First time here, and I was VERY impressed. Satay and peanut sauce were awesome. All food came out PIPING hot, very fresh. Soups should be a meal, not an appetizer, and were very authentic to what I remember from my travels to southeast Asia. Desserts look scary... but don't let them fool you- both rice pudding and fried custard were delicious. We will be back for sure.

Tucked away in a dreary shopping center, Noodle Alley is not the restaurant you would expect to find; it's better! I'm becoming more of a fan with each visit and each new menu item I try. Right now my favorite is the Mango Cashew Fried Rice, but I really enjoy their dumplings and Pad Thai. Unlike another popular Thai restaurant in the area, Noodle Alley is a full service restaurant, in addition to being a great place for take out. It is clean and cozy, perfect for date night or a family dinner. What I like the most about Noodle Alley is I know that I will be seated rather quickly, I won't have to wait a long time for my order, the food is great and the prices fit my student budget. This has become my local Thai food favorite!

We have wanted to try Thai food for a long time, but just never had the time, so when our car was getting worked on we decided to walk around this little strip mall. Man am I glad I decided to walk back in the little "alley" that this place was in. I am a huge fan of Thai food now. I tried the Chicken and Coconut soup, it was good much, much better than the typical wonton soup offered at any Chinese place. My wife went for the dumplings, they were better than traditional Chinese dumplings, more veggies which I have to admit I was a fan of the veggies. For the entrée I had the Pad Thai with chicken, it was delicious, best Asian noodle dish I have ever tried. My wife got something that I can't remember the name of, but it was half a roasted chicken, with rice, and a cucumber salad along with a spicy sauce, it was excellent. The menu had some Chinese options on it, but the majority was Thai, or so the waiter and the little headings told us. The waiter could have been a little more attentive, but I will forgive poor service if it comes along side food this good. Definitely worth a trip to this little unassuming restaurant.

Ok, I have been back here a few times. The atmosphere is decent and the food is respectable, though not stupendous. So my rating is now three instead of two stars. It is good enough to treat first timers to Thai cuisine for a good price. But for those already inducted to the Thai Lovers Club, this will not quite fill the bill.

One of best kept secrets in the area, Noodle Ally is a fabulous taste of real home made Tai. New ownership is really compromised to putting all in their food. definitely worth to try, prices are affordable and portions are slightly bigger than the average tai restaurant around the area. I got the Tai tea with the Pad Thai, dumplings and mango salad. It tasted like heaven... It is family owned, you can taste it on the food...hummm! You won't be dissapointed! One of the best on the area if not the best! :( no coupons or gift certificates though

Great green curry, pad thai and Thai iced tea! The portions during lunch were pretty large. The curry came with tons of chicken, veggies and spices. Service was quick and friendly and the restaurant was nice inside. Lunch prices are very reasonable.

I love this place. Family owned, tasty, pretty close to the authentic flavors of Thailand and abundant portions. Only one meal gets you full. They cook it right and put their heart into it. Try the Thai tea and the earthy desserts, light compared to the typical restaurant thing full of calories! Check it out!

Best thai food in the area. Reasonable prices, delicious food and nice atmosphere. Their soup portions are very large and you get a lot of bang for your buck. My favorite dishes are pad see ew, pad Thai, and green curry. Much better than Cambodian Thai in flavor, price and environment, Their service isn't the best, as they do bring out food when it is ready, resulting in some people in your party getting food before others. However, I found that if you order appetizers, then this problem is solved.

My husband and I ate here on Friday night and enjoyed it immensely. The service was great, the food was very tasty, and the prices were reasonable - you can't beat that combination! We started with the dumplings, which were very light and fresh-tasting. The flavor was more delicate and less greasy than many other dumplings I've eaten, and we enjoyed them very much. For dinner, I had the drunken noodles with chicken, spicy, and my husband had the volcano chicken, also spicy. Both entrees were perfectly prepared and well-balanced in flavor. The basil leaves in the drunken noodles added a unique element in combination with the rest of the ingredients, and the effect was wonderful. The volcano chicken was battered and fried, but again was far less greasy than similar dinners I've eaten elsewhere. The balance of spice was perfect, the chicken was tender and moist, and the batter was beautifully crispy. We were too full for dessert, but the mango sticky rice sounded really good! We will definitely be eating here again.

I've been to several Thai restaraunts in SB and this has em all beat. Nothing fancy about this place. Its got an open dining area with a cozy fire place. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. They may be almost too helpful because it seemed as though they asked how everything was about 10 times during our dining experience. Now onto the food. The curries arent too spicey and the food isnt too salty. I ordered the green curry with tofu and it was tasty. The Thai Iced Tea goes great with it. For those who want a thai meal on the cheap this is the place to go.

