars Hollow? A quaint little New England 'burb where everyone's a little cutesy-quirky and everything can be solved by a scone and a cappuccino? That's the look they go for here. You're eating in a converted house, there's a very small menu to choose from, and it seems to usually be eerily quiet inside. But maybe that's my issue. Anyway, as you can see from the photos, their covered porch is great. If the weather's nice (which, ya know, isn't often), it fills up quickly during peak hours.

Not sure what they are... A cafe? A caterer? A bakery? Odd hours?! Anyway, we stopped in 15 minuted before closing and was rudely received! We just wanted a cup of coffee and maybe a bakery item. We were scoffed at by the agitated owner/manager who abruptly reminded us of their closing time. We asked about a to go option... After he rolled his eyes we left. What happened to customer service? I can't imagine how they can make any money there-legally. Who turns business away. I would open 5 minutes early and stay open 5 minutes after....

Hello, FOOD SNOB here. You will probably pass this place up thinking its just a house. It looks like a Victorian style house with its L -shaped porch. This porch is also an outdoor dining area. It is nice to come here on a summer evening and have dinner on the Porch. Yes and the food is real good. A simple appetizer of Kettle Potatoe Chips with Blue Hheese melted over. YUM. Tomatoe Bisuqe tasted High Class, along with the Ravioli in Tomatoe Cream sauce. And talk about COMFORT FOOD, the Grilled Meat Loaf was just that. The Blackend MAHI MAHI had just the right amount of spice. OH YES, Baked goods too. Very Fresh, Very Good. TRY IT.

The chicken salad is awesome -- it's similar to Sonoma or wine country chicken salad popular in California. Trust me -- it's better than any chicken salad you're used to in the Midwest. The deserts and treats are just as fantastic -- the bread pudding seems to be the signature dessert. Call and check for the hours (especially during the busy holidays), as they close to prepare for dinner.

Scarborough Faire is another hidden treasure in the Region. Great food and great atmosphere and they have one of the best salads you can get in the area. We've been there for lunch many times, still planning to get there for dinner one night

This place is worth the money. Truly excellent food! It is wise to make reservations since the hours are sometimes differ and it is not a big place.

Been there once. Hours are odd and it took chance on being there when they were open. But the chicken salad sandwich was great.

when you think downtown Schererville, somehow a gourmet restaurant doesn't exactly pop into mind. oddly enough however, there happens to be one right there. arthur serves up some mean salads and sandwiches. the menu changes regularly and service is always with a smile. you can bring the tasty treats to your next party with the catering that they offer as well.
