What a find, I doubt I will ever be by here again but I am very glad we stopped. I had the award winning pork cutlet sandwich, it was big tender and tasty. Fries were good too but I was getting full after the fried biscuits with apple butter. They were yummy like apple orchard donuts, but you could feel the amount of grease in them. Overall I was happy to have this life experience . Our waitress was sweet & funny and added to the overall charm.

Best Q in Indiana, never had better ribs. The brisket is always the downfall of wannabe Q masters. They nail it - gimme the hot sauce Ok, we came back a week later with son and daughter in law. Everyone ordered a different dish. They both agreed Brisket and Pulled pork were the best they tasted in 15 years. And who can stop eating the biscuits?

Bbq is great, but, the sides and main entrées are just as good. Tried and loved the smoked turkey and house made smoked sausage.

Awesome smoked half chicken good service local beer. One of the best places in mooresville.

Not worth the money.....we'd rather drive 40 minutes to get better tasting bbq. Most of their sides are not made in house and taste like a walk in freezer.

My first time here at Squealer's and it won't be the last. What had a large party of 30 and they were able to accommodate all of us during their busy dinner crowd within 30 min. The service was prompt and the food came out hot. If you're looking for tasty BBQ, I'd check this place out if you're in town.

I have been here 4 times now, 2 carry out. I have not had a bad bite yet. I have had their combo to try several things at once and they were all excellent (brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and smoked turkey). The fried biscuits are good with apple butter and the sides are good (the beans have bbq and brisket pieces in them, I liked). I have seen bad reviews on mixed drinks, but I have no experience there. The food is great and the atmosphere is great for friends and/or family. You won't be disappointed.

Busy Saturday! Went in around 2pm and sat at the bar because it was so busy. Great bartender.. He made a great Bahama mama! Fried mushrooms were good... Loved the barbeque ranch dipping sauce! I got the smoked prime rib sandwich with fries. The prime rib was amazing... So tender and juicy. The grilled bun was a nice touch. The fries were average, quite greasy. My boyfriend had the giant tenderloin. He wasn't too impressed, although it really was giant! He said he wouldn't order it again. I would definitely go back and try the prime rib. Smelled amazing as we walked up to the door.

Finally made my way to Mooresville for some BBQ. The baby backs were great, competition grade for sure. The biscuits are amazing but wasn't crazy for the slaw and beans. Best I've had in the area.

Their pulled pork and brisket are always amazing. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri and it was horrible. The wait staff are always nice. I usually order the pulled pork nachos and have never been disappointed. They have fried biscuits and apple butter that my son goes nuts over. Would recommend but I would never order another blended drink from them again.

Squealer's BBQ: Did someone say SPUD? Over the years of being Naptown-ers, my family and I have tried countless BBQ joints. Only a few have been worthy of a revisit. Most had funky sauces, not ENOUGH sauce, dry meat, or poor service (and some had a combination of faults). For awhile there I was wondering what a girl had to do to get some decent Que---was there a secret underground smokehouse society??! What does a girl gotta do to get some ribs??? I'll tell you what you gotta do--pop on onto Squealers for a finger-lickin good time. I had never heard of the spot until I started working on the west side. My coworker convinced me to order with her for lunch one day, and I swear the clouds parted and little piglet angles started to sing. FINALLY, I had found my savory salvation. While I have yet to sit down for a meal inside of Squealers, I have ordered several times for take-out. Every experience has been fantastic! The sauces are great, with three options for any palette. For those of you who like the "spice things up a bit", like myself, I highly recommend the Mixed sauce with entrees. The pulled pork is nice and moist, and acts as a bitchin compliment to the humongous Spuds (aka baked taters). The kitchen provides plenty of extra sauce on the side to satisfy everyone's preferences...no dried out meat here, folks. When it comes to the Mooresville Squealers BBQ, I can only say great things. Two ribs up!!!

Great food, great service, fun atmosphere. The fried biscuits and apple butter... Just order the appetizer basket. They are that good.

We had the Baby Back Rib dinner, which was really good. I didn't know this was a chain restaurant until I got there. I was really looking for something local in Mooresville, but the ribs were great. Not much different than Smokey Bones, Tony Romas, etc., etc.

I lived part of my life in Texas and have traveled through most of the south (Memphis, Carolinas) and west (Kansas City) so I know my BBQ. Indiana is not known for the 'que. However, Squealers is a beacon in the darkness. My wife and in-laws love the pork ribs, but I am a brisket/pulled porked guy myself. They all have just the right amount of smoke and Squealers gets the pink ring that all BBQ lovers look for and love.

