All I can say is WOW...I will be a regular here from now on. This is worth the drive if you are a little further away. I had the spinach and mushroom pastries. They are melt in your mouth amazing.

Let me tell you about a pastry place that quenches my savory tooth just as much as my sweet tooth! You hear pastries and immediately imagine a plethora of sweets, but Urban Pastries takes this to a whole new level and immediately changes perspectives. My first experience was with a delectable olive and cheese pastry here, and it still stands as my absolute favorite pastry of possibly all time (and that's saying a lot!) But let me tell the sweet lovers about my second experience... they have an entire chocolate bar covered in pastry dough. Yes you read that right, an ENTIRE CHOCOLATE BAR! The owner recommended heating it up for 10 seconds which unveiled the most gooey, delicious treat I've ever tasted. This place WILL NOT disappoint. To top everything else the ambiance is totally chill and inviting, and the owners are absolutely lovely. They take customer service to a whole new level.

Love this place! The place is so cute and cozy! I am a vegan and they just started featuring these new vegan matcha cookies. They are so good and guilt free. I would suggest urban pastries to anyone!

I just ran an amazing pastry shop hidden away on Hazel Dell. They have the best French crepes that I've had. Not only do they have sweet pastries but they also have a full selection of savory pastries. The owners are extremely nice. They do a special on Thursday nights, they call it French crepe night. I would highly recommend checking this place out. Its difficult to find, but it's worth the effort.
I went in just wanting some free wifi and coffee so I could do some work. But mmm, their pastries. I'm going back. Totally.

Gold star for Urban Pastries! Yes, it's a little tricky to find. It's in between LaHacienda and Pathways. Customer service was incredible! I'm assuming I met the owner. He was thoughtful, pleasant, and passionate about his creations. He gave me the run down on the selection. I love how they offer savory and sweet pastries. I came later in the day, so the selection was limited although I did luck out because he had a batch of chocolate croissants fresh from the oven! Lucky me!! I ordered the chocolate croissant to dine in and took an olive and cheese and spinach pastry as well as strawberry cream cheese croissant to go. I was a bit nervous when he said that the croissant had an entire candy bar inside. Sugar rush! After I let it cool off I dug right in. I have one word...heavenly! The croissant was nice and buttery while the chocolate actually was no overwhelming or insanely sweet as I thought. I enjoyed siting in the cafe. Beautifully decorated with a costal European vibe. Plus it was so inexpensive. The smaller pastries are less than $2. I wished a lived a bit closer because I would definitely hang out here more often. Nice gem in the Noblesville area!

This place is amazing and the gentleman who owns the place lived in the Netherlands for a couple of decades and makes the best sweet and savory pastries in Indy. A true entrepreneur, the store closes at 4 on Saturday and he stayed open til 6 when I was there because customers kept coming in!

I drove in from NYC a couple of days ago to spend sometime in Indiana with my friend, my friend *knowing that I absolutely love bakeries and pastries* referred me to this bakery and I decided to give it a shot, I was not in the least disappointed, by far the best crepes I have tasted not to mention the beautiful interior decor and the friendly personalities of the workers there, I will definitely be coming back here on my next visit.

I am excited to find a bakery with croissants made the way God intended them to be: crunchy on the outside but buttery and soft on the inside, and so flaky that they make a mess of your shirt as you eat them. (Crumbs. Flaky crumbs everywhere.) I ordered a chocolate croissant, which was rich and good. The proportion of chocolate to croissant was spot-on, and the chocolate was gooey and melted inside the warm pastry. When you order coffee, you dispense it yourself from a nifty machine. You put your cup under the spigot, press a button, and it comes out all by itself. The coffee was good. I got my order to go, but I wish I had time to stay a while and enjoy my treat in the bakery, as it looked very cozy and inviting.