I love how when I go to this place the food is never the same but is always good! I recommend the yellow curry fried rice with chicken (I normally don't like pineapple in my food but they know what they are doing and the flavor balance is perfect!) or the yellow curry (soup thing) I have been to many expensive restaurants and rarely do I find them as enjoyable as this place!

The first week after I found this place I returned 4 times... Best fried tofu I've had. The noodle soups are huge and very tasty. The padtai (sp) is a thing of beauty.

I had only been to Noodle Alley once so I decided to go back tonight to better judge the food. The first time eating there I came in around 7:30 pm and was the onlyone there. Not a good sign but I rolled with the idea of trying it. Durning service a about 3 other tables came in to redeem the empty restaurant factor. At first look over the menu, I realize the owners are a bit confused as to whether this is a Thai or Japanese restaurant... even chinese for that matter. The menu has a small handful of Chinese (like Orange Chicken) and Japanese (like teriyaki and Yakisoba). I worry when I go to a place and see this mix of cultures because they first need to define their specialty which here should be thai before attemping Japanese or Chinese. I ordered the Fresh Spring Roll and Duck noodle soup (waiter recomended) The fresh roll is not cooked... it is a fresh paper thin skin with lettuce, sprouts, herbs and chicken inside. It's served with a peanut based dipping sause (like a peanut butter with a sauce like consistency) It was good, but not great.... it was more of a asian salad wrap with a peanut dressing. Mostly Iceberg lettuce inside. The Duck Noodle soup was a broth with 5 peices of sliced duck, bean sprouts and noodle. The duck was very tender. The noodle where a little overcook and very soft. I hate saying this but the broth and noodles was very similar to store bought Ramen noodle soup. This was definetly a soup base mix from powder and not made from true beef or chicken stock. I won't rate a place unless I have been there a few times so, I did return the other night for dinner. I wanted to try their other thai dishes I have eaten before other places and wanted to taste their version of Chinese and/or Japanese. I ordered Drunken noodle and Orange Chicken. The noodle were again a bit over cooked and softer than they should be. The right flavors shere there but just didn't stand out from other thai places I have been and definetly not even close to the best ones I have eaten. The Orange Chicken was not the same as in a Chinese restaurant... this is not a bad thing. I would rather have it be different, then a lousey attempted copy. It was big flat chunks of chicken, dusted with flour and fried. I like that it was not heavily batter or breaded. It was coated with a spices and served with a dipping sauce. Again no wow factor but wasn't bad. Think of it almost as an orange chicken satay but replace the peanut sauce with an orange sauce and you pretty much know what your getting. Portion wise, This could make a better appetizer to share than a meal. All in all I will say I could see many people who have not eaten thai at many places really liking this place. However, I have eaten at hundreds of Thai places, even homecooked Thai and I think this place just OK at best. In South Bend there is not a big choice of place to go to eat Thai (4 that I can think of and this one is not the worst but, very far from the one I consider one the best and that one is here in South Bend thank G-d!) So in all while this is not best choice for Thai in my opinion it is not bad.

When frustrated by how freaking long it took to get a table and be seated at the Flat Top grill, I grabbed my smartphone and looked for other places to grab a bite at. (love the yelp app). We decided to stop in by Noodle Alley based on the review and the only reason we knew where this place was we walked by it after eating at Cosimo's and Susies (another jewel off the beaten path and in the Town and Country Shopping Plaza) and decided to try have some Thai Food, and lets face it, the selection in Michiana isn't that vast. We were immediately seated and the ordered lettuce wraps as a starter. My wife is in love with the lettuce wraps at PF Changes and let me tell these aint them. They are mediocre at best and skip those if I can suggest it (they have much better starters anyway....READ ON) . However, while my wife ordered a soda, I ordered the Thai Iced Tea and it was awesome and not quite like anything I have ever had. I ordered the Pad Thai and my wife ordered the Drunken Noodles. Both entrees were good, but the standout was the Drunken Noodles. They were awesome and were a major reason for us going back. We have been back now 3 times either carry or dine in and have tried other items such as the Crab Rangoon (Really Really good) the Sattes (Really Really Good) the Volcano Chicken (so so) and the Basil Duck (which we brought a friend of ours there, he ordered that and thought it was quite good). The only reason I give this place 4 stars is the service is below average. If you are being waited on by the manger or possible owner (I have never asked) you will get good service. If waited on by the other girl, your service will be sometimes frustrating as when even not busy she seems to make mistakes or disappear. However, the food MORE than makes up for this and is still a place we would recommend to go. It has become one of my wife's favorites and if any friends of ours have any interest in Thai, we take them there.

