This is an example of wishing I could do 3.5 stars, but alas I can't... so they got rounded up to 4 stars. I came here for a meeting yesterday for the first time. I'm from Noblesville originally, so I love seeing all the new restaurants popping up to add a little variety from the usual chain restaurants. Let me first explain that to me the atmosphere here was a bit stuffy at first. My sister was in the meeting and she had to bring my almost 2 year old niece, and needless to say when we first walked in we were nervous about how un-kid friendly it seemed. But as the young kids say... YOLO! And by the end of the meal my niece had made friends with everyone in the restaurant and they didn't seem annoyed in one bit. Everyone there was a bit older and seemed to be either there for work meetings or retired lunch dates. Either way, it's safe to say I was the youngest person there by probably at least 20 years (aside from my sister and my aforementioned niece). Their lunch menu was decent, and not as expensive as I had anticipated. It was mainly salads and sandwiches, nothing extravagant, and was priced between $5-$9. I went with my old faithful chicken salad croissant sandwich, and it was tasty! Nothing mind blowing, but it was good. We were encouraged to get the hummingbird cake, and I'm glad we did because it was to die for! That cake is what made me round the 3.5 stars to 4. It was moist and delicious. So overall I would say this would be a good place for a work meeting or a date... but I wouldn't go here for a family dinner. Just not quite the atmosphere I'm looking for in terms of "family friendly". And when you do visit The Hamilton Restaurant, don't forget to order the Hummingbird cake... you won't regret it!

Crab cakes salad was very good! The service was lacking, didn't get my coffee until I asked for it with dessert. Their sandwiches at lunch seem very small, nothing like the huge salads! They were very busy for a Tuesday at noon and with only one waitress. Lemon cake was good as was the hummingbird cake. I think they just need to hire more help!

The Hamilton has an atmosphere that is okay, but not overly inviting. I enjoyed the food and service. I wasn't expecting the food to be as good as it was just by judging the restaurant on outward appearances. It's definitely worth eating there.

I've been dining here for years but have neglected to review. This is easily my favorite restaurant. The food is always wonderful with a carefully crafted menu. I enjoy the Wednesday night specials too. The food is masterfully prepared. Service is top notch. Can't say enough good about this restaurant.

Love The Hamilton! Very high quality food, for a good price. Lunch is an especially good option there! Also, don't miss out on their desserts, they're amazing!

We had been thinking of trying The Hamilton in Noblesville, Friday we just wanted to eat out and went to the Hamilton. Great Choice. The wife had the bacon wrapped pork loin which she thought was very good. I had the Seafood Stew and it was extremely good - more seafood than stew. Loaded with shrimp and mussels in a very good broth. Vegetable were nicely cooked, but still crispy, probably the best seafood dish that I've had in years. And there were several more things on the menu that looked interesting that we will try in the future. The restaurant is nice and bright and what one would expect in a small town kind of everyday restaurant run by the owners. The service was excellent. The wine list is kind of basic but good choices at reasonable prices. We will be eating at The Hamilton on a regular basis.

This place was a refreshing change of pace from all the chains. We went on a Saturday night, got right in. Took our 4 year old daughter. We were a little nervous about that because it seems like a nice date night place and we didn't want to screw that up for everyone else! It all worked out fine. They don't have a kid's menu, but are very accommodating, and will make your kid whatever they want. Hubby had the pork and I had the crab cakes. The food was delicious and prepared just right. Salads were just ok, though I did enjoy the bleu cheese dressing. The hummingbird cake was out of this world, as was the chocolate cake. Ambience was nice. Service was at a slower pace than what you might be used to, but that made for a nice time.

I'm glad I live/work near the Hamilton. It's such a great place for lunch. The owner will stop and chat with you and even tell her cake recipes. It's got a great classy vibe and I'm sure it's terrific for dinner if lunch is any indication. Steak and mushroom sandwich - sliced steak isn't made here but it's good. Got the orange mandarin salad. Walnuts cranberry vinaigrette cranberries mixed greens feta. Chicken was fresh and well seasoned Always try the hummingbird cake if it's available.

