I highly recommend their chicken Philly sandwich, it's fantastic and I love the fresh-cut fries.

My granddaughter took me here and I was curious to see what it was all about. If you have never been there before and unsure of where to go and what to do, the directional signs inside the entrance are little to no help. I'm not an elderly person by any means and while I'm not always the sharpest in the room, I can generally figure out what's happening. This place was confusing. I ordered a Reuben with fries. I'm still deciding whether the meat was really corned beef or not, but the sandwich was tasty. I had requested Thousand Island dressing on my sandwich and was disappointed at the smudge I got on either half. Would I go back? Yes, probably for carry-out only and to try something other than the Reuben.

Despite the wrong cheese on a Philly (least in my opinion) it was a really tasty sandwich. The hand cut fries were really salty and a bit overdone. I still liked them though, I like crunchy fries. They have a ton of other sandwiches and they have fresh squeezed lemonade. For the diabetics they have diet Pepsi AND diet Mountain Dew. The Mountain Dew was missing some syrup though. The chocolate chunk cookie was huge, soft and delicious. A+ on those!! Worth giving myself a shot of insulin later. I'm going to regret this! I tried to only eat half but this is awesome. Staff was super friendly!! Place was pretty clean, though the tables were a little sticky.

Great Reuben and a custom made Chicken Philly, how nice is that! Don't forget the fries, their addicting. Place was clean and staff was very friendly. Thanks Penn!

This place is awesome, wasn't always the best run penn station I've been to, but after being away for a few years and coming back I've noticed how friendly their employees are! They are also very good at listening to my crazy add ons and getting my meal correct! Awesome job ladies and gentlemen

I wanted to try the new place. As I walked in the guy behind the counter asked me what I wanted, so I rushed thru the menu and said italian. then he asked if I wanted fries? No, I said not with my sub. I didn't know that you could choose chips as I have never been here before. Nor did the girl at the other end offer them to me? It wasn't until I sat down that I saw them. The place was clean and empty. The employees were in a huddle and only one person was actually working. The one making my sub. I finally got it and it was just alright. Nothing special, and I definitely will not be back. Price, attitued and taste. Good night Irene!

Great tasting food, takes a long time, it's expensive for sandwiches. I can't help but keep coming back though.

I had a very satisfying Italian Sub at this Schererville location recently. Although I will admit that Penn Station is not really authentic Philly hoagies, the sandwhich was good! Counter service restaurant which ample seating. You order and pay and they call your number when your sandwich is ready. I like that they have several size choices for the sandwich (6in, 8in, 12in, etc), so you can order to your appetite. My Italian sub had the perfect amount of meat, cheese and toppings. They'll customize your order, so if your sandwich has mushrooms on the menu but you don't want them, just say so. Service was quick and friendly. And the lemonade does hit the spot! Tip: currently if you sign up for their mailing list on penn-station.com , they'll send you a coupon for a free sub. Score!

Long wait, but I wasn't in a hurry and thought I'd try this new-to-the-region restaurant. I was getting carry out. Two sandwiches was all I had in mind. When I got to the order-taker, he was extremely happy and loud. Had to give him my name. Gave him my order. Then he pushed his fries on me. "Never been here before? Well you can't leave without trying the fries!" And he added fries to my order without me agreeing to it. Then he started in on the lemonade. I thought I made the decision to go ahead and try the fries, but pushing a drink on me brought me back to reality. No, I don't want any more added to my tab, thank you! Then you move along and pay someone else. Then they start in on trying to get you to add this or that. Pushy! Like Ed Debevic's in Chicago, but without the fun. There are high ceilings and TVs blaring. Then they scream out names when your order is finished. Since people are seated far away, the workers then wander about with your food, screaming your name. And it takes forever. Food quality = nothing great. Won't go back. Wasn't dazzled. I thought the fries were actually decent - skin on steak fries, which are different than the usual fried yellow sticks in fast food places. But the sandwiches weren't anything memorable.

Almost $10 for a sandwich is a little tough to swallow. Service was good overall and I got a free cookie a couple of times I was there. The fresh cut fries are top notch and the Philly cheese steak sandwich is a heart attack waiting to happen... My kinda meal! Too bad it's so pricey for what it is.

I tried the artichoke sub and was able to try a bite of 2 other sandwiches, and they were just terrible. The only redeeming part of it, was the bread. To put it in perspective, I think I'd rather eat a vending machine sandwich from a gas station.

Penn Station has apparently arrived in Northwest Indiana with this Schererville location and another following in South Bend. With many other sandwich locations to choose from my initial visit was decent but I may be sticking with Quiznos or Subway. Penn Station is a franchise originating from Cincinnati and they offer hot sandwiches that are filling along with fresh cut fries. I tried the Philly cheese steak which was ok to my standards. The fries were ordinary in flavor. They push hard to upsell you to their fresh squeezed lemonade or a cookie and the wait time was longer than average. The decor is modern with a couple flat screen TVs at each end of the room, but nothing that screams eat here for an enjoyable time. The food filled my wife and I but they did forget to give us everything in our order, so check before you leave.
