The absolutely best sweet potato fries I have ever had. Some menu items are expensive, but the portion sizes seem to be pretty large.

I ordered a carry out. Wings had hardly any sauce on them. Ordered the dirt cup dessert which were missing the gummy worms. The featured berry salad came with 3 or 4 blueberries and not much else. I was very disappointed in the overall quality of the food.

Eating here is bizarre. This Scotty's location serves beer only, no liquor. Despite this, the menus list daily drink specials and cocktails... WHY would you advertise things you are unwilling to sell?! That's silly. The waitress explained this is the first location and the owner wants to keep it "family friendly". Sure, OK. Then why is this location in the "village" -- where Ball State undergrads go to party? Scotty's obviously is a college bar... Meanwhile, the newly opened Brothers up the street is always full and willing to make drinks their menus advertise. Wonder how long this Scotty's will continue to only sell beer! Severs are always great, food is always underwhelming. Won't be back.

Great burgers, good service, great place to watch a football game. Close to ball state campus and recently remodeled. Parking can be difficult if it's a busy night but worth walking A block or two. Excellent prices and large servings. Grab a growler Tuesdays and Saturdays carryout 64 Oz of fresh brewed beer.

Oh how to rate this? This is a bar that serves beer and wine and sandwiches, mostly burgers. To be honest, the food is a bit overpriced (particularly for Muncie) and is of variable quality. They do, however, have a good beer selection. Of course, it is a mystery why restaurants with really high quality food have not arisen in the Village. The big saving grace is the quality of the waitresses and bartenders. They are all top notch!

It might have been the late hour... Or long speeches preceding it... But the local- pastured burger on a twisted pretzel bun piled with thin onion rings and accompanied by 3WiseMen Blackberry Wheat special made my day. Good job adjusting the ancient idea of burger to the foodie/Yelp crowd! Just give us exotic options, such as bison, local pasture or veggie and then throw in the Fun Bun and topping options and we will write happy reviews... Open and light-filled concept that many new brew houses are adopting. Plenty of screens to keep guys happy. The service was just a touch slow, which could have been the problem only because we were trying to get back on the road vs. enjoy a lazy evening and fine weather. Looked a clear winner for dining close to Ball State campus.

Scotty's. Good burgers. Good apps. Decent prices. Beer selection is negligible, the local 3wisemens is a slightly above average brewery. You're not going to get anything of great quality. They currently have a centennial martyr double IPA. It's a destitute man's version of the Founders Centennial IPA. Generally, a good place to eat with decent beer. However, if you really want a beer, get a tetanus shot and go drop a couple bucks at the Heorot.

Service? What is customer service? Not something you would find here. After being seated with no menus, food or drink, I managed to wrangle a beer menu from another customer-ten minutes into be seated and not greeted by our waiter. He came and asked for our drinks, I asked if we could have food menus, he was very caught of guard that we didn't have any. After ordering our beer he came back to take our food order- beer had yet to be delivered-ten more minutes passed. Beer then finally arrived. 35min later our waiter came to apologize for the delay with our food. 35 minutes for any more contact? Not once did he come back to check on our drinks or anything. The manager came to apologize eventually and offered us a free desert- which was a kind gesture I suppose- but I'd rather them comp by beer than have a piece of free boxed cake. Overall- the food and beer were good- one star for each- and negative three stairs for horrible service. Please learn how to keep your customers happy the first time. After reading other reviews- seems to me that lack of service is quite the trend. **EDIT** Ten days since the manager Bruce has reviewed my email address to pass along to the GM in regards to my horrible experience and I have yet to receive any further communication! Who's slower at communication? The servers or the GM?

Stopped in for the week in Muncie. Went down towards the college and saw Scotty's. Decided to give it a try. The bartender recommended that I get the burger with the peanut butter and jalapeños. I couldn't pull the trigger. Instead I got a juicy lucy, which was really good. I got some of the local beer too, a double IPA. Really enjoyed it too. I've only been here once, but I'm going to stop by again before I leave. Great food, beer, atmosphere and service on my first time there. Definitely recommended so far

I've been to this location dozens of times while attending BSU and this past weekend was the first time I've been back since graduating in 2012. I used to love coming here but it seems that the quality as went down significantly. We ordered the new poutine which was more like melted cheese and fries; traditional poutine calls for cheese curds and gravy. It took more than 20 minutes to get our appetizer. We later ordered our entrees and it took over 30 minutes to get our food and the restaurant was half empty. Our food came out cold, my husband's Schumann Burger had no peanut butter and my buffalo wrap had no buffalo sauce. To top it all off, our server Eli, refused to split the check as I requested because someone else in our party wanted to pay for ours and said he was going listen to them because they were "older" than me. Scotty's used to be the place to eat in the village but apparently that has changed. I'll check out Brother's next time I'm in Muncie instead.

