About Papa Murphy
Papa Murphy is one of the top pizza chains in the United States. Papa Murphy was formed after the merger of two popular local pizzerias namely Papa Aldo's and Murphy's respectively. The trend of "take and bake" pizzerias gained popularity in the United States during the early 90s. The growing popularity these two take and bake pizzerias located in Hillsboro, Oregon and Petaluma, California respectively gave the idea of a possible merger to Terry Collins.

Customers can relish Papa Murphy pizzas by simply walking into the nearby Papa Murphy outlet or simply order online or call-in to pick up the order later. Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

One of the best Italian restaurants in our area! The place doesn't look like much from the outside but boy do they know how to cook Italian food! Everything was delicious from the salad and garlic bread to the homemade and fresh pasta dishes. I usually get the chicken parm and my husband usually gets the eggplant parm but we've had other dishes and everything has been great. Love this place! Can't wait for our next visit there!

On the south side of Mishawaka, on Union St., and close to Dorban's butcher shop, is this mother of pearls. You park across the street and see it from the outside. It doesn't seem like much. Open the doors. Down the stairs and into one of the most ornately and beautifully decorated places in town. You're definitely taking a step back in time here. It's only open on Fridays and Saturdays, so make sure you get reservations. Perfect place for a date, or to take friends from out of town. Very pleasant waitstaff, and very generous portions. The menu offers quality Italian food, served with rich flavorful sauces in generous portions. Veal, chicken, and seafood are featured on the menu. There are also vegetarian options. Papa Joe's would get 5 stars merely for their salads, homemade dressings, and unlimited garlic bread. Also, the bathroom is soooo cool.

Papa Joe's.....where do I begin? It was date night for my wife and I (with 3 kids, getting out of the house is a date) and we were going out with another couple and had a mood for Italian. While Papa Vino's never disappoints, I decided to check my yelp app and see if there was some other italian place locally we havent been to yet that was good. And based on reviews, Papa Joes sticks out like a sore thumb. So we head towards Union St and park across the street (the only place to park) and wallk towards this dumpy looking restuarant. I am thinking in my head "Dont let me down Yelpers" as we walked downstairs towards the restaurant and walked into an almost empty restaurant at 6pm on a Friday night and considering they are only open 2 days a week, this still isn't looking good. We are seated in a restaurant that is almost decorated like a house and is a definite throw back. We were waited on by a wonderfully nice waitress (I dont remember her name) and got our drinks. The ladies ordered salad which they raved about and the homemade dressing seemed to be the biggest pleaser on the salad. My friend ordered the Ribeye and I was thinking "Really, a Ribeye steak at a freaking Italian place" You come to an Italian Restaurant to eat Italian right? Dont make this mistake as my friend said it was the BEST Ribeye steak he has EVER had and he considers himself a Ribeye connoisseur. Everything we ordered that night was top notch and were blown away how we hadnt heard of this place before. As we looked around, at 6:30 the place was getting busy and by 7:00 it was packed, so make a reservation. Since then, our friends who went with us have been back more than we have and have taken their parents their etc. Its a place I would without question recommend and If you live in the area, support your local restaurants who do it right as these guys do and if travelling through the area......EAT HERE! While the parking and the outside of the building leave something to be desired, they wont even matter after you have eaten here. Trust your fellow yelpers, we wont let you down and neither will Papa Joe's

One of our favorite restaurants in Michiana - such a cool place, unassuming from the outside but so unique inside. The food is excellent, best salad you will get anywhere. Service is with a smile, I can't imagine anyone not loving this place.

I liked my experience yesterday! It was a someone's birthday and they wanted to go here. When we sat down she wanted to get our drinks. Well the waiter served us the appetizers first. And that was not in the schedule. Then our drinks came out after the app. Then nothing happens! The drinks came out then... What? Nothing... A slow service THEN she came out. And said "what do you want for dinner?" Wow!!!! Finally. She did it. When she got our orders, served us, then we had a birthday. We wanted a cake. And for awhile like 30 minutes. When it came out. Had almonds on it. Well I didn't want almonds! But it was a good restaurant! "Happy birthday to... What! What's taking so long? What? Why does the cake a Have almonds? Bla!"