Wasn't sure what to expect when I read about savory pastries, but decided to give them a try. I am so glad that I did! The olive and cheese was amazing! The owner was the person behind the counter and she was very friendly and helpful. I had a strawberry and vanilla creme crepe' and it was delicious!!

Wish I could give it a 3.5. Came here on a Saturday morning and there were three of us inside. Tried a open-faced cream cheese pastry and a large cup of coffee. She heated the pastry for me and it was pretty good. As others have said, coffee comes from a machine, and I felt weird about that, but it was certainly fine. I think if I'd had someone with me and we could have tried a variety of pastries, I would have liked it more. Ambiance is cute. I'll be back.

My stomach feels like it is about to explode... Meaning? Review time. I went in this morning at around 10AM I was the only person inside. I saw (who I am guessing from photos is) the owner. He went into the back, without a word, and grabbed another woman. She came out was super nice. I had never been in before, so did my typical bake shop go-to of one of everything. I hail from St. Louis and there we have the joy of having bakeries like Seattle has Starbucks. There were probably three within walking distance and 10+ more within a five minute drive. French bakeries. Regular bakeries. Coffee shop bakeries. Mexican bake shops. Italian bake shops. Anything you could imagine . So my bakery tasting experiences are fairly high. So keep that in mind. I wound up with seven items. Here's what's been tried by me and my tasting crew thus far: Chocolate croissant: flaky. Soft. Buttery notes. But I don't believe the other reviewers who say there's a full bar of chocolate inside... There was only chocolate in the very center of the one I got. Good, but I have had better... Baklava: this was good. A little more honey than I am used to - but truly nice Cinnamon roll - split with someone else. Looked phenomenal, but tasted average at best. Raspberry turnover - my father thought this was the shining star of what I got. I don't like raspberry, so I have no comment We also got some items that have yet to be eaten. But based on those, I would say the friendly lady is what kept this from slipping to 3 stars. I understand how it thrives with great reviews in the area... Lack of options. I have no doubt it probably is a gem in this area, but from a larger vantage point? It's average. Maybe the name made me think the pastries would be more inspired... Or like I said maybe Gatorade macarons and pumpkin mascarpone croissants have raised the bar. Who knows.

Don't mind if I do eat the flaky bits and pieces leftover from my pastry binge found in the folds of my jacket. I wish I could have stayed a little while here in this cozy sweet & savory pastry nook in Noblesville but instead I purchased 7 pastries to-go (around $9) and ate two on my way home...ooops. I was honestly a bit surprised walking into this pastry shop. It may just be me but I haven't found too many unique gems tucked into strip malls on the Northside. So walking into Urban Pastries I was a little blown away and bug eyed drooling over all the freshly baked pastries laid out all over the counters in full view exposing themselves to my hungry eyes to see. I really felt like I was transported out of Nobelsvile and into a pastry shop in another city. So many choices.... thankfully the owners explained all of their delicious creations and I was able to narrow down my selections: chocolate croissant, spinach pastry, olive and cheese pastry, cheese danish, apple turnover, mini chocolate twist, and pizza pastry. The dough is so light and flaky and simply melts in your mouth. The winners for me were the savory selections. I especially loved the spinach pastry & olive and cheese. I would love to get a hold of one of those delights as they are coming fresh out of the oven! Cute little place to stay a little while and enjoy. Apparently every Thursday night they have French Crepes and weekends they offer mini Dutch Pancakes. Perfect little spot to treat yo-self!
Not a great selection of pastries. Next day the pastries were soggy and not edible. Prob won't buy again.

Wonderful gem in crowded plaza. Felt like this should be on a brick street in Prague. Delicious homemade lentil and cabbage soup served with savory puffed pastry. So completely flavorful and light! Great Cuban music playing and the raspberry turnover was the perfect ending. Intrigued by the latte menu, but did not have one. It is a machine and the owner says they are wonderful. Great price also.