Food was great. Atmosphere was a little odd. We went there on a Saturday evening and there were only 2 other couples and they were a lot older than us. Felt a little stuffy. We had great service and the crab cakes were amazing! So was the hummingbird cake. Not a place I would choose for a fun night out, but if looking for a good meal and quiet atmosphere, this is the place!

Great! Crab cakes are awesome. More of a family restaurant atmosphere, but food is great.

We met family here for dinner tonight and had a wonderful meal, with great service. Some of the details feel a bit "family restaurant" rather than fine dining, but, you know, that's okay. The food was very well-prepared and flavorful. And I have to give major thanks to our server (whose name I didn't get) for recommending the lamb, which four out of six of us had. Potato-leek soup was tasty without going overboard on the cream base. The non-lambers among us had seafood stew and the tilapia, and both raved about them as well. My guess is that this is an under-visited establishment that delivers some very good food -- provided by a team that was always friendly, often present, and eager to offer suggestions. Well done.

So I am always conflicted on how to address the sorts of things that I personally prefer a restaurant to do, like get local meats or vegetables as much as possible, have not just good but interesting beers available, etc. So maybe I would give them a 4.5, but that is because I am picky. The food at The Hamilton Restaurant is fantastic. It really is well prepared, particularly the desserts which rocked my socks off. I had the Tres Leche cake which was a revelation in banana baking. My pal had what was called a Hummingbird cake, a sort of carrot cake but with pineapple, which was super effin good. The potato cake was a buttery and heavenly affair. It melted in my mouth with just a kiss of carmelization that formed barely enough crust to hold it together. The pumpkin soup was like a puree of pumpkin pie but balanced with spices that reminded me strongly of some sort of curry. The restaurant itself is half a block off the square in Noblesville. It is well decorated with purchasable art on the wall, presumably from local artists, though I didn't inquire. Soft jazz renditions of The Beatles were on the sound system, and it wasn't too loud. Oh, and the lunch prices were under 8 bucks. For things such as crab cake salad, salmon fillet, and several other good sounding options. The waiter was quirky and attentive (what else could you want in service?) and one of the owners conversed with us at length about the food preparation and the business (we asked, it wasn't a complaining festival, either). Go there. Good deals, great food, and locally owned.

I liked the Hamilton Restaurant for being locally owned, for being small and intimate enough for a date or just good conversation, and for being easy to get a reservation for on a Saturday night. I also liked it for the food, for the most part. Our table shared a baked brie appetizer, which was probably the least impressive part of the meal (the brie itself was good but the bread was just so-so), but it got better from there. My nut-crusted tilapia was tasty and crispy, and the vegetables that came with the meal were fresh and well-seasoned. For dessert we split a slice of strawberry cake that I thought was heavenly--moist, creamy, frosted. You never see strawberry cake anywhere anymore. Oh, and almost all the wines by the glass were only five bucks, so, bonus! We would go back, I think, especially if we were already in Noblesville.

I love the hamilton. It is my go to when its a girl's day out. The staff is super friendly, the food is always fresh. If they're really busy it may take a couple extra minutes for the food, but its always worth the wait.

Perfect for a girl's day out -- good food and killah desserts.

Loved it! We looked at the lunch menu first and I was super happy about the prices. $7.50 for shrimp skewers,$6.50 for salmon filet and $2.95 for a nonalcoholic beer! Ate until I was stuffed! The sides were grilled vegetables and potato cake. Both were great! Veggie were al dente and potato cake was super flavorful! I am quite into overindulgence, so when I saw pineapple upside down cake, hot off the presses chocolate peanut butter pie with Rice Krispy treat crust and hummingbird cake (which they are known for!), I said, bring it on! All delicious and the hummingbird cake was moist and light as can be. Very happy and will definitely come back! - Ryan O'Neill

Pretty good food and a great Noblesville location but the inside is so "drab". The Hummingbird cake is the best but I only get it carry out because, again, the atmosphere is "BOARING"

Grilled cheese & tomato soup. Hard to mess up. Well, The Hamilton figured out how! Tomato soup tasted like left over pasta sauce and the grilled cheese was horrible. The staff was sweet.

We had Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin and Seafood Stew both were excellent. The Pork Loin maybe a bit better. The Stew didn't seem to have crab meet and had maybe two types of fish. The salads and service very good. This is another good restaurant that needs recognized.