This us MY ALL time fave place to go when I visit Muncie from Chicago. For 3 years I have had countless meals and never have had a bad one. Staff us always friendly and efficient. Bryce is one of the best managers and is constantly checking on the customers. He always recognizes me and makes me feel welcome. The Peanut Thai Chicken wings are the best but so are the burgers and the Black and Blue Salad. I've had the breaded tenderloin and it is definitely Indiana quality! Soups are also a great choice along with 3 Wiseman chips. Good selection of beer but I'm more of a wine drinker so was glad when they added several choices! I am happy! I've been to locations in Indy and Mishawaka. While all are good this one I feel at home in. Recent servers get my kudos Zack, Ally and Taylor you rock.

Typically a fan of this place, but stay away from the fish and chips. Below average. When I asked about malt vinegar they said no we only have red wine vinegar. Maybe my mistake for going away from a burger, but learn from my mistake and don't order the fish and chips.

This is a cool looking place that is part of the rapidly changing village area in Muncie. First impressions are good enough. Service was fine, neither great nor bad. I am perfectly fine with that and really don't factor in service into my rating of the restaurant unless really go the extra mile or if it is horrible. So the service is fine. What's important is the food. I built my own burger. I got the bison (medium rare) with swiss and shrooms. The meat itself had a good taste, but I felt like it could have been better if the outside of the burger wasn't cooked more than a medium rare burger should be. I know that bison is leaner, so that may have played into it, but it was a little burnt for my liking. The inside was a nice bloody center. I feel like the really skimped on the mushrooms. There were maybe three or four sliced mushrooms on the burger. Way to few. For my side, I upgraded to the mac and cheese like a gentleman. It was ok, nothing special, a little bland. I was hoping for a little more flavor from the mac and cheese seeing as this is a gourmet burger place, so they should put a little more effort into making the sides special. I tried the sweet potato fries that my friend ordered. They seemed pretty good for sweet potato fries, but I don't typically like sweet potato fries that much. Price wise it wasn't terrible, but its a little more money than the food was worth, although I appreciate the ability to order a bison burger. Kudos for that. This particular time, I did not partake in the alcohol, but have before and they should be commended for their selection of beers. I don't typically like to drink while I eat, so that doesn't play much of a factor in my ranking of a restaurant. I would come back, considering the limited options in Muncie, but it's certainly not worth driving a long distance for.

One of the better local, casual pubs to meet folks, watch a game or just do lunch. Extensive menu and they rely heavily on social networking for marketing, so be sure to check out their facebook, twitter or foursquare presence.

I have been here a handful of times and the food is always wonderful. The wait for your food, however, can be painful, even when they seem slow. I have an hour for lunch and there are been times when I was afraid that I wasn't going to make it back in time. It's kinda spendy for children though. $6-$7 for a kids meal is kinda high for me. But the food is really good, the restaurant is very clean and I have never had bad service.

Came here and walked in needing a seating for six. There were A LOT of open tables, including tables that sat six. The hostess approached us and without asking stated it will be AT LEAST. An hour and a half wait because the kitchen was "behind". I asked about the open tables and if we could sit and drink until the kitchen was caught up. She told us know and that there was no room in the bar. How does a restaurant stay open like this? She pretty much turned us away and denied us business. What an extremely bad way to run a business.!

