What is not to love! Was in the Saturday before Easter and was filled with a wait for tables. Sat at the bar and was served by Melvina. Absolutely wonderful service. Not just good for the busy time or the region but honest to goodness wonderful service. Had the calamari, very good and sausage and cheese pizza. Pizza was every bit as good as my memory of John's pizza! Nice size bar with dining area and family friendly! I love locally owned places and great service - thank you!

Everyone usually gets the crumbled sausage topping here. Like most meat toppings, that can be hit or miss, but here it's a bit of a miss. The crumbled sausage at Langel's and Barton's is simply more flavorful. They DO load the pizza up here, but instead of getting a complex italian sausage flavor, more of a roasted pork flavor comes through. Definitely an acquired taste. Best thing they do here is biiig pizza slices for three bucks each. Usually just sausage or plain cheese, but the cheese is delightful.

The angles cry, as you devour their garlic bread! Their garlic bread is the bread- piping hot. Their pizza pretty good, and my hubby loves their Angel hair pasta. Ah again my minds goes for the garlic bread-looking forward to trying their new dining room. We ate the original location, just before they closed, and we cursed ourselves for not knowing about this jewel sooner. Their Nona pot roast is a nice sandwich, which most places do not offer.

Went to the John's in Munster on our way to Chicago in early July. Every time I start to think that I am over rating this place, they prove me wrong. If they offered a sixth star, I would give it to John's. Outstanding. Only problem is, it ruined the Chicago trip. Four days downtown, knowing for sure that the pizza on day one would be superior to anything else we would eat for the rest of the trip! ;)

Great pizza. It is expensive and that is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

This is the best takeout pizza in a neighborhood with lots of pizza options. Bubbly crust, real cheese, excellent sauce. It's our Friday night pizza almost every week. Johns has unique crumbled sausage, and it's an acquired taste but once acquired, you'll accept no substitute. We typically get half and half. Pineapple, Canadian bacon, and onion Hawaiian style, half crumbled sausage. It's the best.

By far the best pizza I have ever had. Warning: If you get the sausage make sure you have a towel nearby as it is deliciously greasy.

Ya ya, I know everyone is a know it all when it comes to pizza. But I have to say. It sucks. The Crumbled sausage looks gross and is even worse to eat. Looks like road kill. And the johns in dyer is way better. Get ur shit together. Cuz this shit sucks. And u haters get some real pizza because ur obviously missing out. Odoyle RULES. And or beggars. Hey. And state line is even worse. So there ya go johns. U may not be the worse.

This is a 4.5 star pizza but is a 3 star restaurant. The restaurant has a great pizza but the service is really spotty. I just think if they need to improve there service and how they respond to customer complaints. One thing to know is this is the ORGINAL JOHN'S PIZZERIA. There is another John's Pizza in the are that has crumbled sausage but is not as good.

Love John's pizza!! You must order the sausage-it's crumbly and delicious and always everyone's favorite! Sooo good, I always look forward to a visit to Munster that involves John's!

I suppose everyone has different tastes, but I love John's Pizzeria. I even followed the store from Calumet City. I love the thin crust with the crumbly sausage. I like the texture of the pizza as well. So delicious! I've been eating there for over 20 years I imagine. It's so delicious!

In my opinion, Johns pizza is gross. Super greasy. I can usually only tolerate one piece (and that's after I sop up the standing grease on top with a napkin). The sauce is ok. Not great, not terrible. The sausage is good if you like sausage I'm told. The crust is what gets me. It should at least hold the weight of the toppings. This crust is like nothing I've ever seen. Its soft and chewy and uncomfortably floppy. You can't even pull a piece out of the box without everything falling off of it and falling apart. You definitely can't hold a piece in your hand and eat it. It's a fork and knife deal, which is ok if we're talking about stuffed pizza, but thin crust? If I'd only had it once, I'd think it was a mistake and maybe they didn't cook it long enough but I've had it enough to know that's how they choose to serve it. Their lake perch, however, is just about the best I've had. I would absolutely recommend that.

The best pizza! First of all they maintained the same consistent quality since their cal city days going years back. It's really not that expensive. I ordered a medium sausage, green pepper and mushroom pizza. It was $21. Four adults ate it. It's a fork and knife pizza- very filling. I think people think it's expensive because cheap pizzas are not filling so you order a large or x-large and keep eating it trying to get satisfied. At john's you are satisfied in every bite. I only eat or order sausage pizza form Johns they do it the best.

John's pizza might be the best I've ever had. The sauce is bursting with flavor, the crust is thin with the perfect amount of chewyness. I'm normally not a toppings kind of guy, but their sausage is the best topping I've ever had. The region knows pizza, and John's is king.

several different attempts to like this place but its just not in the cards. Plenty of pizza places in the area to try and Johns is average. Only beating out the Chicago style folks because I like thin more than thick pies. the toppings here range from tasteless to greasy and its just basicly over priced pizza from the place on the corner. if your right there and you need to order from them do so but don't say you were not warned!

Love their pizza. Old fashioned and reminds me of a college pizza joint when I was at IU in Bloomington.

Hands down the best pizza in this area. Their other menu items are equally as good. And their jarred sauce tastes homemade. You may pay a little more, but for the quality, it's more than worth it.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