I guess I didn't exactly know what to expect. The pastry was fine although I didn't finish it. The coffee comes from a machine, not my favorite. There is wifi but I couldn't connect to the guest or main site, slightly frustrated but that happens. Will I be back? Hmm, probably not. Positives are great atmosphere, super cute and reasonable.

Picked up two sweet pastries after lunch: a vanilla creme roll and a mini pecan pie. The vanilla roll was tasty but a little dense on the dough, perhaps could've used a little more time to proof or bake to improve the rise? The pie was perfect, about 6 bites' worth of sugary pecans on top of a sweet filling, in a buttery flaky crust. I look forward to trying the savory pastries in the future, and want to come back for "crepe night" which apparently is a weekly event. The gentleman working there today was very friendly and helpful. The location is awful ... it's next to the La Hacienda restaurant, on the "far side" of the retail strip in front of the Kroger at 146th and Hazel Dell. You would never see it from the streets or even from Kroger.

Flaky, crunchy, savory. If you can not resist the smell and start eating in the car while your starving family awaits, the crumbs will float all over like snowflakes... Love finding local spots that surprise your taste buds with delightful new combinations of textures and flavors. Largely variations on phyllo dough. Cheese and olives, potato and mushroom flavors call my name while the family prefers the traditional chocolate, apple and pizza (yea, pizza ingredients in a pastry).

Love this place! It's a little bit of a trek from the castleton area but definitely worth it! I LOVE savory pastries. In India most bakeries have savory pastries and in New Zealand even gas stations carry savory pies. I have never seen a place like this in Indy or in the U.S. for that matter. After leaving our 4 month old in daycare, the hubby and I decided we deserved a date day. So we stopped by Urban pastries for some coffee and goodies and caught a movie after. We tried potato, olive and cheese, chocolate and vanilla custard. The potato reminds me so much of the "Indian puff" that you get in India. It was delicious!! I like the fact that it was seasoned and did not taste like mashed potatoes in puff pastry. The olive and cheese has a nice salty taste from the olives. The chocolate was not too sugary sweet - it was perfect. We enjoyed the pastries so much we decided to stick around till the mushroom and spinach that they were baking in the oven got done. We took them to go but the smell was so enticing we devoured it in the parking lot before we could get to the movies!! We will definitely be back WITH friends!

I walked in here today, not knowing what to expect. I'd heard that this place was good but I just hadn't had the chance to try it out. I ordered a cheese Danish and it was definitely one of the best Danishes I have ever had! It was flaky, but it wasn't too flaky! The filling was perfect! I also had a French vanilla cappuccino which was so good and creamy. I will definitely be coming here again!

This place is adorable and the people were so friendly. I'm normally a beer and burgers sort of a guy, but this place was awesome. They do sweet and savory pastries. We tried a few of each. I hadn't had a savory pastry before, so this was a really cool experience. Savory pastries remind me of a quiche or a souffle or something equally as subtle. It was delicious. The sweet pastries were equally as tasty. They were sweet, but not too sweet. The crisp pastries balanced out the flavor of the filling perfectly. I can't wait to check this place out again.

Delicious pastries! First of all, it is an adorable bakery. We looked around and admired all of the choices. And then we ended up walking out with some turnovers, a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon roll. They did not last long (we have the crumbs to prove it) and they were amazing!

Was there late this morning for an omelette and it was flat out fantastic. My wife and I shared it as well as the two small savory pastries ( mushroom and olive & cheese) and we both left full. A shared breakfast THIS good for less than $9 is a real find. The owners are quite friendly as an additional plus.

I stopped here for lunch on a weekday and ordered a cheese pastry and a spinach pastry for me and my eighteen month old. Pastries were flaky and tasty, and I'd say two or three would make a good lunch for one person. I'd like to go back and pick up some of the sweet flavors for breakfast sometime. They had a variety of (bottled) iced teas, juices, and soft drinks available in the cooler next to the register and self-serve coffee if you're dining in. Ambience was nice and quiet, service was friendly. Be advised that there are not really any menu items other than pastries, so don't expect to get a salad or fruit or anything as a side. One other note is that they did not have any high chairs or booster seats (I asked), so if you have little ones, you won't want to dine in.

