Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

The White Queso Dip is good but came out cold and had to be reheated. The table side guacamole was served with fresh ingredients but lacked flavor. We waited a long time for our food. However, given the local choices Hacienda may be the best Mexican Plymouth has to offer.

Loving Mexican food as I do, my husband and I went here. We recently moved to the area and haven't had good Mexican for a while. The server we had was wonderful! The food on the other had was not worth the money. No flavor! The salsa was mush, the chicken had no seasoning and tasted as if it came out of a can. The ground beef in all items was identical and extremely greasy. We asked for the manager and she didn't seem to think I knew what I was talking about but did take off half the bill as we left our plates over half full. I will never eat there again nor recommend it to anyone. The best advice I have is...Save your money and go to Taco Bell!

The service was subpar. Our server never checked on us after taking our order. We finally asked for the check and a box and she just brought the check. And it wasn't even a busy evening. As far as the food goes, it left a lot to be desired. The burrito I ordered was cold in the center and covered in cheese to give it some kind of flavor. My wife ordered the potato burrito and the potatoes were hard and undercooked. This is by far the worst of the Michiana locations and I've heard the same reviews from the locals. Hopefully they get their act together soon.

I sure do wish they would allow half stars on Yelp. If they did, I wouldn't be in the quandry that I'm in right now. On the one hand, Hacienda is a decent place to eat. It's nicely laid out, reasonably priced and there are lots of good menu choices. This was the fist time I'd been to the Plymouth location, and I got the "Seafood a la Hacienda", Peggy-Hill-sounding name notwithstanding. It was excellent and there was so much of it that I only made it through half. On the other hand, the beans were so salty that I couldn't eat them, not only for the sharp bite, but for fear that my blood pressure would shoot up. The salsa is . . ketchupy? Always. Others love it, but I don't care for it and there is no upgrade to a more chile based salsa available. The awesome chips with that substandard salsa are like a bad marriage--whoever paired those two together needs to exit the matchmaking business, pronto. What to do? Three? Four? I am stuck at 3.5 . . . luckily for Hacienda, the great service bumped it up half a point.

The new Blanco Burrito is wonderful. Filled with roasted red potatoes, mushrooms, rice and smothered in white cheese this entrée is a full meal. I may have found a dish that replaces the fajita as top dog.

The decor of the restaurant is light, airy and a little festive. Chips and salsa get brought out after you order. Since we knew we'd be getting the guacamole, we didn't partake in the salsa which kinda tastes like tomato sauce. The guacamole made fresh at the table is great. Fresh ingredients (nothing canned): avocado, minced onion, jalapeño peppers, lemon or lime, cilantro with a spice blend that includes salt, black pepper and dried oregano. After it's mixed before your eyes, the server will make adjustments to your request. It's something I come back for in particular. My husband always orders a wet burrito and gobbles up the whole thing. This last time I ordered the grouper tacos. I wasn't expecting the fish to be batter fried, but then I remembered I'm in rural Indiana. It tasted good-- it wasn't overcooked or dry. The margaritas are always good and they offer unusual flavors such as pomegranate. The place is solid and the service is good.

Great place. Richard the manager custom making me a vegan burrito. I was going get the Mexican rice but he told me there's butter in it. Nice nice people. Go there!