Both my husband and I were looking forward to going to the Noodle Alley Restaurant! Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience!!! We are both vegetarians and at the beginning we were really excited to have found so many vegetarian dishes! The service was OK, but the food was horrible! I asked if I could substitute the rice that came with my meal with noodles, and they said that would be OK. When I tasted the noodles, they had no flavor... the eggplant side dish I got (I paid over $7 for a lunch portion!) was also very blend and no flavor! I only got like 2 small pieces of eggplant, along with all the other vegetables! I told the waitress if they could stir-fry my noodles, as the rice noodles were just simply boiled and she took the plate to the kitchen and then came back with a side of rice, saying that the chef said that if they will stir-fry the noodles, will make them "even worse!" They didn't offer me any other options, and then I told them I will not be able to eat my meal... and then they said SORRY and took my plate... in the end, we actually had to pay for my meal, even if I only tasted it! Very disappointing!!! That was my first (and last!) experience at Noodle Alley!!!

Tried Noodle Alley for the first time today. I was impressed with our choices and very satisfied with the service. The menu could be organized a little better, but it's okay. The chicken satay appetizer was tender and delicious - one of the better satays I've had. Although the peanut sauce could have been a little thicker. The entrees we tried were very good, but could use a little less salt. Our server was attentive and very friendly. He made sure everything was to our liking. I'll definitely be back to try more menu choices. P.S. To the reviewer who gave it a 1-star rating, I just don't see how this place could be deserving of a 1-star rating.

Noodle Alley is probably best for take out unless you really like sitting in a mostly empty restaurant. The food is delicious and the portion sizes are great. The price is just right for what you get and the customer service was quite acceptable, but that was because we were the only ones there. That didn't bother me. This place is probably best for takeout or a nice private meal, but I will have to come back and see how busy they are another time. I look forward to eating here again. The yellow curry was great!

Horrible "Thai" food. Myself and two friends decided to try this place on a Friday afternoon after discovering our favorite Thai restaurant had closed. I ordered pad kee mow one friend ordered pad see ew and our friend who was unfamiliar with Thai food went with the safe bet, pad Thai. None of these dishes tasted anything like any Thai dish that is or has existed... Ever. The pad Thai was a super sweet over-sauced abomination that couldn't even approach what it should taste like. My pad kee mow had zero flavor, save for the horrible over cooked vegetables and I'm almost positive the mushrooms came out of a can... I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone and consider it's food an insult to Thai cuisine.

Ordered the spicy catfish from Dine In delivery. It took longer than when I used the courier to get food from a nearby sub shop, but that may or may not be the fault of the restaurant. Loved loved loved the food. That is all.

This little thai restaurant that is tucked inside a strip mall is very unassuming from the outside but once you walk in you wonder if you walked into the right place. Very cute decor with intimate seating. The restaurant is small and cozy, which is a good thing. Our lone server was very friendly and helpful. We order the wings that come in a sweet and sour sauce. My kids ordered the Thai grilled chicken and devoured their plate within seconds. I'm assumed it was really good cuz they left nothing in the plate besides the bones. I had the Basil Tilapia which was very flavorful. I don't live in the area but will definitely come back to this place when I am.

If I had reviewed this place after the first several times I went there ( in early 2011), it would've gotten 4 stars, with maybe even a 4.5 write-in; however, the quality of the service and food slowly deteriorated through when I graduated college in May 2012 and left area (though I still went... which says something). They have a really bad practice of bringing out dishes very far apart, even up to 15 minutes one time. Not saying that they should bring out 1 cold dish and 1 hot dish, but the cooking timing should be better. Noodle Alley's pad thai is the best pad thai I've had. I've had a lot of pad thai, and it's not my all time favorite thai dish, but this is really good pad thai. Something about it - not too saucy, noodles are the right firmness, lots of peanuts, fresh veggies, and good amounts of meat/tofu. Their thai fried rice is very good too, and the crab rangoon is outrageously tasty. Again, I noticed a slight deterioration in food quality over the year and a half I frequented here, but the most noticeable degradation was in service. I would recommend it, but mostly for takeout. And very specifically for crab rangoon + pad thai.

I've ordered a few items for take-out in the last few months. Phad Thai, Tom Yum, Green Curry, Drunken Noodles, Duck and Basil, etc. It's never been great or even really good. I think there's a "freshness" factor that's not happening in the preparation, at least in this recent period (I see some glowing reviews, mostly older). Most recently, I re-ordered a Tom Yum and found it literally not worth eating, as the broth was clearly too thin (not enough meat and bone involved, or maybe they don't even make their own broth?). I don't like writing negative reviews, but I will not get anything more from this place unless I hear that things have changed. It is surely a struggle to keep a place going in that rather dingy strip mall. But food is food.

The decor is way to funny to pass up--it was a hilarious experience (it looks like a fifties diner on the outside, and a southern buffet restaurant on the inside....only with large oriental fans on the walls) with surprisingly good food! Drunken noodles were delicious, edemame are always a win for me. Wasnt so crazy about the curry.

