I was so excited for New Orleans flavor and was utterly disappointed. The shrimp jambalaya special was just canned tomato sauce, large chunks of celery and green pepper (that were still crunchy-obviously not cooked into the sauce) and some tobasco over spaghetti noodles. We don't go out often, and I'm depressed I wasted a birthday dinner out on this meal. We spent $50 on two disappointing meals (my husband got the jerk chicken which was just OK). The venue is adorable and the staff is attentive, but with food like that I can't imagine they will be around long.

Really, really good. The food was excellent and the service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner at The Ville and would highly recommend this restaurant.

I ate lunch at the ville today! I was so excited! They have gotten great press! It's very pretty space! The lunch menu is underwhelming. The server took his time to get to me and that was annoying since there was only 3 tables filled in the place! ordered the Cobb salad it was fine but not for 10.00 dollars it should be more than fine! No bread no nothing! The owner was discussing his lack of business to other guests not good to me! The wife of the owner asked if my food was ok that was a nice touch! I don't think I will be back unless there r changes made!

Noblesville has a new gem! We were encouraged to make the short trek from Indianapolis by master sax player Greg Bacon and boy, am I glad we came. The gumbo was some of the best I've had in the Midwest. My date had the shrimp and sausage pasta entree. There was a enough for two meals. I had the Vol-Au-Vin which was chock full of lobster and shiitake mushrooms. Rich, but oh so good. The owner greeted us and the wait staff was attentive. Overall nice experience.

when here for Mother's Day buffet. Good Service Can't judge the menu items. Buffet food was hot but average.

The decor was nice but the restaurant was dead for a Tuesday night. Just us and one other table. We had a party of 6. Food seemed pricey to me. Example: salmon and potatoes were $26. The steak was $32. By the time the two of us left a tip the bill was $77. I was not expecting that! The salmon was dry and I was not the only o e at the table that had ordered it. The other person thought the same thing. Service was great and attentive.

So excited this restaurant is finally open!! We had dinner at the bar which does have a TV in the room for sports fans!! We had Roasted Chicken, Seafood Bisque and a Spinach Salad. All were fantastic! We will visit this "new" restaurant often! Just beer and wine now, they do have decent wine choices!!

Had a quick app at the bar a while back-- order the "drummies" appetizer. High-end chicken wings and delectable barbecue on the side. Can't wait to go back and try more.

Love the interior of this place! I could spend a bit of time in the bar area if I wasn't there for a work lunch! I had the Logan street sandwich which reminded me of pasties from Michigan. Stuffed with hamburger, onion, and cabbage, it felt like I was eating lunch made by my grandparents. I paired it with the chicken noodle soup and tried the fries too. They were seasoned well and nice and crispy. Our server kept our drinks full and was very pleasant. I love that this place is open for lunch! Such a great alternative to the chain restaurants!

Our dining experience was poor at best. The filet was a poor cut and overcooked. The ceasar salad was drenched in dressing along with soggy lettuce. I agree with other reviews, the price is in line with a Ruth's Chris and falls well short on the quality. I would recommend spending your hard earned money elsewhere.

I've been to the Ville a handful of times, and always had great experiences! At first glance, the menu doesn't seem much different from its peers in Noblesville, but take a closer look and you'll find delicious standards with distinct Cajun/Creole leanings, suggesting that New Orleans has stopped by for a visit. Their salads are absolutely fresh, the tomato basil soup is just what the soul needs on a chilly Indiana day, and their crab cake appetizer rivals those I've enjoyed in the great state of Maryland. The atmosphere is just as great as the food! The rich, chocolatey walls in the main dining areas feature fascinating paintings by a Noblesville artist, while the upstairs guests are surrounded by the art of local elementary school students. The music is a relaxing but upbeat combination of Rat Pack and big band tunes. The service was attentive and gracious - water glasses were never empty and dishes were cleared as soon as they were finished. The owners' gestures of stopping by to visit with their patrons felt more like hosts greeting guests in their home. All were made to feel welcome from seating to dessert! We wish the Ville much success, and will continue to spread the word about Noblesville's newest gem!

I want to give 3.5 stars, but I can't, so 3 it is. In all fairness, I went to the Ville for a Sunday brunch, so I can't speak to the quality of the regular menu. The atmosphere and service are top notch. My main issue was the pricing for the quality of the food was a bit high. I need to get back and try the regular menu, but for the money, I wouldn't go for brunch.