Scotty's ! Where to begin. It is located in the village which is perfect. I used to walk here with my roommate and meet up with friends for half price apps and pitchers of blue moons. The food is kinda pricy for college students so we would always make sure to go in time for half price appetizers to start and just fill up on that. If you are going to go this route too make sure you show up early or else you will be waiting a lonnngg time. Half Price Apps starts at 9pm so we would always try to show up at 7:45 or 8 and just drink until then. Looking back that sounds kinda crazy but Scotty's is filled with mostly college kids so its fun to socialize with everyone else before hitting Dill Street or the Locker Room. In terms of food I thinks its so/so. I always get their loaded potato wedges or buffalo wings or chips and salsa. Their burgers and chicken sandwiches are pretty good too. They have a huge menu so you are bound to find something you like. & they have outdoor seating which is nice during the summer. The service is always pretty good despite the huge crowds --the waitresses are always quick to return to your table and fill up your pitcher.

Scotty's is probably my favorite restaurant in Muncie. There's a good sized menu. I don't think there's anything I've ordered that I didn't like! The Shewman burger is my favorite. It has bacon, cheese, jalapenos, & peanut butter. At first, I was skeptical about the peanut butter but it's great! Scotty's also has a great atmosphere and great service. It's a little pricey for students but worth what you pay!

Had an early dinner Sunday. Thanks to Savanah for her great suggestions. Thanks to Ben for creating that Cheesy Sun dried Tomato soup. You always have great recipes. We had burgers this time. Blazing Blue Bacon on Bison and the BBQ Burger. Both great! Bryce you continue to run a great ship! I have been coming here nearly every month for the past 3 years from Chicago. I grew up in Muncie and know there are a tremendous amount of choices for food here. Scottys is always my "go to" place. My only suggestion is if there was an easier way to get points added for meals. If there was a card to have scanned or something. I always forget to tell server and remember after leaving. Scotty, keep on doing what you do...it works!

Scotty's has really went downhill in the past year. They have gotten rid of a lot of their best beers and replaced them with their own "Three Wise Men" that they brew in Indianapolis. Also, they have recently changed their menu and gotten rid of many of their good items (ribs, mashed potatoes and a lot of their sides). They have also changed their macaroni and cheese, which is now awful and raised the prices of their pitchers on Tuesdays. Want to fix this Mr. Wise? Bring back Three Floyd's Beer, go back to your old menu, and change the price of your pitchers on Tuesdays. I've been going here for years with my parents and the last visit they assured me this would no longer be "the place" we choose to eat at when they visit.

This place has great "bar food". They serve Sprecker's root beer on tap (awesome). My favorite thing here is a burger I think they call the Sherman. It has jalapeno peppers, cheese, and peanut butter (yes, peanut butter). I just had to try it and now I find myself craving it. The staff is very good and they do whatever is necessary to make sure your happy. Oddly enough they are very family friendly. My 2.5 yr old grandson enjoys it.

Flashback to college! While visiting back home (yeay Indiana) for Christmas, I couldn't not stop and eat at scotty's. Another place that has Strongbow on tap (sweet!) And awesome dillchips. It's great tasting food and with a more than simple bar menu. I always go for my standby, MoFo Cluck Lite (makes the chicken not fried) and waffle fries. They have tots which are also tasty. There are good dailys and often check-in specials. Beer club looks fun, but I'm not too much into beer. Great place for chill time, games, and for group meetings (ha! But seriously, yes).
(5)
Jose A.
Tried this place with a bunch of work colleagues while travelling to Muncie for business. I like the selection of beers on tap! I had the StrongBow and I loved it. I liked it so much that I had to have 2 talls :) Food was also good. I had the Southern Sirloin burger which loaded waffle fries. Both were really good...

So I am back in the Muncie area and stopped in for dinner with a buddy from work. Same result as the last visit - excellent!! Friendly wait and bar staff, excellent beer selection (Bells Oberon - for the win!!) and great food. Also, need to add 1/2 price aps Monday-Thursday 3-6pm, Sunday-Thursday 9pm-close, and Friday-Saturday 10pm-close. Great spot in Muncie to have a good beverage and tasty food. I tried the Bison burger and it was delicious!

My experience at the Scotty's in Muncie has been hit or miss. The service can be extremely good or extremely bad -- I've had to wait more than a half hour before to pay my bill. The food is pretty good, as a vegetarian I've enjoyed the quesadillas several times. The beverage selection is pretty extensive, although a bit pricey. If you are looking for lots of seating, this place has it. It has a pretty good atmosphere for enjoying watching a sports game. The outdoor seating is great during the summer months.