My husband and I came here for the first time this past Sunday (2/17). Neither of us had ever been here before but I had wanted to try it for a long time. We had a wonderful visit! We had chicken satay and steamed dumplings for appetizers and pad thai (chicken for me, beef for him) as our entrees. I got mine without heat and he ordered his with medium heat. The heat was good without overwhelming the dish. And the portions are pretty big. Our waiter was informative and attentive. He never once let our water glasses go empty. Overall great visit! We will definitely be back again for more pad thai and to try other dishes as well.

My boyfriend never really eats Thai food so I took him here to try it, that ended up being a huge mistake. I think we went on a Sunday. We walked in and the restaurant was completely empty of any other patrons. That should have been my first sign. We order crab rangoon and panag curry chicken bowl with rice to split and a Thai ice tea. The food came out way too quickly, like literally 7minutes after I ordered. That was the second sign this wasn't going to be a good experience. I know that some meal prep must be conducted but I want my food cooked somewhat fresh when I order it. What I was given seemed like it came from a large tub of precooked panag from the fridge that was reheated. The chicken in it smelled old which made the whole dish smell really off. The sauce tasted weird, like old chicken. I stopped eating to take a sip of my iced tea and there is a flea in it. Not the biggest deal but still gross, sometimes it happens. Then my boyfriend shows me a disgustingly thick hair in his food. I'm done with this place. I informed the waiter of how I felt as nicely as I could and let him decide what should be done. He said he comp the whole meal and so I left a tip for him and left. I have no plans on ever returning. I guess I will stick to Cambodian Thai.

Just got back from eating at Noodle Alley with a friend and it's absolutely delicious! My friend and I got the steamed pork dumplings and the soy sauce that they came with was actually thicker than the soy sauce that I usually see, and the dumplings were very flavorful. I got the drunken noodles and they were so yummy! Got them with chicken and they were perfect! :)

It pains me to have to write a negative update to a review of a restaurant I used to really love. I was willing to give Noodle Alley another chance after the last experience, but this is the last straw. I ordered the basil fried rice as a takeout order. This used to be a very nice fried rice with bell peppers, a meat of your choice and lots of basil. What I got tonight was just wrong. Someone thought it would be a good idea to randomly throw more vegetables into the fried rice. This in and of itself would not have been a bad thing, if those vegetables hadn't come from a frozen bag of mixed vegetables. Lima beans and corn do not belong in fried rice! Ever! The massive chunks of chicken were also dry and utterly flavorless. This is not the basil fried rice I fell in love with two years ago. Noodle Alley, you're dead to me. Cambodian Thai from now on. I'm really, really sad about this.

I wouldn't know how the food was, since they never brought mine. They served my wife but never brought mine. I only had to ask 3 times to have a beer as well. So I guess service might just be the problem. Wife said here's was pretty good though.

Finally I found a great Thai place in Michiana!! Everything I've had so far has been amazing! Green curry is great my favorite with great big pieces of eggplant! Satay is excellent, great rama chicken, spicy cucumber salad which was different but really good!! Wish it was closer to me! But definitely worth the drive! Location is definitely sketchy but service is great and friendly.

3.5 stars Hidden in an old shopping mall, the curiously-named Noodle Alley is a refreshing change from the boring chain restaurants that usually dominate South Bend. They have a decent number of noodle dishes, but it is not a noodle specialty restaurant despite its name. Instead, Noodle Alley is a respite for homely and classic Thai dishes, with a sprinkling of "Americanized" chinese selections. For appetizers, their spring rolls are fresh and crispy, even if the filling is only cabbage.... Of course, at a Thai restaurant, it is important to try their pad thai ($8). It was flavored and seasoned well, despite the stinginess of the beef (which was tough and stringy anyways). Personally, I prefer their rice dishes such as pineapple or mango fried rice. They also have many curry choices with the 3 classic bases: red, green, or yellow, ranging from $7-$13 depending on the meats. Both their red and green curries are tasty, and filled with lots of vegetables ranging from bamboo, peppers, and broccoli. Although the broth is a bit watery, all the curries I've tried are seasoned well (and err on the side of mild so ask for more spicy stars). Other dishes I've tried include the ginger fish ($12) which was just battered fish tossed in some sweet sauce, lacking ginger flavor, or any crispiness. However, for Mishawaka, Noodle Alley is a nice authentic change of pace without the grease overload that you find at subpar Asian restaurants and definitely one of the better places in the area. Service is below average, simply because it is only one waiter (owner's son I presume) for the entire place. I have never seen additional help besides him in the couple times I've been there. Kitchen is fast though so that's good. Food (6.5/10) Service (2/5) Decor (3/5) - nice fireplace in the middle of the dining room Value (4/5) - Dinner entrees are in the $8-12 range. Apps ~$5