I was impressed. I took my dad here because he loves BBQ, and he loved it! I got brisket and it was really cooked through. Quality, slow cooking. I'd highly recommend if you want BBQ. The service was slow, and it was packed, so prepare to wait a lot.

Had high expectations for this place based on feedback from friends. I walked away very disappointed. Service was slow and had no sense of urgency at all. I had the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad. The pork was okay, buy the potato salad was forgettable. My most memorable experience was the fried biscuits. These were amazing and unlike any other I have ever had. Problem is I wont go back just for the biscuits as the supporting cast just is not good enough.

This is the best BBQ in Indianapolis. I've tried it all and Squealers does it right every time. The meat is perfectly tender and juicy, and the baby back ribs are to-die-for. The sauces are great with mild and spicy varieties. The side dishes are all excellent (although the mac & cheese can be over-cooked sometimes.) The appetizers are really great... I highly recommend the potato wedges. And of course, don't miss out on the fried biscuits with apple butter. You can't go wrong here... the portions are huge and prices are very reasonable. I even had them cater my wedding!

I've been to Squealers several times and the food is always very good. July 4th weekend we went, and the hostess and waitress were both very sweet and did whatever they could to take care of us. I could only give 4 stars, though, because the staff clearly needs more training on dealing with food allergies. They didn't seem to know what to do with my son's egg allergy. More than once they mentioned avoiding items with milk in them. What? Not very comforting when I knew my little guy has high yak potential if he eats even a bite of something with egg in it. I understand you can't cover every allergen in the world, but at least get a handle on the six most common ones!!

The ribs were awesome. Had a birthday dinner brought home to me. Only downside is the sides. They give you a styrofoam shot glass of bbq beans and a handful of fries.

We haven't been here for a bout a year the food was great the waitress was wonderfull, the manager Matt however needs some schooling on his management skills. The Mac and cheese portion was way small for two dollars. Matt said he would charge another two dollars and bring a regular portion out. REALLY what's a scoop full of Mac and cheese 25 cents . My single bill was 40 dollars. Not good customer service at all. Too bad. Will be along time on the return visit !!

  • Jim S.

The 3 stars is for the service. Our waiter was definitely on it the entire time. He never let our glasses run dry and got us everything we needed quickly even though it was pretty busy at the time. The food was not all that special and, IMO, not worth the return visit. This is the stingiest place I've ever seen on sauces and toppings. A slice of onion the size of a half dollar or a 1/2 ounce cup of sauce is 59 cents? You have to be kidding me. The meat is dry, and someone took a blowtorch to our nachos and burned the hell out of the cheese. These nachos are supposed to be one of the reasons this place is award winning in the first place. I could make better nachos at home in my microwave using Curly's pulled pork from the refrigerated section at Kroger's for less than the $10 they charge here for basically 10 chips, a hand full of cheese, and a little meat with an ounce of sauce on the whole portion. Everyone here in town raves about this place but I don't see what's so special about it. Good thing they have beers because you'd have to be piss drunk off your ass to think the BBQ here is as good as everyone says it is.

  • DeAnna P.

Food is always fantastic, service is usually average to slightly above average. I was surprised to see that a recent review said their portions were stingy. I always roll out of there miserably stuffed. They have the best ribs in Indianapolis, hands down. Their sides are also great, especially the mac and cheese. So cheesy!! If you want something a little out of the ordinary, try the bbq pulled pork nachos. Basic -- cheese, pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and sour cream. Simple, delicious.

I don't even know where to start. This ranks up there with one of the best BBQ places I've ever been in the country. Busy on this Saturday evening. They were out of brisket! How does this happen! I settled for the smoked 1/2 chicken dry which was super tender and moist with a great smoky aroma. I always get the mix of sweet and spicy bbq sauce it's a perfect blend of zip with a touch of sweetness and not over sweet but not super hot even though the chicken can stand alone a dip in the sauce every bite or so is perfect burst of flavor. I had baked beans and a sweet potato on the side. The baked beans had pork in them and had just the right amount of spice and seasoning in them. The meal comes with fried biscuits and apple butter. Everything a BBQ place should be!

Great smoke flavor on all the meats. Sides are good but be careful or you wont have room for them. They close at 9pm Mon-Sat and 8 on Sunday.

