High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

Normally the experience at an Applebee's is average or better. Sadly this time we had a disorganized staff. The meals came out in phases, meaning courses split apart from what they went with. Burger first and 5 minutes or so later out came the fries. Perhaps the kitchen staff was new, the serving staff didn't seem bothered with it or even concerned about it upon being asked. A little less attentive to us than normal as we had to get someone's attention for a drink refill. It will be a while before I return. Hopefully they can improve things.

I've had several bad experiences at Applebee's in Plainfield :( food is always cold. Tastes like it was microwaved!!! Never get mozzarella sticks (disgusting) fries are always over salted! If you want Applebee's drive the extra miles and go to Avon.

I love this place. The staff is friendly and upbeat, the food is delicious! We shared the new nachos and quesadillas - amazing. The new menu is really out of the box for Applebee's, and a huge upgrade. Wow. Top it off with a kid-friendly atmosphere for our five year old. We'll definitely be back.

Oh wow, I thought it was only me, I'm always amazed at how the food comes cold to me when it is only like 40 ' from the kitchen to my table. This happens just about every time, cold fries? WTF

This Applebee's is really something.... and not in a good way. I dined here before heading to the airport for lunch. I've dined at my local Applebee's in Orlando, FL and had really great food, but this one was terrible. We started with some spinach and artichoke dip which was probably the best thing I had in that lunch. I ordered the new wedge salad and I could barely eat it because the lettuce had an odd taste to it. I do not know if it was the water they used or if some chemical got into it. Needless to say I just had them take it away. When my sirloin steak came it was almost raw inside. Yes, I did order mine medium rare because I feel like these places tend to overcook sirloins but I did not order it very rare. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because of the way management handled my undercooked steak situation. It was brought back to me and it was still kind of undercooked but I was so full from the mashed potatoes and the dip I couldn't dig into it. At the end the manager told me she was going to take care of the steak for me since it wasn't cooked right and it took a while for them to make me a new one. I didn't even bring up with bad wedge salad... Overall: good service but terrible food quality.

WAY TO DISAPPOINT AGAIN!!! Didn't even make it in to eat this time. Thanks to the ginger douchebag that was rude as hell at the hostess station. I won't tolerate crap like that. If he's supposed to be your "face up front". Then yall don't need my money.

It's hard to find words to describe how awful this place is. We went here sometime last year and our food took a long time to get to us. It was not as expected and way over priced for what we got. We had never planned on going back but for some reason someone gave us a gift card for Christmas. We decided to try it again and we were not pleased. We will not be returning to this, or any Applebees ever again.

The food at this applebees and ALL applebees is terrible It all tastes as though it was taken out of the freezer and microwaved and set on a plate! Overrated and over priced. would choose a quick burger over this restaurant.

I usually never eat at these chain establishments if I can help it. But it was 11pm and we were starving. So we go inside and there were only a few tables here. So much different than in Texas where these places would be packed not to mention they would be open until 2am and not closing at midnight. But anyway on with my review. We got seated and the server went straight to the point, you could tell her goal was to get us in and out. Well Applebee's has always been known for their late night half price apps which is why when i Texas they were so popular. Well now they have downplayed that menu to hardly anything. So we ordered a sampler and swapped out the spinach dip for Queso. Well it was barely room temperature and the bowl was like only 1/4 full. The boneless wings you could tell had been sitting in a heat lamp as they were tough and old tasting. The quesadillia was blah and we asked to add the chicken to it and she told us we could not even though the menu said you could for a dollar. We paid full price for that nastiness. Then we ordered a few of the half priced apps. Onion rings were burnt. Never got the honey mustard I asked for to dip them in. So I suffered through the bbq sauce she did bring. One of my personal favorites has always been the chicken wonton tacos but even those were terrible. We then had decided to have dessert since dinner was so terrible. But of course the server brought our check without asking us did we want any so you know I told her we wanted dessert. So she picked up the check book and asked what we wanted. I always loved the blondie and the maple butter syrup. Came out on the skillet that should have been hot and it was not. They didnt even attempt to microwave my blondie to make it appear as if they attempted to heat. it. We also ordered one of the new pretzel desserts. That they did attempt to microwave and the pretzels were so tough you could not eat them or cut them with a knife. So then comes the check again, any scatter brained server could have realized hey they hardly ate anything that i brought out. Not this chick. Totally clueless, could be that her along with the other 30 staff and non staff members were over at a table by the bar scarfing down everything in sight. Their food was probably better than ours. The final kicker to this amazing experience was she brought the check with the appetizers at FULL price without the discount. So she then took it back and finally came back with the check again and said she just added the employee discount to it which would be the same. Something fishy is going on here. You know I realize that these chains like applebees, chillis, TGIF all get their food frozen off a Sysco truck but come on at least attempt to cook it fresh. That was our garbage chain for the year.

My Dad likes to go to Applebees (he's 93). I've never been a huge fan as a whole but I did like the oriental chicken salad. I went to this local applebee's and ordered it. I remember the salad being HUGE so I ordered a half. Still about $8. The food took 20 minutes to come out even as I was one of three customers. It was tiny, a 9 inch plate about 3/4 covered in a very thin layer of lettuce with a little bit of chicken. No roll, or anything with it.. The service was excellent, but I could have got twice as much and better for the cost at Panera or Noodles and Company down the road.
