Unfortunately the manager of this establishment doesn't care too greatly about customer loyalty. This was our second visit, the first visit went fine when we came in for a special event. At this visit, we had reserved seating for a large group of 25 people over a week in advance for a friendly get together. I was not told up front that we would be kicked out at 9 PM after spending collectively, hundreds of dollars on food and drinks. The manager wanted to bring in more people to watch a pay per view UFC fight on TV. The manager approached me and pointed out that our reservation was for 7 PM and we had been there almost 2 hours (8:45 ish). He told me me that we had 30 -45 minutes to decide what we were going to do (spend more money there to watch the fight or go elsewhere). Meanwhile almost everyone in our large group had bought meals and drinks. We were originally under the understanding that there was no time constraints for our visit and we had planned to stay longer and continue to spend money on drinks. Many, including myself, were just finishing up eating when told we were going to have to leave. 15 minutes later he rudely approached our other table and without speaking to me (the organizer of our group), told them all the he wanted them to leave immediately. The manager had just got done telling me that he wasn't going to ask us to leave but expected us to pay more on drinks if we planned to stay. He was clear that we had a little time to decide 30-45 minutes. Many of us hadn't even gotten our checks yet and still had full and half full drinks to finish. I've never experienced this sort of rude behavior at any other restaurant. Its plain the that manager cared nothing for repeat business or keeping a happy customer that brings in a large group every few months. I called the location a couple times before the day of our reservation and was never told of having to leave early or that we would be kicked because we had passed a time quota. They also could have said something to us when we first arrived. They missed several opportunities to make our reservation acceptable and missed it at all times. If we had been told up front of any conflicts, I would have found another location to have our get together. The food was fine, the waitresses were fine, the WI-FI didn't work and the manger is a complete.... you know what. That kinda blows the whole experience. If you don't mind going somewhere where you could spend a bunch of money on food and yet be told that you and your friends and family had to leave immediately with no warning, Kudo's to you! Otherwise, eat somewhere else. I won't be going back and won't recommend the tilted Kilt to my friends.

My dad spent a summer working in Arizona a few years back, during which he and his co-workers would stop by the Scottsdale Tilted Kilt about once a week. Needless to say, when he got back up here he was disappointed to find that there wasn't yet a Tilted Kilt in the area. Fast forward a few months and one opens up here in Merrillville, fairly close to our house. We noticed it while doing our Christmas shopping and decided to stop in for dinner. It was pretty much what he had described; an Irish Hooters but with a larger selection of food. That doesn't mean that it wasn't a good experience, however. As a matter of fact, we had a great time. On that particular visit, I ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. It was amazing as I recall. About 2 weeks later, I decided to go there again fro my birthday. This time, I ordered a Reuben if I remember correctly. This was an equally amazing sandwich. After the Reuben, I had the Tilted Guilt dessert: a chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate. Delicious. Bottom line: if you're looking for a casual place to go out for dinner with some friends and see scantily clad women, but don't feel like wings at Hooters, Tilted Kilt is a great place to stop by for a meal. The staff are friendly, the food is great, and the price isn't that bad.

Arrived yesterday to meet up with a couple of friends at this Tilted Kilt for a few drinks and some pub grub after a long day at work. Initially had some reservation when the place was first mentioned, as I was looking to just hang out with my friends and be at ease. I had a stereo type in my mind that it would be a Hooters type establishment were attention would be on the wait staffs outfits at the expense of the food quality and bar selection. I'm happy to say that I was very pleased with the bar/restaurant. There was a nice selections of beers and spirits available. Noted were some local craft beer offerings. The menu was rather extensive and it took awhile to decide from your typical appetizers and entree to those with a notable Tilted Kilt spin. Ultimately we decided on a order of Grilled wings and individually picked the French Dip sandwich with Garlic Fries, a Flatbread with BBQ Chicken, and I had the Blue Cheese Burger. We were all pleased with our picks. It was honest to goodness bar food with the beers arriving nicely in frosted glasses that were just right ( not to frosted were your hands chilled holding the glass but just enough to have the glass cold and the beer very drinkable. All that said, what I walked away with most was a feeling I was leaving a place I was much at ease at. Turns out my Friends I had met there were some what regulars to the establishment, and I can see why. Aside from the drinks and food, the staff I encountered yesterday were top notch. Our server Brooks along with servers Laney and Amanda were very sweet and genuine. The Friendliness of the staff needs to be capitalized as they were attentive without being pushy, real and sincere without being being artificial, although some may have some artificial qualities.......but that's another issue which I must say did catch my eye...in a very nice way. Like family I even got introduced Aimee a manager there. I must complement the staff as for what I initially was concerned about (feeling at ease), turns out to be one of the reasons I'll be back again soon. Would have given the place 5 stars but I reserve 5 stars for that unique one of a kind place. This is a chain, but what they do they do very well.