Really? This is what everyone was raving about? We got to an empty restaurant, and still had to wait while they pushed some tables together. For our group of four. Nothing like sitting miles away from the rest of your group. This place is stingy. The prices are high, but the portions are small. They nickel and dime you like crazy-59 cents for an extra cup of BBQ sauce? (And you'll need it) $2 for cheese and bacon on my potato? $18 for a "pick-3" sampler that didn't fill up me or my wife. Food was cold, and so was our waitress. Don't plan on splitting a meal-you'll end up hungry. I was expecting Texas Roadhouse portions, and I was disappointed. Go to Famous Daves instead- you'll get what you pay for.

This is some of the best bbq you can eat in Indiana! My family and I have been coming here alot and we love it! The first time we came here, we got Tom as our waiter. This guy is probably the best waiter in the whole place, trust me, when you come here if you can get his section ask for him, he is on it the whole time you are there! He is very friendly and always remembers us when we show up! The bbq is awesome, some of the best meals ever! The sides are delicious and the biscuts and apple butter are excellent!!! I think the price isn't that bad for all the food you get, very pleased with this place!!! They have blues music playing and has a nice relaxing feel to the place. You'll see alot of their awards and trophies they've won for their bbq sauce! I highly recommend this place to all of you bbq lovers! All this talk about it makes me want to go there now!!!

Save your money & time. Short story: cold, mediocre food, small servings, high price, charge extra for tiny cups of bbq sauce, dirty bathrooms with no paper towels or soap, in general terrible service. Here's the whole story: We waited 5 min to be seated at 4:00 on a Saturday when the restaurant was practically empty. They sat us at a strange table set up with 2 tables pushed together where we were so far apart we had to yell to hear each other (there were only 4 of us plus a highchair). We ordered from a very overpriced menu. Our waitress dropped off our plates very quickly & our food was barely room temperature. My baked potato was so overcooked it was no longer white on the inside & yet it wasn't even warm enough to melt the butter. All the meat was cold. We shared a sampler with brisket, pulled pork, & rib tips. It was all cold. For all this meat, we got one tiny condiment cup of bbq sauce which we had to select without the opportunity to try out the other options. The bbq sauce was bad. It was supposedly their hot sauce, but neither had heat nor complexity to it & extra sauces were $0.59 each. Our waitress came by 3 times, once for our order, once to drop it off, once to give the check. She never asked if the food was good. The bathrooms were dirty, the stall door didn't close all the way & there was no soap or paper towels. I think their bbq might have been good if it had been warm, but I wont be giving this place a second chance.

The one star is for the great fried biscuits and the good sweet barbecue sauce, otherwise, this review would be a big fat ZERO!! I love barbecue, I love going out to eat and trying new places, and I am not at all picky or hard to please, and I tend to make a lot of allowances for subpar service, but this was one of the worst experiences dining out ever! The service, if you want to call it that, is absolutely HORRIBLE! The waitress was very impatient and downright rude. She even rolled her eyes when the one time she asked if we needed anything and several of us asked for extra barbecue sauce. The reason we needed extra sauce was because if you ordered it on your sandwich, there was a dab on it, if you ordered it on the side, you got a small container of it. When the manager came around and asked if everything was OK, we told him that they need more sauce on their meat for which we were told that they do not put much on, as the sauce is only to enhance the meat, (in my opinion, the sauce is what makes a barbecue!) and that if we want more, the waitress can bring you more. We then told him that he waitress was not very friendly about bringing us more when we asked, he did not seem surprised, and his only comment was "thank you" and nothing more. I was never even asked if I needed a refill on my tea, which I like to have without asking. The brisket was OK at best, again, I did like the sweet sauce, and felt that it would be nice at a barbecue place to have sauce on the table as I have seen it at other places. I would have liked to have seen a little more response from the manager and mostly, I would have liked to have enjoyed my lunch with my family more without feeling that we were nothing more than pests to the waitress and afraid to ask for anything, and then wait forever for it...and that being what we focused on instead of enjoying ourselves as we should have and usually do. I will never go back and I would absolutely never recommend this place to anyone else. Like I said, the food was OK at best, but there are many other places with better food and MUCH friendlier service and atmosphere, which is as much of ones overall experience. This waitress should not be allowed to work there, from other reviews I'm not the only one who has complained about the service. I suggest that the management really look at this or your "award winning" barbecue is not going to be enough to keep people coming! I was sorry to write a review like this, I never have, but people looking for a good place to eat need to know ahead of time and management really needs to be seriously making some changes.

Mooresville's best secret! Everyone's heard of Gray Brother's Cafeteria, but this restaurant is one that I've passed by time and again only to one day finally give it a go. The atmosphere is great for a BBQ experience and the food and service is great! Our family now visits often. My husband rarely steps outside of a burger or steak type of meal, but he loves this place!

