Stopped by the other day because my usual dog house down the street ran out of parking spaces. Arnie's was exceptionally clean inside and the staff was friendly and helpful. I was going to have a Vienna red hot, but noticed they had loose meat hamburgers. Remembering the Lanford Lunchbox from Roseanne, I had to give it a try and it really was tasty. They piled the loose hamburger meat on a sesame seed bun. I had it with ketchup and mustard. It had some good seasoning on it and unlike a regular burger, it wasn't greasy at all. My only criticisms would be the meat was a little salty and the fries lacked character. I would still go back, though.

I love this place. Their dogs are excellent (and sold only with fries included) and the whole building is very branded in customized art. The characters are murals and cartoon characters created by Arnie's Dog House. Special Note: Don't forget to try their pizza puffs. They are not like hot pockets. They are way better.

A 2 chili dog combo for 9 dollars? Not for me!

Chicago style dog was okay. The dog could have been bigger. 11 yr old had shrimp basket and she like it. The Maxwell Polish was not what I expected. I wished it was better with all the new commercialized restaurants that popped up. Would like the local restaurants to do better.

It is hot and it is a dog. The fries are okay. My hubby worships this place for years. Their special to celebrate hotdog day was nice.

Arnie's Dog House in Munster is the worst place to eat on the planet. They will try to tow your vehicle and scam you out of money. Really. This is the only restaurant I know of that tries to make more money in the parking lot than in the restaurant. The management bullies customers. WARNING: DO NOT EAT HERE!

We needed a quick snack and thought this place has been around forever so it must be decent. Wrong! When you are within 20 miles of the City of Chicago and request "everything" on a hot dog it should come with mustard, sweet pickle relish, onion, tomato, a dill pickle spear, sport peppers, and a dash of celery salt. We got mustard onion relish and a sad sport pepper. Definitely not up to snuff. I don't think the hot dogs we ordered were All Beef either. The fries were underdone. When customers come to the drive in window its not that hard to say Hello instead of grunting.

Haven't had food from here in a long time, so i was excited to be working nearby. Ordered a sausage/beef combo, a polish sausage and a hot dog. The prices were high, the combo was almost $10. The polush and dog were supposed to be Vienna, but I don't think they were. Vienna has a snap when you bite into it, these were soft and rubbery. With so many other hotdig stands nearby why would I ever return.

Let me start by saying that I love hot dogs and I have had my share of bad ones, but not at Arnies. This was my first and possibly only visit as I am on vacation in the area. I enjoyed my chili cheese dog and my loaded fries. The dog was good but the fries gave me LIFE. The loaded fries were covered in delicious melted cheese, ranch dressing and bacon crumbs. One word, yummy. If I am in the area again I will definitely stop in for a dog.

Great place, drive through and plenty of parking. Thankfully not part of the chaos next door in the mini mall/ panera area.

It appears to me that none of the reviewers have ever eaten a REAL CHICAGO HOT DOG. Arnies dose not even come close. There are a few places that have rel hot dogs and Arnies is not one of them. Hey Arnie where is the bright green relish, celery salt and of course the poppyseed bun. I would think about going back. The place should be shut down for a week and cleaned. While cleaning they should put in a grill. Loose Hamburgers SUCK.

These hot dogs are GREAT. I prefer to eat those dogs PLAIN. That's right...plain! They are so juicy and tastey, I don't want to disrepect these beef franks with just simple condiments like ketchup or even mustard. Now with Grey Poupon or some other high grade deli mustard, that would be PERFECT. This is definetly where "Dog Bites Man".

Sometimes when I'm home I REALLY, REALLY want cheese fries with a chili cheese hotdog. This place never fails to disappoint.

I hate to give bad reviews to small business because I love to shop small but these guys are terrible. The hotdogs are meh, more like kiddie dogs. Everything else is just drowning in grease. I've been there twice in the past year just out of convenience and both times they messed up my order and what I did get was far from appetizing. Decor is old and dirty and it's obvious they're hurting because they nickel and dime everything. Funny what another post said about having to steal the napkins being held hostage behind the counter, true! What did it for me was witnessing someone (I'm guessing the owner?) from Arnie's start somewhat of an altercation over some cars from the restaurant next door parking in 'their' lot. The guy was very hostile and a downright jerk. Over a couple parking spots? Jeez! The photo of the parking sign couldn't sum this place up better! Aside from not being a fan of supporting jerks or bullies, honestly I've had better dogs with fresher ingredients at the concession stand of the little league down the street so bottom line, I won't be back.

I love their hot dogs...good place to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch.

Arnie's has great hot dogs, the pizza puffs are good, and love the fries. Wish they had burgers, whoever thought of loose meat...should be shot. If Arnie's added a good burger, the place would get 5 stars. Also to note...TY for keeping the prices real! Not trying to rip people off like Panera Bread or 5 Guys right next store. Those franchise places just suck, over priced food that's not worth money...at least Arnie's fills your belly and you still have change in your pocket.

I was in a hurry and this place was an ok joint 10 years ago. That's a long time to carry a torch. As I waited for the lady to finish with the drive thru, another one was on the phone and the third was actually working. The number 3 was a beef, fries and a Pepsi. The sweet pepper mysteriously turned into a jalapeno pepper? The beef was dry, the fries were greasy and the soda was the best part of the meal. No one was given napkins that they have behind the partition next to the register, so you had reach over like you are trying to steal something to get one. It was dirty inside and No! I will not be back.

The hot dogs are fine. The beef...is only so-so. The problem with Arnie's is that the cleanliness of the place detracts from the food. If the food was exceptional there then the dirtiness of the joint might not be as much of a detractor. Better hot dogs found at Bozo or Portillos.

This place is your classic hot dog stand. Order up at the counter. Sit down in their dank dining area. Eat it and beat it. Food is straightforward and you know what you'll get before you even walk in the door. They don't disappoint. Don't even think about healthy choices. It ain't happenin'

Grew up with the one in Whiting and the Munster location is just as great - just without the cool, grit of the Whiting location. Great dogs, polish and fries - never tried anything else...and why would you since it's a Hot Dog place?? :-)