Yum, yum, yum!!! I had the olives & cheese and spinach - they were both amazing! Perfect place to go when you're looking for sweet AND savory pastries. Crisp, flavorful, friendly staff - winner winner!

surprisingly amazing Its name doesn't do it justice. try the mushroom pastry
I have seen Urban Pastries' sign many times and last night finally had the chance to stop by. They serve enormous crepes on Thursday nights and they were the best I've had in years. As others have said, when you think of pastries you usually think of sweet. While they offer those, they also have savory pastries made with puff pastry. I tried one with olives, cheese and sesame seeds and it was simple and delicious. The quality and variety of the food is what you would expect to find in a little spot tucked away in a city neighborhood. It is what I have been looking for for years. It is the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and sit for a while. I could kick myself for always being in such a hurry that I never stopped to visit. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owners and talking with Vicki, who made our delicious food. They were delightful. Please look at their website to see what we're all talking about. It is a gem of a place and I will be back again soon!

Adorable place on a cute little block in Carmel. I went in to try the macarons and they did not disappoint. Perfectly baked with great flavor. They have a variety of other pastries and coffee as well. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in town!

They have a Nescafé machine, just like those you'll find in European cafés! A real treat and, if you've never had it before, you'll be surprised that a machine could make such great tasting coffee. The pastries are amazing. Try one of everything - it's worth coming back again and again. The ambience is delightful. They have comfortable seating and some unique high tops too. Wifi is available for guests.

Ok, let me start by saying I rarely give 5 stars unless my experience was nothing short of stellar. This is one of those times. Urban Pastries is located off 146th and Hazel Dell. They are really hidden though, so you have to search for them. Not a great location, but they make up for it inside. The owner is one of those people you want to talk to for hours, he's just so personable. I went here for a business meeting and didn't want to leave! The pastries are unique and you've got your choice between savory or sweet depending on your mood that day. I know for a fact that the potato pastry and the chocolate croissant are my faves, but they have so much to choose from that I just simply must go back (the horror!). Had I not had other things to do the rest of the day, I would have wasted away my afternoon there because it's so comfy. The atmosphere is very chill, but also has the feel of a café across the pond. The owners decorated the place themselves and they did an amazing job. Great place for meetings, friends, and families. Carve out some time to spend here although you're more than welcome to grab and go, but you won't get to relish in all the amazingness that is Urban Pastries!

Fantastic pastries and atmosphere. Owners are a great, lovable couple who take pride in their work and food. It's our go to breakfast place on the way to work when we are in a hurry and are never disappointed!

Cozy and delicious. Loved the mushroom, pizza, spinach pastries. Apparently the owner designed all interior, logos and all. Even my 8 month old knows it is good pastry.

Great pastries, both sweet and savory. Dough is incredible as well as the people. I really dig the coffee machine - it makes a nice strong brew.

Went to urban pastries for a first and it was great! I went today and they had yummy crepes today, But they have other awesome pastries and everyone should go try! New matcha cookies that are vegan and just amazing, made by Cassandra Rivas!

This is the real deal. Selection is big enough to satisfy my pastry cravings. The quality is very good and that's all that matters to me. I don't eat a lot of pastries that I haven't made myself, since I'm very conscious what I put into my body, and real food is hard to find here anyways. Main ingredients for good pastries are a plain ole yeast dough or puff pastry which is made with lots of butter, but that makes it so good. Any butter substitute isn't real and just don't taste like puff pastry. So if you like real food, this is the place to get it. The coffee is a self-serve Nescafé machine, but it's not exactly what I prefer. Still better than any coffee you will get anywhere else (excluding Starbucks). Totally worth visiting!
