Had not been to a Bob Evans in a very long time. Spur of moment and right next to everything else we had going on. I was pleasantly surprised. Add to that we were the very first patrons for our waitress after training, but Ajna did an amazing job. Very personable and helpful. I had the country fried steak with potatoes and corn. Very tasty, and cooked to perfection. Who can pass up the all too familiar Bob Evans Rolls. Although they are a chain, it's nice to see consistency in food choices and a brand that remains the same. This is located by I70 in Plainfield so it's a great first stop before you take off on your road trip.

Fried mush for breakfast means Im back home again in Indiana!! It couldnt have been better--crispy on the outside and covered with butter and syrup. Pure Perfection! They also serve broasted chicken but we were too early to order it. Whats wrong with chicken for breakfast?? Coffee was very good. Hubby got oatmeal which came with bananas, raisins, brown sugar and milk. Service was great even though they were shorthanded. Now thats what breakfast should be!

Bob Evans has been my goto breakfast favorite for literally years. Every trip I take I am constantly on the lookout for a Bob's to have a wonderful and consistent breakfast! Until now. Liitle things can make or break your perception about a place. The cook at this Bob's needs to go back to McDonalds for remedial training in the basics of cooking. With two trys to cook a breakfast flagship item, eggs, one order having runny whites and the replacement order having solid yolks leads me to believe the dishwasher must be filling in to cook orders. No, improper eggs are not the end of the world, just eating at this Bob's is! When in this area try McDonalds, at least it is consistent.

Horrible service. Yes we were greeted friendly but that was it. I ordered a side and it came without any utensils! Then they just left us there so I couldn't even flag someone down to get utensils. It's taking forever to pay because they're still not back here. It isn't even crowded or anything.

Stopped there last night for dinner. The staff is very young and not trained. Kelsie my server was nice but not very organized. She told me she was bringing fresh rolls 3 times. Never got them. The assistant manager seemed lost. I asked for my detailed receipt which he proceeded to dig thru the garbage can. He eventually printed a new one. They have new broasted chicken that was just ok. 12.99 for 4 pieces of chicken with 2 sides seemed expensive to me.

What's there to say...it's a Bob Evans. Good down-home country cooking' available cheap...and you don't have to do the dishes! My wife got the soup/salad combo and liked it. I usually get the pot roast hash or the sunshine skillet. Both are delicious. I also always get the cinnamon blossom, which is great too! Bottom line: if you're hungry and looking for good cheap food...this is your place!

My mother doesn't like to complain. She also would rather my father and I not either...but like I told her as we were leaving here, if we don't say something, then nothing will change for the better. I know the complaints my dad mentioned were solely about the food (We paid for an extra side of broccoli that hadn't been fully cleaned and prepped before it was served. We ordered two steaks; one well done with only mushrooms, one medium with mushrooms and onions and cheese...the toppings were reversed and the well done steak was so well that it was dry and tough, where as the medium was so under done that I would have considered it more on the rare side.) But if I were to mention one thing it would be: train your servers. We had a sweet girl working with us, but it just seemed like she really didn't know what she was doing. Our questions about the menu were not easily answered, and when we did finally place an order, the speed of things wasn't smooth. (When the family of 6 seated across from us watched our interactions with her before they ordered, they GOT UP AND MOVED out of her section). After having soup and salad for a while, we had to ask for drinks to be brought out. After asking for an extra plate and some steak sauce, she brought the sauce and then asked if there would be anything else. We asked for the plate again. By the time the cold, extra plate came, we had made-do with a bread plate and we felt like we were an inconvenience. I know these sound like little things but those are what makes or breaks a meal. Its not that I think the girl didn't want to do a good job, I just don't think she knew how to prioritize her tables, and think ahead... I don't frequent Bob Evans. I don't live in the area...we were just passing thru looking for a hot meal. It seems like it is hit or miss with these but if I was judging the chain by this one experience, I would be wary to try again.

Good food and service, there are many competitors in this arena and is just a average. Can't see myself being a regular.

Excellent service - we stopped here after 9 hours of driving and the servers here were attentive, friendly, and very sweet to us. Definitely recommend. I worked as a server and prep cook for Bob Evans in the Chicago area during my teens and early twenties and the food brought back fond memories.

I had stopped for fuel on my way home from work, I was eyeing the nearby quick meal offerings. Hubs was away on business, potential bad weather was headed in and I just wanted to get something quick. I spotted Bob Evans' express pick up window and I sounded better than other "window food." I used my phone to see if I could order online and found the Bob Evans app! Value lead me to a family sized meal, knowing that the leftovers would make better lunches than Lean Cuisine! I went for the grilled chicken w/ wildfire bbq sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans. Everything was packed well and came out at the time promised. The woman working the express window was a delight. I unpacked and notice that the bbq sauce was really dark and hot. I think maybe it had been sitting in a warmer too long and had over reduced. It was bitter, burn and just not delicious at all. No big deal, the chicken had plenty of flavor. Everything else was fine and tasted okay. The next day, at work, there was a huge piece of plastic wrap in the mashed potatoes that I had portioned out for the day. Future forays into the mashed potatoes found no foreign objects. I'd probably stop by again in a pinch.

Having attended school in Rio Grande for 4 years, meeting Mr. Bob Evans multiple times and ingesting more country fried steak, hotcakes and rolls (not all at once) than I care to remember, I consider myself somewhat of at least a low-level Bob Evans aficionado. With the meal that I received at this location on Sunday night, Bob Evans would be rolling over in his grave. I fell victim to something I am sometimes known for - expecting the finished product to resemble, even somewhat closely to the photo on the menu. The pork loin sandwich looked to be piled-high and juicy from the photo. What arrived on the plate was half of that in both categories. The bun was regular hamburger bun and it seemed like slices of ham steak from the 1970's. My friend went with a broccoli chicken bowl, which she soon discovered contained still partially frozen broccoli. I guess that answers any questions to the freshness level of the food. The dish itself looked like it was from one of those frozen meal starters from Birdseye. When the waitress returned we notified her that it was still cold. She mentioned the chef was somewhat new and they would fix it quickly. How do you fix it quickly? Microwave - yep, we watched as it went in the microwave and a few minutes later the ding indicating it was complete. Soon we heard a crash and I assumed it was the bowl being shattered, but no, that must have been another incident. A taste of the tea when we were first served revealed a nasty blend that tasted old. I was thirsty so I finished it, thinking the next batch would be better. It was different, but not better. Entirely too sweet this time and still nasty. As the waitress returned with our treasure from the microwave, we commented that the tea was not the best, and asked if we could get a diet coke instead. Then waited nervously hoping nothing graphic was included in the food after two complaints. The positive aspect was the waitress was super nice. She did listen to the issues and try to resolve them, but they were not that good - especially with the number of prior experiences I have had with many different Bob's locations. The other plus was the rolls - good as always, and the waitress brought us each out a second one. For someone who has never tried Bob Evans and stumbled onto this location, I am sorry. I wouldn't base my perception of the restaurant chain and the food on this location.