I honestly really enjoyed this place even though the service wasn't that great. I really like the chicken fingers but wish there were more. The garlic fries were amazing. The service was very good. overall, I enjoyed it

Some of the slowest service we have had in a restaurant waiting for our food. I ordered their 1/2 pound burger that they say is their special meat grind and cooked to order. I ordered it medium rare and it came very well done. Sent it back and the second was even more well and dry. Tables around us were also complaining and got very slow service waiting for their food. This would explain why the restaurant was less than half full at prime time on a Saturday night. Our waitress was nice and apologetic. Never saw the manager.

Your waitress will take your order right up to an inch from their beak and sniff it to make sure it is fresh!

I'm not usually a fan of sexual-oriented restaurants, then again for the sake of the fact that I was hanging out with close family members from the Philippines, no choice but to go. Let me start with the enviroment of the place, it sickens me. But since dressing half-exposed is PART of the place's theme, I can't judge against them for that. Now, for the food experience. I got the bacon burger with potato chips as a side. My cousins got the barbeque and garlic chicken wings and a ceasar salad for another. The food is great, but just not good enough for a "five-star" quality. Because it wasn't horrible, that brings to place to a four-star like most pubs I've been to. For the service, this is where it turns into a three-star. My bacon burger arrived, and the chicken wings arrived. The waitress told my other cousin, "I'll be back with your salad". Some chance of that happening, when your waitress sits down to converse and have happy hour with a friend or some creepy old person. About 45-minutes into dinner, she's still sitting and conversing until she finally came up to us for anything else. We told her about the salad, so she gives the ceasar salad. Only problem was there was no fork with it and by the time we noticed, she was again sitting down having happy hour. We had to ask ANOTHER waitress to give us our dang fork. So the food, four-star. The service, two-star because she actually gave us the salad but no fork. My experience here was indeed average. Also for the bubble-point options. The noise level varies, it was generally average when we went. But if you there during big games such as the SuperBowl or the NBA Playoffs, obviously it'll be very noisy. I think it's not good for kids. As I said, I'm not a big fan of restaurants like Tilted Kilt or Hooters were waitresses are dressed in such a way.

There were only a few other women there (always with a guy) Now I'm a lesbian and went with my girlfriend, the waitress where very hot only they were paying extra attention only to the guys there. With that the food has to be good for me to spend money there. And to my surprise it was very good so I will be going back.

This place is really fun! it was nice not over crowded and the waitresses were very nice....not to mention they are cute to! The Beers were cold and the food was great! I am not a big fan of hooters type places but this place gets my 4 star review for the great food and good service and ice cold beer . I had lots of fun and will be back for sure ...Plenty of big screen to watch the game as well all around fun

I was traveling back from Indy, and was starting to get hungry. Knowing that once I got to the tollways in IL, that there really weren't many options, I decided to stop in Merrillville because of it's plentiful dining options. I had never been to a tilted Kilt before, but figured I couldn't go wrong - beer, food and babes. Upon walking in, I was greeted promptly - but that's were the promptness stopped. Once I sat down, it took about 5 minutes before I was greeted by my server, Sammy. She then took my drink and Appetizer order - an Ale and Chips and Salsa. Pretty basic. While I waiting, I went to the restroom, and came back to the table, still with no drink or app. I continued waiting, played on my phone, watched TV. And kept waiting. I waited over 30 minutes before one of the other servers asked if I had someone helping me. I told her I gave my order to Sammy over 30 minutes prior. After some in--fighting between the manager and a few servers, I finally got my drink. Then I waited another 10 minutes for my chips and salsa. That's over 45 minutes of waiting for an app and a drink. Finally, a new server decided she felt sorry for me and took my order, and waited on me. 20 plus minutes later I finally had my food, which was actually pretty tasty and a good value. I ordered the blacken chicken pasta. The folks at the Kilt were kind enough to comp me my meal and my chips, so I'm thankful that they at least tried to resolve the situation, but sitting for so long, after driving for 3 hours, did nothing to help my perception of this establishment. Because of Sammy's lack of service, and the general overall lack of attention I received, I will never go back to a Kilt, even tough I thought there food was pretty good and I liked the view. If you like Tilted Kilts, and you stop in Merriveille, I recommend going somewhere else.

How can you not like this place?! Try the pastrami, pretty amazing.