Food: Four of us enjoyed our entrées (filet, chicken Marsala). Liked the mashed potatoes a lot. The bread served was awful. It was hard and tasteless. Tomatoe bisque was good. Seafood bisque had four small shrimp in it and no other seafood. It was very salty and lacked any depth of flavor. Odd texture. Goopy. Service: here's where things were really lacking. Excessive wait times between courses, very little coming back to check on us, wrong soup served and this soup came but no one else's came for quite a while. Had to ask twice for small plates. Water glasses remained unfilled. The worst was at the end when we were never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. The server simply brought the bill and put it down in front of us. Atmosphere: feels like your eating in a bowling alley. Atmosphere doesn't match the prices. Prices: too high based on averageness of the menu, the food quality and poor service. Would really like to see this new spot flourish, but they will need to quickly make numerous changes in food creativity/taste, service, atmosphere and price. I suggest giving all customers comment cards so you can get immediate feedback. Maybe offer a drawing to get a free meal to motivate them to fill them out before they leave.

Food was good. The service was deplorable! Took 1 1/2 hrs to get dinner, got order incomplete, very noisy. Won't go back.

My husband and I went for dinner. We are really hoping this place does well. The concept is great. The location is great, and the menu items offered were great. The service was poor. The waitress actually told us which foods not to order because they weren't good. The environment seems elegant, but the staffing takes that away and changes the whole feeling to less than classy. The ribs were so undercooked, my husband barely could eat them. Seems like they need a new cool as well. Bummer. Not sure we will go back.

My husband and I dined here last night with great expectations. The atmosphere is beautiful, but we were surprised at how empty it was at 6:30 on a Saturday night. I had a great Merlot but was disappointed with the pour, especially since the lady at the next table must've had 2 ounces MORE than my pour (I maybe had 3 ounces) They only had 2 beers on tap, Coors light and Octoberfest. Our waitress said the other 2 taps weren't working. My husband got a bottled New Castle in a frosty mug. Having never been before, the waitress wasn't much help in determining what to order, no description other than what was written on the menu. I ordered the Sea Bass, my husband got the filet. Mine was pretty good; however, he ordered his steak cooked medium and there wasn't any pink at all...WAY overcooked! Although the waitress offered several times to get him another, we had theatre tickets and couldn't wait. The seasoning and cut of meat were good, had it been cooked to the correct temperature. In my opinion, there were too many mashed potatoes with both dishes. With that said, it didn't meet the expectations for a restaurant in that price range, too expensive for what we got. If we are going to spend $110 on a meal, we expect higher caliber.

Only tried it for brunch. WAY over priced for boxed Kroger like pasties. No service until we asked. Not professional or quality food. It will be a long time before we try it again.

Excellent meal! The bread was delicious and obviously handmade. The Caesar salad was very tasty, not too creamy like some other restaurants. I requested a bearnaise sauce with my steak, which I usually do at high quality restaurants. A lot of restaurants say they can't do it, but this one has an actual chef and made one that was very good. I wish they would offer a few sauces on the menu. The atmosphere is very uptown, I will definitely frequent this place from now on. Absolutely recommended.
(5)Gern B.
Not a good experience. Server must have been new but not very personable at all. Noodle soup was liquid salt, tomato bisque was served cold, seafood bisque had three shrimp in it and no sign of scallops, crab, etc. like described in the menu. Salad was served without dressing. Out of five of us one had a meal worth returning for. I hope they get their act together or they won't be around long.

I judge a restaurant by service, quality of food, presentation, and atmosphere, not necessarily in that order. The atmosphere and the quality of seating was exceptional. However, that's where the "best" ends. Our server was less than qualified, based on the fact that she did not know the specials, said that the duck breast (that our dining companion ordered) was not able to be ordered at a certain temperature (he wanted it rare)- but said that it was being prepared at "one" temperature! Furthermore, it seemed the diners at the table next to us (even though we explained we wanted to get to a movie on time), who arrived after we did, were served WAY before we were, and out the door before we were asked about dessert. We had to ask several times for our water glasses to be refilled. At those prices, I would have expected more attentive service. I ordered the specialty (according to the reviews or reports in the Indianapolis Star) - the ribs. The came out SO dry, with a dollop of their "special sauce" spooned over it, it took more than a steak knife to cut them. My wife ordered the pork chop, which came to the table absolutely looking fantastic. The very thick chop was extremely dry, hard to cut, and VERY difficult to chew. Both a waste of money! The caesar salad - what a mediocre presentation, and extremely over priced. The preparation show was great - the chef comes out with a cart and prepares it table side. The end result - several whole leaves of romaine lettuce, drizzled with the table side prepared dressing, and a sprinkling of parmesan. We were very much looking forward to the dining experience, totally disappointed, and will not recommend to friends.

We had the most wonderful evening at the Ville. There were six of us and we all tried a different entree so we could have a taste of several items. Everything was delicious. Our server, Maggie, was informative, friendly and attentive. Two thumbs up!

I had crab cakes an they where excellent. I used to live in Maryland and have missed crab cakes since leaving there. These where a great find.

