An 1850's judge's house. The room and the wonderful four poster bed were so cozy and beautiful. We stayed for three wonderful nights for -- next to nothing, it was so cheap. The woman who owns the place (we only spoke on the phone -- there's one in the hallway, and local calls are free) is a bona fide character. Breakfast only consists of muffins, apples and bananas, so we opted to head out of town to Brownie's a few mile north in Bean Blossom -- because, while people in Nashville are genuinely nice and extremely helpful, the businesses in the downtown district are grotesquely cutesy, and it didn't seem like we were going to get any good food there. I truly look forward to staying at Hester House again, not because there's much I want to do in Nashville itself, but because it's a wonderful place to come home to after exploring the wonders of Brown County State Park and the wondrous rolling hills beyond.
