I'm going to start this review by saying my server haydee deserves 5 stars. She was very nice and personable without being intrusive. The only reason i am giving this review less then five stars is because of past service and i personally believe it takes more then one good experience to make up for a bad experience. I will say i can tell this location is under new management and they are making positive changes. Haydee sat me and took my drink order. Came back swiftly to receive my food order. Less then ten minutes later my food came out. It looked great and tasted great. Haydee never let my coffee run dry and wasn't in my face every thirty seconds trying to refill it. Overall i am very pleased and glad to see the positive changes. I met my wife at this dennys and didn't want to bring her back here cause of the service but now i am confident that i can bring my wife back to the spot we met and have a great time.

Terrible service extremely slow service less than average food very overpriced I would go hungry before I chose to eat here again. Seriously. No exaggeration's if you don't believe me read the other reviews.

Went in on a Sunday morning hungry as ever after a night of swimming and campfires. What a disappointment. The only thing good about this place was our waitress. Sweet as pie. Food was meh. Every thing we seemed to order, they didn't have or didn't have part of it. My friend ordered a skillet that was supposed to come with sausage and mushrooms. No mushrooms or sausage. My kids ordered apples & caramel, waitress served us grapes and said sorry they're out. Food came out cold and eggs weren't cooked right. This place needs a serious change. There is no reason on a Sunday morning they should be "out" of anything. It's Sunday morning for Gods sake. Poor waitress said she goes through this every weekend: having to take people's orders and telling them we're out of this and that. Unbelievable. You would think a Denny's would have it together. NOPE. Take the extra drive and go somewhere in town.

I found myself rolling here recently to have brunch with a friend. Even though my friend warned me of slow service, it was jarring sitting there for nearly 30 minutes before our items arrived. I've been to better breakfast places where your order arrives 10 minutes or less. Our waitress seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else but there. I will say they seem to try and change things up on their menu every now and then. I tried their newest egg sandwiches and they were decent. The food does do an okay job of filling you up...once it eventually arrives.

The service here is the worst I've ever had. We took a group of ten people here to eat, they only got two orders correct and when we asked for refills for our drinks the waitress said "I'll bring them when we have some clean cups." The place was dead. There were two other tables with customers at them. Will never go back!

Went in at 12 and ordered "all you can eat" pancakes. Coffee came quickly. First plate of three took nearly 30 minutes (I read two newspapers waiting). Order had a french fry from someplace and some spinach UNDER the three pancakes - which makes you wonder how clean the plate was to begin with. I mentioned this to the waitress. 2nd order of 2 pancakes was brought by the manager. Never got a 3rd order - the person manning the cash register brought my bill. Apparently mentioning any concerns is persona non-grata - or perhaps they simply don't want people ordering "all you can eat" pancakes.

What a shithole......they have no ICED TEA and no SAUSAGE.....my eggs are half done and this water is lacking.... Will NEVER Come here again....even the manager talking shit.....wtf

Horrible service. Took us 20 minutes to get our food. Service was crappy. Crying babies everywhere. My side of bacon has two small small pieces on a huge plate. I came here specifically for the pancake puppies and they told me their not Making anymore today. It was 11 in the morning. Don't ever stop here.. Just needed a quick breakfast place and I wish I would have yelped other places first.

Bad food, bad service, slightly dirty. But, the price is right, and sometimes you just need breakfast at midnight. The hostess took over some of our waitresses duties because she was so slow. We tried to tip her, but she have it to the waitress anyway. Nice girl!
(2)Kaitlin M.
The service is slow & the highchairs aren't clean. However, if you want decent service request: The assistant manager & the server Jessica are the two best ppl to ask for for service.
(2)Steve J.
We came in at about 9:15 PM. Placed our order about 9:25. Our food, 2 sandwiches with fries, arrived at 10 PM sharp. There were 6 other customers in the restaurant, so maybe they were backed up. The delay was not the waitress's fault, so I left a decent tip. Hopefully she did not share it with the cook. Sandwiches were quite good. Seasoned fries were tasty, not over-seasoned, and a touch crispy, which I consider excellent. Surprisingly expensive for Denny's, but there was a discount because I was at the Days Inn next door.

I was impressed with this particular dennys. The wait staff was very Curteous and a tentative. Not to mention my avocado bacon cheeseburger wasn't bad.

Recently ate breakfast here.... in the wee hours of the morning sometime after the bars close and dawn arrives.... Hmmm pancakes... 4 bucks... all you can eat the sign says... Great deal.. Sign shows a stack of pancakes as high as Sears Tower (Willis Tower sucks) .... my pancakes arrive and I get three (3) laid across the plate like 3 lifeless sponges... I consume those... Waitress nowhere in sight... I guess their suppose to like fade away in hopes you don't ask for more. Well, finally I did.... "I'd like four (4) more pancakes... We only serve two more at a time... Let me ask the manager!? Many minutes later my four (4) arrive...... ... If you're going to play recession deals with your customers ... You better best come thru with the product, service and a smile.... This place sucks pus in the moonlight..... And it is for this reason I hate most chains... It's just not like a Greek owned 24 hour restaurant.... Avoid this place!
(1)Tim S.
Service sucked as usual. The old hag with a heart of gold waitress was no where to be found. Coffee was burnt.....that was when they actually filled you up. Breakfast skillet was burnt as well. Over easy eggs not cooked enough. Get the point here???????? Stick with pancakes

Dennys is a culture all it's own. It attracts a group of regulars that range from teens to middle 20's and seems to be a favorite of hipsters and trendy wannabes in the wee hours of the morning. The regulars are typically entertaining because they all know one another and act friendly to each other but sit in small groups and gossip about how much of a "poser" everyone else in the place is. It's also fun to listen to the arguments about who comes to Dennys the most or who started coming first like it's some sort of honor. The food is barely edible but again I go here for the midnight coffee and "show". The place is always full of smoke and the smoking section has a ceiling that is always caving in do to water damage for some reason. The waitresses are always rude and seem to be annoyed that they are required to do their jobs. One time a waitress yelled at us for switching tables when she sat us at a booth and told us to switch tables if the rest of our party showed up. I really can't understand their attitudes since they typically complain within ear shot of not getting decent tips, I can't imagine why. Once we somehow ended up with a totally wonderful attentive waitress. I told the manager on my way out how great she was and how impressed I was because the service was typically terrible. I think he thought I was joking. Dennys, a culture to study and behold.
(3)Kyle T.
Well what can I say...Denny's is....Denny's. It's open all night long, so it's the hangout for just about every night owl/traveler. Subsequently, the whole damn place will almost always be full of smoke. They're a bit overpriced for what they are, and if it's just about any reasonable time of the night, there are a plethora of better places than this to go to in Portage for a breakfast-type meal. The staff is generally personable, although one time I went with my cousin and a crazy British lady yelled at us. "Your son threw a penny at me, punish him...PUNISH HIM". Yeah she thought my 14 year old cousin was my son. I was 20. He also hadn't thrown change of any sort. Moral of the story is, if you're starving and it's 3 am and you happen to pass it, I guess you can stop in, but avoid the screaming British lady if you can help it.