This is the most pitiful excuse for BBQ ive had yet here in Indiana. Im from this area but have lived in both GA and NC - 15 years between the two and tend think i know a couple things about Q. This is the DRYEST BBQ ive ever had and no amount of their extra thick and sweet/tangy sauce could ever help it. Its tough, stringy and dry and it must have to do with how they cook it or re-heat it or something. I mean the brisket, the pulled, everything is deeeeeryyyyy. The portions however small they are, are served in little bowls that are also small. The mac n cheese probably comes right out of a frozen dinner or something similar - seriously, you know the kind and mine was semi warm. Dont even get me started on the fried biscuits. Who the heck buys a can of biscuits and fries them til they are brown?? I mean, thats all these are - go buy a can and try it. People of the south would laugh. The biscuits are usually pretty greasy as well. My roommate used to get take out from here from time to time so unfortunately ive ate it more than a few times and yet have never had ANYthing memorable from this place. Somehow or another they have been able to rack up multiple awards for their Q which makes me wonder just how many people dont know good BBQ. Now onto the horrible service - good luck with that. Was only in here to sit down once and that was horrendous enough for me to not want to sit in there again. It was dark, service was slow and it was on the grimy side. They do have decent beers here so you better get drunk to eat this stuff! By the way, the prices are pretty outrageous, at least for what you get. Maybe the price is part of their gimmick i dont know. If you wanna chew your Q for a while, sure, give it a try. I guess i cant expect the people in this area to know good Q as i probably wouldnt had i not lived in a couple southern states in my younger years. If you want a better example it would be City BBQ but even then its not really close, closer though yet still not real good BBQ.

While discussing the opening of yet another bbq chain on our side of town we suddenly realized - we were hungry for some good bbq. We hadn't been to Squealers for a long, long time plus we had a ZooBook Coupon that was begging to be used, so we decided to head on over to the Mooresville location this last Saturday for an early dinner. The atmosphere was just what we were in the mood for - a family-friendly (i.e.- no smoking!) country-ish feel, large dining room with high ceiling, picnic-style tables scattered around but not overcrowded. We settled down in the small bar area, which is separated from the dining room, where a great mixture of blues and blues rock was playing (rather loudly to my enjoyment) across the stereo system. Squealers smokes all of their meats fresh daily over cherry & hickory wood - the delicious smell was immediately enticing and we made our food decisions quickly. The bartender was our server and he proved to be very proficient at his job. We both ordered "pick-two" platters which consist of 2 choices of meats and 2 sides. Since we wanted to try as much as possible, we both ordered different meats and different sides. We also ordered the meats with a dry rub only and Squealer's housemade bbq sauces on the side. We only had a very short wait before our meals were served. The St Louis-style ribs were great - they had a crunchy bark and the meat was tender and very flavorful. The Jumbo chicken wings were JUMBO and cooked perfectly - tender & juicy. The beef brisket was wonderful - tender, moist and pink in the middle. And, the best for last, the pulled pork was truly perfect in every way. It had the most amazing smoke flavor and the perfect melt in your mouth texture. The sides were great, too. We had the bbq baked beans which were surprisingly mild & simple but were a great accompaniment to the highly flavorful meats. The mac'n'cheese was creamy and intensely cheesey. The cole slaw was creamy but sweet and the cabbage was nice & crunchy. Onion rings were good. The meals also came with 2 fried biscuits and apple butter. I honestly have never understood the Hoosier fascination for this dish but, after having Squealer's version, I am now a fan. Fried & crisp on the outside and chewy & fresh on the inside. The apple butter was good, too but we enjoyed dipping the biscuits in our sides of bbq sauce. We also had beer with our meals - they have your basic domestic drafts and bottles, also a small selection of craft beer in bottles and also Oaken Barrel Indiana Amber on draft! We'll be going back to Squealers soon.

Love this place! While I was in town for family matters I ended up eating Squealers four times! I went mainly because my brother was adamant I try it, although I don't eat much bbq, and after the first bite I was hooked. I liked every single side I tried and the pulled pork and apple butter biscuits were yummy! Can't wait to visit Indy and eat it again!

My husband took me here the first time I moved to Indiana. I am a hard person to win over when it comes to food, especially that the fact I have just moved down here from Chicago, what's has a diverse cultural background within the city, with various diversity of food. So when he took me here for the first time, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. When I first got there favors pulled pork sandwich, I was in love! Their barbecue is awesome, even by Chicago standards!
