We had a reservation for the patio, but when we arrived (on time), we were told they had written down the info wrong, and we didn't actually have a table. The hostess scrambled to get a table ready for us, but it was obvious our party on top of the other tables were too much for our server to handle. Our server seemed a bit scatter-brained all night, at one point we were told the soup of the day was Kale soup, but then told it actually had no Kale in it (?), and when the soup arrived at our table it was actually tortilla soup! I ordered the Shepherd's Platter, one of the few vegetarian items available at night, and was a little disappointed by how small it was (and I'm not a bit eater by any means). Perhaps this was just an off-night for the new restaurant, so I may give Cafe Arazu another try.

It's so exciting to see nightlife come to downtown Newburgh! I've been here for lunch twice and once for late night snacks. I love the vegetarian options. Oddly, you can only get the wraps during lunch hours. The dinner menu is a little limited but everything I've tried I've enjoyed. There is a small outdoor dining area in addition to the two small interior rooms and bar. Service is good. Decor is interesting.

If you live in the area and you have not been here your missing out! Wonderful food, and great location right near the river. I've been many times with friends and family everyone raves about it. Owners are local which is hard to find in the Evansville area, most of the town is chains, so support there amazing restaurant.

Love this place, quality is superb! Penny makes the best middle east and Mediterranean food! Also her desserts are freshly made. This is a dining experience. It takes time for quality so enjoy the ambiance! Don't be in a hurry!!

Have been half a dozen times or so. The food has been from good to really good. Once or twice we ended up with a scattered brain waitress but all other times the service has been great. We enjoy sitting at the bar and having appetizers also. Great place and a much needed addition to downtown Newburgh

Ate there recently for the first time. The food was excellent. The service was great and the atmosphere on the patio was outstanding! The lamb chops were outstanding as well as steak kabobs. The tort for dessert was excellent! Look forward to going back.

Awesome food - poor service. Charming atmosphere, definitely worth visiting if you have ANY interest in authentic greek/Persian/Mediterranean cuisine. Very small and you MUST get a reservation!

I don't know why it took me so long to try this place. This is by far the best patio dining experience I've had since moving to Evansville. Sitting outside at this cafe is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon or evening. I ordered the lamb kabob. I was surprised to see 3pieces of rack of lamb on my plate, which were delicious. The rice of the day was well seasoned also. We tried the bruschetta for an appetizer, it tasted fresh and the tomatoes were nice and sweet. I had zero complaints about the meal. Throw extremely reasonable prices on top of it and you have a winner.

My wife and i ate dinner here and were greatly disappointed. Problems began from the moment we tried to oder our appetizers. I ordered the falafel platter but was told they were out of the falafel...imagine that, a mediterranean restaurant that runs out of falafel!!. I then ordered their Arazu Shrimp as a substitute, and it tasted like crap! It did not even look or taste like shrimp. For our main course, I had the dinner special, which was was supposed to be a pan seared halibut with dill rice, and my wife had the shrimp couscous. The halibut was pan fried in a thick Parmesan coating that totally ruined a beautiful tasting fish, and they served it over plain white rice instead of the dill rice. I had better tasting fish from Long John Silvers,!! After my wife saw what they served me, she offered to share her shrimp dish with me!! My wife said that she enjoyed her dish; however, it wasn't off the chart. Dessert was also a challenge. When our waitress told us that she would bring a tray of desserts, we were expecting a tray with 5-6 of the listed desserts on the menu. Instead, she came back with a small tray with only 3 deserts. She stated that they were out of the Snickers Sundae, but she also did not bring out the Baklava or the pineapple carrot cake. When we decided to share the cheesecake, the waitress took the plate right off the tray and placed it on the table rather than bring us a fresh slice of cheesecake. I am not kidding, the waitress used that same slice of demo/sampler cheesecake as the same piece she served us right off the tray, which was a bit disgusting as my wife and I commented that it was probably brought out previously to show other diners the dessert tray. Not sure about you, but I do not like to be served the same piece of dessert that was used as demo/sampler to other diners who breathed on it...by the way, what did the waitress do with the other two slices of dessert that we did not choose...did she return it to the cooler to show/demonstrate to other diners after we breathed on them? I'm sure the health board would not be happy with that.. Overall, they have a decent wine list , and the view over looking the river is very nice, but this is not a restaurant that i would return to nor would I rave about it. This was my second visit to this restaurant, and it will be my last as there are better options for dinner.

We got there close to closing time but they were still serving so we were very lucky! We had the hummus platter but we subbed the Chipotle hummus for some extra regular hummus and the rest of the platter was good. I think the pita would've been better if it was toasted or grilled like they do at some other places, but it was still warm and good. My boyfriend got the gyro platter, he said the meat was good, and he liked the creamy Chipotle sauce they gave for dipping the potatoes (I tried it and I agree) but they overdid it on the side items (too much on the plate), but the plate was loaded otherwise as well so, meh. I had the Tandoori Butter Chicken, which was a reasonable portion for the price and it was FANTASTIC tasting! We got two desserts, baklava, which if I hadn't just had better elsewhere I would think it was really good (it was a bit dribbly and soggy but otherwise okay), and apple snickerdoodle cheesecake, which was amazing. Our server was so friendly and amazing we tipped her well.