Ambience: From the outside the place looked really small, like an old hardware store with a low flat roof. Since it's only open on Friday and Saturday afternoon into the evening, you simply don't see anybody around it during the week, which further discourages newcomers. I drove by it for many years, and for most of them I genuinely thought this business was closed and nobody took the time to remove the sign. I didn't find out that it was still a running business until a colleague at work mentioned how great the place was. Right beyond the double doors was a set of stairs heading down to the right. Because the restaurant was basically at the basement level while the ceiling followed the roof line, it was much more spacious than suggested by the exterior. The interior was designed to look like an Italian garden, or what the owner thought an Italian garden would look like, back in the 50's. The chairs looked genuinely old, the booth seating surface had that cracked/wrinkled look and ivory color peculiar to the 50's. The tables were covered with cheerful plastic cloth that I'm not sure you can still find today. Potted plants were everywhere. It looked like a place lovingly decorated by somebody's grandma, and it gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Food and Drink: This was where the restaurant really shined. For starter they served me with a big bowl of salad, and the waiter explained to me that the two bottles (which rubber caps and wire retainers suggested previous life as Italian soda containers) on the table contained regular and creamy Italian dressings. They were meant to be used together, although obviously I was free to use just one. Since this was my first time I fixed it the way they intended it. I never thought I would say wow to a lowly salad, but wow. They mixed up a bit of wet julienned carrots to moisten the mix, so the salad didn't have to fully rely on the dressing to soften it. I was floored when I tasted the dressing mix and didn't recognize it, it tasted unusual in a good way. Most regular restaurants use the standard food-service Italian dressing out of a gallon jug, and I have come to expect that standard taste. What they had was most definitely not standard, so it could only mean they used their own recipe and made it themselves. What a breath of fresh air. Although it was marketed as a pasta house, I ordered the steak just because that's what I liked, and also because I knew how a good steak should taste. Mine was cooked to the ordered temperature, and it was covered with veggies and mushrooms in their special sauce. The heavy sauce overpowered the steak a little, but as a whole it was a delicious meal. Service: The service was good but unremarkable. I had no complaints. Value: As if a big 'ol bowl of salad and unlimited garlic bread (which is also great, btw) weren't enough, my 12oz steak came with a plate of pasta, topped with their own marinara sauce with meat (excellent). It was like a visit to your grandma who doesn't let you leave unless you're stuffed to the gills. It's gonna cost you $20-$30 per person to eat here, but it's a good value since you'd struggle up the stairs if you finish everything. Rating: It wasn't a fancy place by any stretch of the imagination, but it had the feel of somebody's labor of love. Sure it wasn't exactly 'authentic' Italian, but that has never stopped me from seeing the place in a positive light. By the way, in Italian the name should be "Casa Di Pasta". Casa De Pasta is Spanish. I'm returning the love. Five stars.

My husband and I had dinner there last night for our anniversary. Papa Joe's is decorated to the max, but gives you a warm cozy atmosphere. The staff is super friendly, and very efficient. My husband had the special that is posted on their website ( papajoescasadepasta.com ) the Loaded Shrimp Scampi and I had the Broccoli Alla Siciliana with Chicken. Both were fantastic. Papa Joe's may become our anniversary dinner tradition.

I had the most amazing time tonight. Being from out of town I did not know we're to eat. I was craving italian but didn't know we're to go so I turned to yelp... I went here and to start out they had salad and such amazing salad dressing. I recommend using both together. There is unlimited bread sticks. I ordered the Venice n and it was amazing. They kept putting more food in front of us to try. The steak was so lean and good I didn't even know what to eat. Now I am so full! If your thinking of were to go out on a Fri or Sat night this is the spot! Don't second guess yourself just make the drive and you will not be disappointed! The place was packed so make a reservation. An amazing hole in the wall! And true authentic italian!

I must say this was a very good experience the food was awesome. It's been quite some time since I've been to a restraunt where I order food an it comes out pipping hot!! Usually it's warm but this was fresh off the stove an delicious!! I had the loaded shrimp, I highly recommend it!
(5)Danielle G.
I love Papa Joe's. It's a timeless classic Italian restaurant with EVERY dish made to order. If you're in a hurry... go to Olive Garden or better yet, Fazzoli's. This place is the real deal. BRAVO!!!
(5)Rachael G.
I've been to Italy numerous times and have never seen anything like this over there. A huge bowl of noodles- not pasta- covered in veggies and meat is more like bowl of pho or noodles. It is delicious
(4)Tricia W.
This is one of my favorite places. The food is amazing, the real deal. No chain, no junk in the makings here. This food is made from the heart. The owner is ones of the best parts. I was ordering carryout once and I asked her if she thought the lasagna was any good? She quipped back, ya, it's good, I made it! The parking lot across the street shouldn't deter anyone from visiting this gem.
(5)Court A.
The atmosphere was amazing! Food avg. bill got screwed up Waited forever Probably wouldn't go back.
(3)Mojo S.
One of the recent highlights to my trip to the area was this gem of a restaurant. Cozy, quaint, charming--these are all words I would use to describe this place. If I could judge a place on atmosphere alone this place would get top marks. However, it's the delicious pastas, baked dishes, and unlimited garlic bread that put this place over the top. Everything was delicious, the kind of Italian food that you wish you could make in your own home. It all seems so simple, great ingredients and fast preparation--it makes you wonder why everything you make can't be this good. My only regret is that we only had one meal to try dishes out. Otherwise, if I did have more chances to go, I'd be sampling everything from their menu. Probably repeatedly. You're not going to find a better Italian place than Papa Joe's if you're looking for a unique romantic spot to eat scrumptious food. And you're certainly not going to find a better place that, so far, is still a relative secret so you can wow your friends with this "small place I discovered out of the way," so take advantage of this recommendation as soon as possible.

