Blarney Stone hosts, Everette (Ev) and Jayne Colvin, are the sweetest thing you will encounter here in Plymouth. Lets get the restaurant review out of way. I started with a house Sav Blanc that was perfect for its price point. A bit sweet at the front and closing with a moist bite. Wow, Plymouth, take a page from the Colvin's, there House Sav rawks. Now get this, Blarney has gazpacho on the menu! Yeah, dis is Indiana alright. So I order a bowl with four spoons as my table mates have yet to learn the finer points of the extended pinkie, or 'Barracuda' as it was called by Curly of The Three Stooges. I got 'likes' all around from the field hands. This gazpacho was gooooood, especially with a little pepper. So blame me for the new gen of Foodies. Next up, entree. I had the 6 oz pork chop with mash gravy and veggies. It was grilled perfect. Though I felt that an 8 oz or greater makes a much better presentation for a restaurant. There could have been a more substantial amount if vegetables too, given the time of year. A very solid 3.5 stars from me. My mates had respectively, the same pork chop plate as I, and the salmon, honey-glazed and another with Jack Daniels BBQ sauce. Each of my mates rated the experience with fours. Overall, I'd like to rate a 3.5 for the food but Yelp won't let me. Onward, the conversation I had with Ev and Jayne was delightful. Ev spoke of Blarney as a retirement project that got out of hand. Built in '97, the restaurant has been my favorite meal thus far in Plymouth. Beyond the Blarney, Ev and I spoke of The Great Depression and about how he grew up in Chicago in that time. Delightful. I'm honored and I have a grin. Cheers or Slainte! to Ev and Jayne! When in Plymouth, IN eat at The Blarney Stone! Blessings Danno
