Mr. J And Mrs. J.
Mr. J and I recently discovered this restaurant in Southern Indiana. I must say I'm already hooked on their dishes. My favorite was the Pad Thai dish with level 3 hotness. It is my new fav! I love that they grow most of their vegetables and chili peppers that they use in their dishes. The sweet tea is a must;) Every dish our family ordered was delicious. We will be back and very soon. ~Mrs. J

This place is a Thai food juggernaut. Every menu item I've tried has been 5/5. The smooth jazz elevator music CD played on repeat sets the mood just right to open your tastebuds up for the upcoming mastication. Massuma curry and Pad Thai are as good as they come. Also the Thai tea is the best you'll ever have. The heat level runs from 1-3. Beware of level 3. It's not bad going in but later you will pay. The lady that runs the place is such a sweetheart too. She runs the front and the husband runs the back. It seems they're the only 2 that work here. Service can take a few minutes when it gets busy, but be patient. It's worth it.

Drove past this place countless amount of times.. Was told by that he thought it was best restaurant in New Albany so I gave it a shot. Wow! Best Pad Thai I've ever had and it's not even close.

I don't usually go outside of my box when eating Thai. I ALWAYS order chicken fried rice with a spice level of zero. The menu at this place was quite limited compared to other Thai restaurants I have been to and didn't even have chicken fried rice. Instead, I ordered the Black Peppercorn Beef. It was alright but nothing I would rave about. A little on the salty side. I gave this restaurant three stars because of its limited menu and so so food.

This is one of my favorite places in Southern Indiana. The food is excellent. I have loved every single dish that I have tried! I love that it is made from scratch with organic ingredients. The lady that works there with her husband is so sweet! It is so nice to have an authentic Thai restaurant on this side of the river!

Great food and always great service from Emily. Lots of healthy options and a great place to dine in or carry out! Btw, level 5 is pretty hot (love spicy food), so you may want to sample it before ordering.

Food - Excellent overall and wonderful spices. Service - Great Service / Kind , Knowledgeable! Waitress Explained Menu and Ingredients made us feel at home. Plating - Beautiful Plating. Portion Size - Portions could be larger. Cleanliness - Very Very Clean. 5/5 Atmosphere - Quiet , Soothing Environment with Tai Decor. Prices - Most meals are in the $10 range but overall worth the price. Favorite Things - Definitely try the spring rolls with chili oil dipping sauce they come with.

This restaurant serves delicious, authentic Thai food. We started with an order of egg rolls. They are made from scratch and the flaky pastry melts in your mouth. The Pad Thai with chicken was flavorful and slightly spicy (we asked that our dishes be prepared with only a "mild" level of heat; they will fix them however you want). We also had Pahd See Eew with chicken. It was richly flavored and contained large flat noodles with broccoli, almost like a pasta. We highly recommend both of the entrees we had. The decor of the restaurant is fresh and charming, with some lovely Thai wall-hangings. Our server was helpful and charming, too. All in all, a fun place to eat!

Very authentic Thai food. This restaurant will make it hot and spicy. I love spicy food, but their 3 hot is about as much as I can do and still appreciate. The pad Thai is great, the soups are fantastic. It's pretty basic in terms of ambiance or service (sometimes if they get busy you will wait for your check), but overall the best Thai restaurant around. Go for the food, not the experience.

Lured by a $5.99 lunch special, I decided to give Tan Thai a try. The restaurant was clean and orderly with hanging banners (tasteful, not the beer kind) dividing the open area into more intimate sections. The service was attentive, quick and friendly. My lunch special was a bit on the small side, but good nonetheless. They have a spiciness scale that goes from 1 (mild) to 5 (you may need to replace digestive parts). Apparently I don't look like I can handle spice so our server recommended a 2. I would probably go with a 3 or 4 next time since I could barely taste any heat.

I love their Pad Thai with no peanuts. A Pad Thai with peanuts are so Americanized Thai food. Just like they don't have egg foo young in China. It is an authentic Thai restaurant in New Albany. I love their Thai tea as well.

Hands down my favorite Thai place in the area. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. Spice level goes from 1-5; I usually hit between a 3 and 4. Seasoning is for the most part consistent, though I did get a level 4 that almost destroyed my mouth once. I highly recommend the Gang Kae Wan (red curry with chicken) - I've been trying to replicate their recipe for years but can never get my broth to be as flavorful as theirs is. The lunch specials are great and come with smaller portions and a spring roll, and dinner portions are filling and still come in at under $10 with a drink. They also put their take-out orders together really quickly, which makes it really easy to run out and get good food on a lunch break. Just overall great service, hot and delicious comfort food!

This place, other than their strip mall ambiance, is awesome. The food is always delicious. Not only that but they will actually make your thai dishes HOT. Which I find a rare thing.

Everything I had was freshly made and HOT when it came out! :) I had some spring rolls and LARB? I think that's what it is called (with chicken) and I had a spice level of 3 (my waitress told me it can get VERY SPICY) 5 is the highest. I ended up loving it but she gave me a level 4 to try and as a person who LOVES hot food it was AMAZING! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful! I will for sure go back! :)

The food we had (basil chicken & green beans and veggie pad see maw) was okay , if greasy & a bit less flavorful than Thai food I've had elsewhere. However, the next day after eating it, my mom & I both felt really bad. I don't know if it was food poisoning or too much grease, but either way I don't think I will be returning there.

We recently moved to this area from Chicago where we had Thai 2-3x/week. First time visit to Tan Thai this evening in a group of four. We all thought it was delicious!!!! Great service. If this place was on Bardstown or Frankfort it would be hard to get a seat.
