Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This place opened in this incarnation a month ago (i..e., sometime October 2014) at McKinley Town & Country Shopping Center, a rather dreary but interesting strip mall where there's a BMV and Harbor Freight and Noodle Alley and much else. Apparently it was El Charro Feliz in 2013, to judge by Yelp. I think it was a Thai place before that, too. I tried two take-out items and want to review it to put it on the Yelp map. I like that the restaurant has two menus, with one listing their more intensively Mexican foods and another (which I didn't study) that presumably offers more mainstream fare. (The subtitle, as it were, for the restaurant is "Mexican & American Food".) For rating I hesitate between 3-4 stars from the first visit, but I do like to support new operations. I will order some more stuff from them. This first time I ordered chile rellenos and red enchiliadas. Both our items were well made but VERY mild as regards spicing. As I was a new walk-in, and a caucasian, perhaps they wanted to make sure I wouldn't find the food too spicy. At home, I needed to jazz things up with salsa and a bit of salt, at which point the food was fine. The ingredients were solid, very good corn tortillas, etc. The storefront has a sign saying they have "all you can eat" menudo on Sundays, so maybe I'll try that out for a sit-down visit. Not that I need more than a bowl of menudo, but I like any place willing to put it up front. Try to get menudo at Hacienda? Good luck! The Fiesta Tapatia is nearby and so far I like that place's food better. My favorites for more "authentic" fare are the kitchen at Supermercado Rosales south of downtown and then a number of places on Western Ave. Also El Paraiso. But I hope these folks at Mishawaka Grill get some business and success.