Stopped by for the first time tonight and was impressed. Seafood bisque and tomato soup were wonderful. The bisque had a surprising little spicy kick to it. Our server suggested the jambalaya, which was like no other I've had north of New Orleans. A little too spicy for me but fine for my partner. It was hearty with big chunks of pepper, celery, andouille sausage and chicken in a thick tomato sauce. The serving was very generous, we could have easily shared one serving. Dessert was a perfect finish with very unique choices. Attentive service but not hovering. Atmosphere was pleasant with art by local artist and New Orleans Jazz playing over the speakers. I'll bet this place would be fun on Mardi Gras.

We ate here on opening night. There were six of us, and we each tried something different. We had scallops, crab cakes, Chilean Sea Bass, a filet, a cheeseburger, and a cobb salad. It was all delicious, perfectly prepared, and the staff was very attentive and joined in our birthday celebrations. This is a welcome addition to Noblesville's downtown, and we will be back.

After the write-up in the Indy Star was excited to try it. I think many people saw the article and the restaurant was packed-glad we had reservations. However, Disappointed, the staff and kitchen were overwhelmed with the number of customers - poor service, cold food, day old bread. Will try it again in about 6 months and hopefully they can correct some of the issues.

We have visited The Ville as a family of four for Sunday brunch and as a couple for a romantic dinner date. Both times we had outstanding food and service! The ribs, Chilean sea bass, tomato bisque, and desserts were delicious! We loved the decor, too. We plan on going back frequently and can't wait to sit in the bar section next time.

Prices at The Ville indicate that it aspires to be a "fine dining" destination. The food is good -- I'll give it that -- but it's going to take an enormous amount of work to turn this into a destination dining experience. Most dispiriting is the physical space itself: every single inch of the restaurant is unattractive. It's not just the fabric scraps covering the harsh overhead neon lights, not even the footed wine buckets or high chairs scattered around the restaurant's edges, and not even the paper signs taped to walls in plastic page protectors. It's also the lack of music, MSNBC blaring from the television at the end of the restaurant, the ugly and uncomfortable banquette seating, the even uglier chairs, the clunky and unstable tables, the lack of tablecloths on said tables, the chunky dishware which was perhaps purchased on close-out at Old Time Pottery, the tacky screen separating the front door from the main dining room, the hideous brown and blue paint on the walls. I know that opening a restaurant is not only risky but crazily expensive, so either the owners cut every corner possible on the decor or they have never been in a "nice" restaurant. The restaurant looks like a place that might serve barbeque or burgers and not the food on The Ville's dinner menu. And that food. It's good. It's also ridiculously overpriced. Almost $40 for a veal chop? For an appetizer, $15 will get you a single tiny crab cake accompanied by limp shredded lettuce and a drizzle of undistinguished remoulade. That being said, the crab cake was pretty good, as was the Caesar salad, laboriously prepared tableside. But there was nothing special about either of them -- or with the rest of the meal. The much-lauded pork chop was . . . a good pork chop. The Chilean sea bass was tasty enough to make me want to sample other seafood on the menu. But neither was prepared in a particularly interesting way or accompanied by a particularly creative sauce or side. And everything comes with whipped potatoes, which just seems lazy (although the potatoes were good). When you're paying around $30 for an entree at a local restaurant, I think you expect a little extra effort from the kitchen to make that entree really shine. Nothing on the menu here is surprising and none of the preparations show a glimmer of creativity. The presentation can be generously called "half-hearted." For dessert, the Reine De Saba is very tasty, but it has the consistency of tar -- it's like a glob of pure chocolate plopped on a plate, the spoon you're given to eat it with barely cutting through the dense "cake." The service was friendly and attentive, although pretty unpolished. The wine list is actually terrible -- that's one of the first things they need to work on if they really want to be considered a fine restaurant. And the food is good! I wish them success in charming downtown Noblesville, but I'm afraid they're going to have to aggressively tweak their concept.

Food was ok. Bread served with the meal was like a cement block. Husband ordered filet med well and it came out rare. I had crab cakes which came with a baked potato that looked like it came from Wendy's. I read about this restaurant and the chef in a local magazine, and I was expecting much better food. Prices are high and atmosphere is blah. No full bar only beer and wine. For the prices I would expect much better and knowledgable servers. These folks were clearly still in high school and could not describe how things were prepared. Also, magazine I read said they had vegetarian options. The only vegetarian option on the menu was a salad.

Our wonderful recent dining experience at the Ville has coaxed this writer out of yelp-review retirement. I'm glad we went with another couple as it afforded me opportunity to taste more of the excellent delectables. The menu is a feast of American tastes. At our table, we devoured the tableside Caesar, the deliciously robust gumbo appetizer, seared scallops, steak Diane, a Jambalaya entree, and the Vol-Au-Vent lobster dish. I won't go into details about the composition of the food. The menu is online at dineattheville dot com. We all were very happy with the food and hospitality. The only thing that the Ville really needs is more customers. This is the best dining experience we've had in Noblesville and anywhere else for quite a while. I would give six stars over five, if possible. The place may be closed on Saturday July 11 as Chef Brooks is serving up food on the square that evening for the Noblesville Street Dance. You can sample his faire also at the Saturday Noblesville Farmers Market. Give the Ville a chance sometime soon. It may not be for absolutely everybody, but it sure did please us.