While almost everything here starts off frozen from a GFS bag, Scotty's is an ok place for you to take your parents for lunch. The crowd tends to be middle-aged and faux affluent, and the music and tv choices reflect that to a tee. All desserts are made in-shop (the peanut butter pie is especially good), the burgers are actually pretty decent. The Domo Burger is a fantastic seared tuna steak topped with amazing FRESH guac. If you like it, ask me for the recipe. Seriously. There are locations in Bloomington, West Lafayette, and two Indy branches, but Muncie is the flagship store. So, it's a chain, albeit a small one. To recap, a little douchey, but solid American bar fare.
(3)
Sarah S.
In typical hilarious fashion, Albertro hits the nail on the head. I did, in fact, take my father here for lunch for his birthday, and he loved it. "Middle aged and faux affluent" is the perfect way to describe the clientele. Couldn't have said it better. They have Upland wheat on tap, or at least they did when I was here last, which wins them serious points in my book. The food was good, though nothing amazing. Standard fare for middle-aged, faux affluent hang-outs (that never gets old): burgers, wings, hearty soups, jalapeno poppers, that kind of thing. It's pretty mainstream-feeling, but decent all the same.

Brittany L.
Well, I liked this place a lot more when I ate meat. This place is so expensive and for no good reason - what I really cannot get over is the burger pricing. Wow - so progressive for offering that black bean burger, but why so much? I can buy the pack of six for cheaper. And I have to pay for the majority of the fixin's? That just really bums me out. I like the dill chips, but that's not really giving Scotty's much credit because everything is better deep fried and dipped in ranch and/or horseradish. Which brings me to another point - you have to pay a buck (or around that!) for an extra vat of sauce. Don't blame me because you dish out too much ranch - I just need a little bit to wet my whistle. I don't think I should be punished for liking BOTH sauces, okay? Rich, important, old people in the town go here to mingle, and there's the usual college crowd. YARRRT The beer selection is good, if I remember correctly.
(2)
Adrian C.
Pretty decent food and service, though it took a while to be seated Amazing burgers and MAC and cheese, but appetizers were overpriced for what you got and the complexity of the dish. The overall atmosphere is kinda middle aged and we saw a few of my boyfriend's professor's while we waited, which I wasn't sure was a good sign or not.
(3)
Shawn L.

Nice selection of local beers as well as a good variety of foreign and domestics. The food was good, but nothing too special. Friendly servers and good atmosphere. I've only been here once, so the food may be better than I've said. Everything looked great. Definately a nice place to watch a football game at.

I have to say off the bat, that I despise the decorative theme in this restaurant. There are pictures of Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong, etc. and those are just the trumpet players! They play absolutely no jazz, but instead have 3-4 televisions in your field of view at all times. It's a sport's bar/restaurant without the TGIF look. eweri.com/BSa - link to the restaurant's website. The food is worth it though. I mean every time I've been there, I have had no complaints, and they have some decent beer deals, like pitchers of Dogfish Head 60 minute I.P.A. for 6-7 bucks. The burgers are king though, they actually have a section where customer's have submitted their unique recipes and they are without a doubt unique. I remember only a few detail's but the one that stuck out was the 'Shewman' which had peanut butter and some other off-the-wall ingredients. You won't be disappointed if you decide to eat there.

Great food and a wide selection of beer! Very nice building and indoor/outdoor seating areas in 'the village' area of Muncie in Ball State.

Scotty's became my little Muncie spot. For being in the Village it kept itself apart from the craziness of the nightclubs and maintained its status as a restaurant/bar. They have a great drink list and a passport club where you can earn a plaque if you drink enough (only other place that does that is the Heorot downtown). The food is plentiful and very decently priced. The wait staff is great and attentive, but this place is probably better for 2 or more people to go to. They have great lunchtime specials and also happy hour. On nice days you can also choose between sitting inside or out on the patio where you can high five your best friends as they walk by on their way to class.

Great food, atmosphere and staff! Menu is way too large but loved thier brews!

The food is pretty good, however the service is awful. It always seems like waitress is trying to do a bad job. I refuse to go back because of the service. Which is a shame cause it's a pretty good burger.

Average sports bar. Pretty good burger. I'm not usually in Muncie, but if I need a good lunchtime burger in Muncie ever again I think I'd go back.

(3)Shawn L.
Cheap beer and pretty good bar food. What's not to like?
(4)Jesse T.