My first encounter with Tilted Kilt was down in Houston quite a few years back, so decided to stop by this one as I did enjoy my experience there. The main attraction here are the staff, all younger females in skimpy school girl uniforms. While this was great, the issue I found was that this place was FULL of guys, my wife being one of the only women here other than the servers. The ambiance was definately interesting as the guys would mentaly undress the ladies with their eyes, including my wife. We had the wings and a few beers here. The wings were good, nothing special, and the beer was beer. In all a half way decent spot to stop for a beer and some pub grub, but I wouldn't bring any female friends with you...

Slow service (not very busy), rude staff & mediocre food (lukewarm, not very appealing presentation & bland) pretty much clinches this business as not worth returning to. The management wasn't even concerned :(

Tried this place on daughters recommendation based location in Indianapolis, IN. Food was great had the Cajun fries, OMG they were spicy hot. We were a party of 5 couples. Our food come out together. It was all heat hot and cooked to order. Katlin our server was AWSOME, Very attentive, personable and pleasant. Kept drinks filled and brought out my wife's coleslaw that was missed when order came out with out being asked about it.

If I could rate this restaurant with no stars, I would. This place needs real improvement. Not the first Tilted Kilt I've been too, but definitely my last. The service was absolutely horrible and extremely slow, most of the food was cold, and the manager was using foul language while walking past our table. The employees also complained about guests with extremely foul language in front of other guests. We witnessed a family of 8 come in and they took so long to be waited on, they got up and left. We travel a lot cross country for work and have patronized other Tilted Kilts (Long Beach, CA) and had a great time, but this location was severely lacking and we would never visit another Tilted Kilt because of it.

I ordered some boneless wings and they were cold, sent them back and they got us some hot ones then i ordered a burger and it was cold i did not send it back but i asked for my check and won't be going back to this location, the one in downtown chicago is way better!

My wife called in the order while I was driving home from work. Told me 10-15 minutes. I walked in, drank a beer, and 30 minutes later asked if I had time for another beer. I was told that they were boxing it up, but they were looking for to go boxes. Five minutes later, I decided to get another beer after I was told that the manager stepped in to help get my food ready. The beer was really cold, but the best part of the meal was the salad my wife made at home. If you are just drinking some beer this is a good place, but the food was pretty awful...
(1)Mandy M.
Not up to par with other Tilted Kilts. Service, food, and big screen were all lacking.
(2)Douglas B.
Went here to get burgers to bring back to our hotel room 2 blocks away. The burgers and fries were both under cooked. They were very messy and hard to eat. There were less than 20 people here at 8 o'clock at night on a Friday. Guess I can figure out why. The service was fast but the food was not worth the time. I won't be going to another Tilted Kilt.

Fanfxxxingtastic experience! Best food experience of the year. Food was over the moon, service was fast and professional. I got a $50 value for $35 (party of two with a bucket of beer) my new favorite place to eat.

Yes, I'm female, but I happen to enjoy The Tilted Kilt. The food is decent pub food. The fries are fantastic and I love the black bean wrap. Service is usually pretty good, but I always make sure to plop my purse down on the extra chair to make sure the waitresses don't sit down and get too chatty. They tend to steer clear when I'm with my husband and our daughter, but a few of them just don't get it and try to up their tips with giggly chatter. Little do they realize they cut it in half just by sitting down. I came in for some lunch, not to listen to you talk about your drunken weekend, thank you. Yes, we've taken our daughter to lunch there with us. She's 8. And yes, the waitresses wear short skirts and tiny tops. I don't steer clear of the beach just because there are women in bikinis. Why would I care what they are wearing as they refill my iced tea? In fact, I find it's usually a good way to start up a conversation with the kid about choices we make in life. And does she want to work in a place that values her more for her body than her brain cells? No? Then let's keep studying for that vocab test, shall we?

from my old profile (Oct 2010): Went with my husband and another couple. It was not busy at the time at all. We were seated, and after 25 minutes of waiting for a waitress to come to our table with no result- we finally got up and left! The girls pretty much just clung to the all guys tables, which was sad- because, hey- we are excellent tippers! They probably would have gotten better tips from our table then the group of 20 something guys sitting next to us- their loss! Their outfits are cute (more appealing "eye candy" then Hooters probably)... but if you want eye candy AND service AND food/ drinks- skip this place and go to Hooters! We will never go back. Wish I could tell you about the food, but since we were invisible and never got served... I couldn't tell ya! I have never had such pitiful service (or in this case, non-service) in my life. Very sad! Maybe it was because we were just as cute as the waitresses- I don't know... but don't go unless you're an all guy group!