I went here last week with a group of friends as we like to try a new restaurant every month. The menu had some nice selections on it but instead of having something off the menu, I had one of the specials, steak Diane. The meat was tender and had good flavor. My wife had the salmon. I tried her salmon and it also had good flavor but was a bit dry. The beer selection is very limited with a small handful of craft beers on draft as well as a few different bottles. The interior of the restaurant was nice but there was almost no one there as we were alone most of the evening at our table. I suspect the owner is the chef and everything is made to order by him. There was only one server and she failed to make sure I continued to have enough to drink and check on us periodically. All this would have been an acceptable situation until we received the check for almost $80 (including tip). I had one beer and my wife had water to go along with entrees only. Pretty pricy for the food and service provided.
(2)Dave H.
We loved this place. Service was great and so was the food. Keep it up! My wife had the Vol-au-Vent and I had the crayfish etouffee that was featured. Server was very knowledgeable. We can't wait to go back.
(5)Scott D.
Very good food at a reasonable price. They've only been open a few months so everyone is super nice with outstanding customer service. Hopefully they can keep that up. My steak and mashed potatoes were perfectly prepared. My wife's chicken marsala was the best she's ever had. I definitely recommend The Ville.

Went to the Ville for Sunday Brunch today. It was a family event with my parents, wife, kids, little brother and his family. We couldn't have asked for a better brunch or better service. The staff was extremely helpful, took our coats at the door and were there to please. The brunch buffet was extensive with several pastries, breakfast meats, eggs, omelets to order and fresh fruit. There were also lunch entrees to include prime rib carved to order and desserts. I am looking forward to a chance to go again.

I'm giving this a three. It wasn't bad. It wasn't good. I went in with no expectations of what the place would be. What I wasn't expecting was another pseudo-upscale restaurant in downtown Noblesville, especially when it was replacing what was one of the best casual eateries in town. I'm sure that's not their fault though, so I won't hold it against them. The menu seemed like they were trying to be relatively fancy, but I think it was pretty pedestrian other than a duck galatine appetizer. They had veal and lamb offerings on the menu, so that was nice. There were probably 9 staff working while we were there, 5 of which were at my table at different times, making it somewhat confusing. This isn't bad service just something I noted. I'm sure when they have more business it will be different. I ordered the Chilean sea bass, and I could tell the cut of fish was very good. I didn't really agree with the preparation as it had a ton of sticky sweet sauce on it which overpowered what is a very delicate fish. The sauce may have been fine but there was a cloying amount of it. The dish came with some sides (a slice of baby bok choy, some carrots and daikon radish) that seemed to be seared in a similar sauce. Everything on the plate was sweet, so there wasn't much of a textural or taste blend. It needed some acidity or bitterness, anything. There was also a massive pile of mashed potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the Jambalaya which resembled Jambalaya only in that it contained andouille sausage and shrimp. It looked like thick curry (bright red) but he said it tasted like cacciatore because of the tomato sauce. It didn't resemble anything close to traditional or even fusion Jambalaya. He did say the sausage was very good, but that it was obvious none of the ingredients were cooked together. Beer menu was less than stellar but they did have one Union offering. This may change. Wine was okay and they were pretty stingy on the pour for a 9.00 glass of Ventana Chardonnay which I know to be 11.00 a bottle retail. I don't generally mind markup, but I think they poured me four ounces? Overall the food tasted pretty good, but not at those menu prices. I love sea bass and I order it when I get the chance, but most of the food was just okay. The crabcake was quite good, but a very small portion for 13.00, about a 2 1/2 inch serving. It was probably the only thing I really enjoyed eating. I noted that they need some bottled water as they currently only have Noblsville tap which as most people know is not really quaffable. Notes for the restaurant: Know your fish, don't kill it. You had a great piece of fish and you turned it into a dessert for me. Ease up on the potatoes. If you want to do fancy, we don't have to have Hoosier sized mega portions. This might save food costs too. If you are going to offer Jambalaya, own it. Make it your special. Get a better recipe and cook it all day long, every day. Get a new bread to offer at the beginning of dinner. That bread was actually gross. Earl Grey tea for an iced tea is okay, but make sure you let people know before you serve it. Some people abhor Earl Grey. I'm not one of them. Good job on the crabcake, and the service was really good. --- I'm not generally this picky but for these prices I think I'm allowed to be. If this meal had been about 20.00 less I may have not nitpicked at it as much but I do feel bad for that fish.