Amazing. My husband and I were driving to a different Italian restaurant on Saturday night, and happened to drive past Papa Joe's. We've been by a few other times, always mentioning that we'd like to give it a try, but we've never been close by on a weekend. This time, we drove around the block and back. Best decision of the week! Parked across the street, and were a little worried heading into the building. Sure doesn't look like much, but you can smell the garlic from outside. Mmmmmm..... Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were able to be seated right away (it was about 7:30pm). The decor might be described as over the top or old fashioned, but it all just added to the ambiance of being in someone's home. Someone who makes really good Italian food and probably spends a lot of time dusting artificial plants. The unlimited garlic bread would be enough of a reason to return. You don't even have to sheepishly ask for more - they just keep bringing it! Entree portions are huge. My husband is a human garbage disposal, and he couldn't finish his. Bonus - they put even more garlic bread in our to-go boxes! I love that it isn't just a choose your pasta shape & choose red or white sauce kind of a place. It's definitely one of the more creative Italian restaurants in town. Dessert (we had tiramisu and spumoni) was good, too. This is now - BY FAR - our favorite Italian place in the South Bend area. I'm looking forward to bringing visiting family here, and have them wonder about my sanity when we pull into the parking lot. No doubt they will be converts, too!
(5)Aditi G.
My best friend has sworn by this place for as long as she can remember and I finally went here to eat with her and I loved it! A tiny, humble little place so unassuming that if you were driving and didn't know its exact location, you would drive right past it. It is very charming and cute. It is filled with all sorts of plants and different decor. It has a very warm atmosphere and the service is friendly! I got the cheese tortellini and it was delicious. My friend got one of her usuals: the lasagna roll. (I'll have to try that next time!) They also have unlimited salad and garlic bread (take that Olive Garden!) Delicious food. Go there. Now.

I have lived in California since 1979 and Papa Joe's remains a destination whenever I visit. I love everything about it. The food, the decor, the location, and most of all the staff make Papa Joe's a treasure to savor!
(5)Molly D.
Haven't been in about 3 years but the wine offerings were deplorable. Food quite good but I would not go back unless I knew there has been a SERIOUS upgrade to the wine list!!
(2)Danny L.
Recently returned after several years and enjoyed it quite a bit. Everyone was very nice to us, and the service was prompt although the entree took longer than expected. I would agree with another review that the red sauce tasted very salty! Overall food quality is good, atmosphere is pleasant and the place is worth an occasional visit.

Favorite Italian place in the area. You have to be in the know about this place otherwise you'd have no idea. Only open on weekends, but don't miss it.

My first visit to Papa Joe's was okay. I read a few reviews ahead of time and it sounded excellent, but it didn't quite live up to the expectations. We were a large group and the front cover of the menu warned that they had a small staff, so a relaxed pace of service was to be expected - we thought the service was very good. We shared the sausage and peppers appetizer which was quite good. The sauce was pretty sweet and I think it may have had added sugar. I personally prefer a more savory sauce, but this really was good. The entrees were average. I had the Chicken Marsala and my first bite was incredibly salty. The chicken was small chunks instead of half or full breasts. It was mixed with pasta and a white sauce, topped with shreds of white and yellow cheese. The menu did mention the cheese topping, but I was surprised by the yellow (cheddar?) - I've never had cheddar on this dish. Another member of our party had the steak and requested it medium well. He was very happy with the flavor and shared some. Again, I found it a bit salty and over-seasoned (thought not as much as the marsala). The decor was very cute - ready for Christmas. Everyone in our party who visited the restrooms commented on the decor. The ladies room had very fragrant floral aroma, so be aware of you're sensitive to fragrances.