Sports bar with girls in tiny plaid mini skirts and much cleavage. As a female, I just don't to see that much flesh, but I'm sure the men are big tippers. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. Beer was fine. I had a Black and Tan and friend had Black and Blue. Reasonably priced. The FOOD however, was bland and tasteless. We had calamari and spinach dip. Calamari was your basic fried calamari, but the sauce they served tasted like watered down ketchup with some onions (?) in it. I though it was horrible and tasteless. Would not order again. Spinach dip was also pretty tasteless. While the chips SEEM to have been made there, they had little salt and also no flavor. All in all, it was fine for just beer and sports but I see no reason to ever go back.

Food is typical of a pub chain. The decor is great with a huge number of TVs. Good place to have a drink with a group. The outfits are definitely better than the hooters girls in my opinion. This one though should encourage the girls to have a few burgers though.
(3)J C.
Been here a few times. Foods a lot better than you would think. Mot sticks, tenders and burgers are good. Lots o TV's and the other scenery is really good.
(5)Linda B.
Came here with the hubby on a Saturday evening and there were several parties waiting to be seated. We did not have our 4 y.o. that night so we requested a table at the bar section and were seated immediately. The restaurant was packed! I'm a female so I won't go into depth about the the waitress' attire. I think the girls actually feel better in their tiny school girl attire than what the girls have to wear at Hooters. All the girls who attended to us were very pleasant and sweet. Menu selection is great. We wanted wings and burgers. They were all very good. A big plus for sweet potatoe fries and 3 Floyd's beer!! Looking forward to coming back again!
(4)Katie U.
The food and atmosphere was amazing!! I loved the outfits that the waitresses wore. Super sexy and fun! My husband and I loved everything about this place...WAY BETTER THAN HOOTERS!
(4)Mark H.
Grilled wings with the Kiltburner sauce are about the nastiest thing I have ever put in my mouth. I ate 1 wing and sent them back thinking they had the wrong sauce. Unfortunately, that was the flavor of the sauce. Great server, HORRIBLE food!! Two stars only because of a good server.

ive heard it called Irish/Scottish Hooters....meh....really cute servers that arent wearing much, yah ok......but oh my the menu and bar options blow Hooters out the door.... first things first......beer :-) ....friday night and $3.50 for your choice of American taps, the usuals from miller an bud....go to Guiness, Bass, Sam's and their own hand crafted beer and you step up to $5.00....not bad at all for a 20 oz glass......lots of bottle choices as well.....15 different scotch and irish whiskeys to sample as well... we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door....hostess stand right there.....bar in a raised area to the left......dining area straight ahead....this place was PACKED.....and we got lucky as a table opend up right away.....our first sever, Kim, was very friendly and offerd us drinks the moment we sat down...3 beers and an arnold palmer ( half iced tea half lemonade ) were brought out quickly....we started with an app. of a basket of homade potato chips....they were thick cut, fried perfect and were yummi drizzled with the malt vinegar that is on every table.... one thing that irks me is when your at a place and its time for a shift change, and you have to pay your bill before your finished so your first server can *cash out*....i would take a star away but it seems every freaking place does this so i will just leave it for a rant....our two new servers, Lori and a girl training, Dianne, could not have been more friendly and fun .... mmmmm burgers....10 huge ounces of dead angus cooked to a perfect medium rare ( bite me DMK, this place trusts thier food source ) the bun was perfect. soft and chewy bread that held the burger to my last bite....served with garlic fries that i could eat forever, they were cooked to a crispy crunch and loaded with garlic flavor,,,and at $7.99 a bargain.... cuz had a pizza....lots of choices here, she went with pinapple and bacon....and it was done right....perfect sauce to cheese to toppings ratio,,,,chewey cripsy crust...9 inches of delight for $6.99......... 2 other burgers rounded out our tables eats......one with mushrooms added, so many there seemed to be an appetizer portion falling off lol ....both were cooked perfectly as ordered as well..... not any time were our water, beer or drink glasses empty besides this place being totally full and 25 or so people in line waiting for a table....ok the outfits are a little revealing haha.tiny little micro plaid skirts and boobies pushing out everywhere... but hey its all fun......and i cant wait to go back......
(4)jennifer t.
It's a chain restaurant, with barely dressed women. I was not impressed I was not impressed with the food, it was just soso. The service was very good, the waitresses were attentive and friendly.
(2)Shawn L.
Overpriced kinda crappy food. So yeah. There are hot chicks in skimpy outfits. If that's your thing, awesome. If not, go elsewhere.
(3)sandra s.
This restaurant has gone downhill fast. Horrible service. Had to go find my server to get the bill and to get drinks refilled. She was flirting with a couple of guys not at a table but just standing around. Food is mediocre at best. Got the artichoke dip that came with about 10 broken chips, asked the server if we could get more chips she said yes but for more money. I have never been treated so badly.
(1)Glenn F.
My buddy order the cheese sticks and they were awful. The marinara was very watery so nothing stuck to it. I am not going back there again.
